Eboooooooue Stronger After Ashburton Incident

Arsenal Midfender, Emmanuel Eboue, says the Ashburton boo boys have made him a better person.

The tiger suit wearing Ivorian was roundly booed as he was substituted at the end of the 1-0 victory over Wigan in December after coming on as a substitute himself. It turned out to be one of those days for Eboue as everything that could go wrong, did.

Despite his horrific performance the reaction of a large portion of the crowd was lambasted by the remaining Gooners, and whilst Eboue's team mates and manager didn't go as far as to criticise the fans, they offered their unwavering support to their friend.

Speaking with Arsenal.com Eboue claims he's stronger for it.

'Yes [I feel stronger now] and I`d just like to say thank you to my friends in the team, and to the staff and the boss,'

'They helped me a lot after that game, because I was very disappointed and angry - not with the fans, but with the game itself. I`d tried to give my best but nothing came off for me, and I know these things can happen sometimes.

'But I have to thank the supporters - lots of people have said sorry to me and I`ve received a lot of cards and messages over the Christmas period, which has been really nice. So I`m feeling much better now and am pleased to have the chance to play. Against Portsmouth I was a little bit tired but I tried to give my best for the fans.'

WHEN HE COMES BACK AND PLAYS RIGHT WING SAGNA SEEMS TO PLAY WELL SO THAT SHOULD MEAN THAT WALCOTT IS PUSHED TO BECOME A BETTER PLAYER

Hold on, so booing him didn't destroy him and the team?

I've listened to a lot of interviews and he seems to say the right things all the time. He is resigned to playing the RM position, and I suppose he took his time to adapt. He is a useful squad player, and if the boos made him stronger, then good for him. Atleast this is evidence of a tough mental side.

Just because he had the stregnth of mind to get past it doesn't make it any less wrong.

I just hope the booers have learnt as much of a lesson as Eboue has.

Of all the players in the league, Eboue should be one of the last to be booed. He has a really good head on his shoulders, and always says the right things. Seems like a good guy, all his team-mates love him and, despite what others say, he does try hard on the pitch.

he provided the cross for henry to equalise with a header against man utd when we did the double over them that year. i remember henry saying afterwards, eboue had crossed in once before which henry missed, so he made sure the second cross went in. eboue has a lot to contribute to the team, his sprints down the flanks gives us added width, and we know he can cross. i hope he gains his confidence fully and become a permanent starter.

If it makes Eboue a better player, let's boo anyone who's underperfoming, yes!?

Couldn't agree more, supersof and Rob. He does seem to be well liked in the dressing room and I get the feeling we need that at the moment.
