Confirmed: Arshavin DID Fly To London

Speculation that Andrei Arshavin had flown to London to sign for Arsenal should the North London outfit and Zenit thrash out a deal on the final day of the transfer window, has been confirmed as Sky Sports News transmitted footage of the Gunners target this morning.

One could have been forgiven for thinking the video was filmed in St Pertersburg as a well wrapped up Arshavin was pictured talking on his phone in a snowy setting, however it has been confirmed he was in Hertfordshire and not Russia.

In one of the longest transfer sagas since ..... well ..... the signing of Sami Nasri in the summer, Arshavin now seems to be one step closer to the red and white of Arsenal.

More news as it happens.

For those who, like me, can't watch SSN (fortunately or unfortunately), here's a photo of Arshavin standing, hmm, somewhere in the cold - it's Hertfordshire they said:

Howdy dudes, apologies no match report from Saturday, but I had to move house yesterday. It looks like much of the talking has been done on another thread, with the deadline day and the massive, massive disappointment that will inevitably bring, much of the focus could and should be elsewhere now so I'll not do a report. Suffice to say that at least the UEFA Cup will give me some new places to visit next season. As for Arshavin, please just do the deal Arsene, your current team is lifeless and a bit painful to watch when you pay £1,825 just for the home games, this team desperately needs new blood.

Amen to that LD. It's been a long while since an Arsenal team looked so out of ideas. I'm pretty hopefull this will go through now with AA on hand to sign.

Come on AFC

Do you want the player or not? The player wants to come to you, his club wants to sell him to you, so why is he not an Arsenal player yet? I think you are going to get gazumped by another team before the window closes. Your chances of CL football next season if you don't get arshavin

Even though Arshavin is actually in London now, and even though we all know that Wenger really admires and wants the player, I'm still not confident that this club will do the right thing and wake the ***** up to the fact they are not above and beyond the politics of transfers, a top club like Arsenal cannot get away with a bargain bin price for a player who everyone knows is quality. If Wenger wants this player then the board who keep on saying that "they totally trust Wenger" should stump up the cash even if it is more than they would ideally like to part with.

@fifthcolumnblue. Exactly, does this club want him or not, it's quite simple really. If they don't want him then don't dick about throughout January right up until the last day, if they do want him then it's obviously more important than a few million quid.

Looks like you were right to feel that way Prof ...... SSN is apparenty on his way home. FFS!

**SSN say he's apparently on his way home

FFS, We make more money than any club via gate reciepts, we have a very good repayments package on the Emirates loan and instead we choose to waste money over paying waste players instead of giving the best what they deserve. If we cant afford a package to bring in the a player voted 6th best in the world when he is a bargain price of £15m then something has to change at the club.
