Kinnear Hasn't Given Any Thought To Shay Sale

Joe Kinnear is ready to dash any Arsenal hopes of signing Newcaste super stopper Shay Given insisting the Irishman is going nowhere.

Reports had emerged (though not confirmed) that Arsene had tabled an £8m bid for the keeper, but Joe says he won't sell ..... not even to his coffee drinking buddy.

"Shay is the best in the Premier League by an absolute mile. He won`t be leaving. He loves the club and he loves the place."

"Arsene`s a good friend. He was very good to me while I was out of the game. We live close to each other and we`re drinking partners if you like - over a cup of coffee I should say!"

Given is one of the best in the Premiership, and if Wenger could pull of the transfer, at the very least we'd be assured 6 points from Newcastle every season :)

at newcastle he would save lots of points but because newcastle r so awful he doesnt save as many whereas if he was at arsenal i think he would save us around 12 points a season

of course we all know its not up to kinnear, subprime rate says 8 million for a 32 yr old is a good offer, and we all know mike ashley is a businessman, and dennis wise might just have attended damien commoli's business school in the past.

Given's lawyer has issued a statement saying he wants to leave the club after the pathetic display against Liverpool last week (and if it werent for Given it would have reached double figures easily) and that the interest from Man City, Arsenal and Spurs has made him want to go. I don't think Spurs can put up much of a fight, Old Scrotum face has already admitted they are skint, Man City will easily be able to gazzump us in the wages stakes but we can offer him CL football. I'd go for him, he is probably the best goal keeper in the world who is available right now. Much better than Almunia if you ask me.

Given won't be staying at Newcastle, but he won't be heading for London either. Shay will be linking up with his Irish International colleagues Dunne and Ireland -- at Manchester City. You gooners can't offer him that...
