Arshavin's Prayers To Be Answered?

Arshavin's Prayers To Be Answered?

Andrei Arshavin yesterday revealed that his move to his 'club of the future' is in the hands of the gods, and that he spends all his spare time kneeling at the foot of his bed, hands clasped deep in prayer that Zenit and Arsenal can come to some agreement.

Well it's looking possible that his prayers might be answered.

'My hopes now rest with God. Apart from him, nobody can help me,' Arshavin is quoted as saying in The Times.

'I see Arsenal as my team of the future. Everything now depends on Zenit. If they want to sell me, they can do it very quickly.'

This morning quotes coming out of the Zenit camp suggest talks are moving along and that the Russians are looking for a compromise.

'We are certainly conducting negotiations directly with the Arsenal chief executive,' Mitrofanov told Sport Express.

'The footballer's agent is not taking part in them. Because of this he simply does not know all the details of the process of negotiation, and in this sense his comments should not always be trusted.'

'As regards the process itself, as I have already said, it is not simple, but it is moving and we hope that it will lead to its logical conclusion.'

Hopefully the most Tedious Arsenal transfer ever will be wrapped up today. This one is worst for me than both Nasri & Baptista. The Nasri one didnt have 4 new stories on the transfer everyday and i was on holiday for a chunk of the Baptista one. We have had 10 stories from Zenit, 15 from his agent, 8 from him, 3 from other players and about 120 from other sources. I suppose we will always have that problem in the age of the internet where news articles get re-re-re-recycled endless amounts of times and everyone has an exclusive.

I think the Baptista one was much worse, that went on for about two years!!! lol. That said it would be good to put this one to bed.

Nasri was the worst, followed by Baptista. This is exactly why Wenger does not make transfers public, because it causes so many complications. Let's hope it gets done even though I am still unsure why we are after him. I want Ireland. That is a player that we REALLY need.

I think Arshavin, from a playing point of view is exactly what we need right now. A player who is creative, can play midfield or out wide, has an eye for a pass and for goal! What more could we ask for?

We could ask for the transfer to be concluded so our rage levels lower.

That's true. Imagine the boost the players and fans would get to see Arshavin and Eduardo take the ptich on the same day?

I think what we really need is a DM to bring some balance to the team that we have lost Since Flamini left. We can get by with Denilson and Fabregas but I wouldn't like to see Denilson and Arsharvin in the centre unless it was a 5 man midfiled.

I know i dont take notice of nearly any transfer, but the reported 28 million pound bid for Kuyt by Juventus must be the most ridiculous ive heard

Infact i would get more pleasure out of building a palace using the 28million pounds worth of 5 pound notes and then setting them on fire.
