Transfer Deadline Day News

Transfer Deadline Day News

At 5pm on this rather snowy Monday, the current transfer window will slam shut and bring an end to the silly season once and for all!! Ok, not quite once and for all but it might give us a couple of weeks respite.

As usual we Gooners have spent the majority of the transfer window like a bunch of kids with our faces pressed up against the sweet shop window, looking on with jealousy as the big kids snaffle all the sweets and our parent keep promising us they'll buy us some, but not until they find some really special fruit pastels.

So in this thread we'll post all the day's transfer activity so we have something to discuss until Arshavin signs at 4.59pm this afternoon.

Shay Given has finally taken the plunge and left Newcastle United after 300 years and joined money bags Man City for an undisclosed fee.

We will update this throughout the day as the transfer window pace picks up.
