'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Let The Transfer Madness Begin

For the first time since the transfer window was brought in, I'm actually excited and tense about what it will bring for Arsenal Football Cub.

Usually the transfer window is nothing more than a bundle of hype, lies and disapointment. This one may be no different but this time there is a massive importance of what comes to pass and what doesn't.

Arsenal currently sit in the non-Champions League bearing 5th position and with a team that looks berift of confidence, creativity and passion. The Arsenal manager himself says the squad is thread bare, and every man and his dogs can see the wrongs that need to be righted.

We're barely into the first day of the transfer window and the rumours have begun in earnest.

Various media outlets (very questionable ones might I add) have already reported that Arsenal have tabled an 8Million bid for excellent shot stopper and often thorn in Arsenal's side, Newcastle's Shay Given.

Follwing on from last summer Andrei Arshavin's agent claims Arsenal are extremly interested on following up on last summers enquiries for the skilful playmaker, whilst Arsene Wenger has remained more than coy on the rumour.

Another growing rumour is that of a supposed bid for Everton's extremely experienced Mikel Arteta.

Peter Hill-Wood reveled that Kolo Toure's transfer request has been knocked back as Man City are reported to have show interest.

William Gallas has AC Milan keeping an eye on him, Gokhan Inler has once again become an Arsenal target according to some papers after saying he wasn't ready to move to Arsenal last summer.
St Etienne striker Bafetimbi Gomis is also an apparently on Arsene Wenger's radar.

All of these stories could be complete crap, some may have substance, others will be as flimsy as a Jose Mourinho alibi, but one thing is for sure, the madness has started.

Who would you like to see come in? Which player would you gladly pay for their taxi to the airport?

What do we need? What do you want?

Let the games begin.

Arshavin to Arsenal? Is he not too old for you fellas? :D And Toure asked for a transfer for joining Citeh?!? What a muppet.. Leaving a big four club for a bottom four club.. Aah, the lure of money! Feck it

I think playing time might influence Toure's decision as well. Inler, Arshavin, and Arteta would be my choices for transfer targets. I think Given is way too unrealistic, but it can also be argued that Arteta is as well.

We don't want any selling Arsene.. if we could get Arteta and/or Inler that would be good going for the moment. Arshavin can come too if he's willing to play for 5k a week the greedy *****. Happy New year to Vital Arse!

i think toure has lost it now i doubt wenger will sell kt to an english team he may look to sell him abroad maybe to a team not compete in champs league personally i hope he doesnt go but thats what i said about every other invincible (apart from cygan)

Jimmy Bullard for a 24 month contract will do, just like liverpool got hold of Gary McAllister to do a job for a short period. Someone who is a driving force and a personality in the dressing room.
Orange Quadrant
And it's already started today with the Arshavin rumour!!

Sell Toure or Gallas and bring in Upson or Hangelaand, bring in Arteta or Arshavin and bring in Rosina and also Inler.

As long as there is some transfer activity this Jan, I will be happy. I trust Wenger to sign the right player for Arsenal. But it does seem likely that he will sign 2 creative mid field players and thats about it. The strikers are ok, and Wenger might just go with this defence & Song as DM till the end of this season and sort things out in the summer.

Tim Cahill. Direct attacking midfielder who never gives up and often produces the late killer blow - essential at the moment as we can't close out games or get behind early. Strong in the air and full of energy. Like Arteta too but the guy who could dominate the PL for the next few years is Ashley Young - too expensive at 11m while at Watford, apparently.

wenger wont sell until the summer ... i think we will be gettin a centre mid and a centre back coming our way ... i think the sensible option would be to sign arteta ... very experienced in the premier league ... would be avaliable for the champions league and a all round good player ...

hopefully arsene will be in charitable mood and loan the rovers some of these promising yougsters vela for the season would be nice

Arteta is a good wish for but unrealistic I think, and doesn't Cesc hate him? West Ham say they will listen to any offers so how about Upson, Bellamy and Parker? Might get one out of the three! I'm not sure we need a goalie, get the defence sorted and I think Almunia will be OK again and Fabianski looks good. A solid, experienced central defender would be nice but apart from Upson I don't know who that could be. I think Wenger will make one or two signings and they will probably be players nobody has considered or thought of if past form is anything to go by.

But a winger should be the priority. Unless we sign a top class winger there is no point doing the rest.

Bellamy can play wide!
