Vela Unaware Of Baggies Move

Vela Unaware Of Baggies Move

Arsenal starlet Carlos Vela says he knows nothing regarding the reported loan move to Premiership outfit, West Brom, in the new year.

A few news agencies had reported than the wily forward was about to embark on his second loan spell of his Arsenal career, whilst others say he'd rejected the idea.

Vela simply says that he hasn't heard anything about it.

"I don`t know anything about it, for real. I`m good like that."

Excellent, I like players who are good like that :)

Wenger seems reluctant to play him wide left. With Eduardo probably in the running next month we should then have him, Ade, RvP and Bendtner for the forward places. Maybe a loan option is the only way for Vela to get playing time?

It seems strange that AW is willing to play Walcott wide right consistently, but not willing to give Vela a try on the left. Carlos appears to be just as fast as Theo and probably has more tricks up his sleeve. Maybe having Theo right and Vela left would have left us defensively exposed, but with Theo out and Nasri injured (if he is) then now would be the perfect time to give Vela a test on the left with Eboue (assuming his confidence hasn't left the building) on the right.

Seems logical enough to me but for some reason best known to Wenger he seems reluctant to try it. The Porto game seems an ideal opportunity. If he doesn't give it a go then it's probably unlikely he will any time soon.

I agree rocky7 and with Nicky's and Eboue's poor performances surly he should be considered as sub before them.

I just amazed at the paucity of numbers and quality in our squad that a player like Eboue can even get near a first team starting slot. As for Vela, don't send him out too often, he may just start to get the feeling he isn't wanted. regardless of what he is told, actions speak louder than words.

As I've said recently we're all amateur tacticians really, so if Wenger isn't trying it there must be a reason ..... but I can't see what it is.

There can be no more exits from this squad, on loan or otherwise. This squad is already thin on numbers, so even if a loan spell will help Vela in his personal development, it will not help the competitiveness of Arsenal FC. We still have the FA Cup, CL & the PL after Jan. So I'm sure Vela will get his chances.

Agree with Prits - I would be disappointed to see him go out on loan, it took us ages to get him here in the first place! No doubt he'll get his shot if he stays at Arsenal. @Rocky - you are right, theo right and vela left would leave us even more defensively fragile on the wings than we are already.

I thought Vela looked really good on the left while is Spain. I'm really amazed he hasn't been given a run out there. I remember he seemed quite willing to take it to Sergio Ramos from that position last year.
