Gazidis: Wenger 'Entwined' With Arsenal

New Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis says Arsene Wenger is 'entwined' with Arsenal football club and that the Frenchman's long term future lies in North London.

Gazidis became Arsenal's chief exec in the new year and has probably just endured one of the most arduous first month's of a new job he's ever encountered, however the former MLS big wig assures Arsene will remain at Arsenal.

'Arsene is entwined in the club, and feels a sense of responsibility, it is difficult to imagine (Arsenal) without him now. Arsene is looking to the long-term. I think he loves the club. There's (no) situation I can imagine that would lead to Arsene wanting to leave Arsenal.' Gazidis told The Guardian

'We have one of the best managers in the world, if not the best, who has redefined the club and has taken us to a point where everyone (outside of the club) is talking about fifth as a crisis. Arsene isn't happy to be fifth place, but we believe and he believes, more importantly, in the group of young players that he has. He believes that there is unfinished business.'

Well done for making public what gooners already know Mr. Gazidis. What we need now, as a club, is a string of good results. What better way to start than the NLD. I'm not saying we could still win the league (Uniteds names are on it), but we're not a million miles away from the other three!

Anyone nervous about Tottenham yet? Every time this fixture comes round i start to brick it, the 5-1 hurt, but they can stick the mickey mouse cup up their arse, the 4-4 hurt more.

I've said it before, Arsene - Arsenal, it was written in the stars. Real Madrid will just have to stick their 25 million up somewhere very personal.

Actually think you'll have to credit David Dein with that quote there Julie...

Rumour has it that Wenger is being eyed up as the next manager of Manchester City or even Manchester United., but you know what rumours are, they are designed to disrupt the running order of a football club.
Buzz Lightyear
Buzz, nah not in Arsene's life, unless they change their names to Arseter City or Arseter Utd. :)

Hm, maybe the serendipity we had with Arsene = Arsenal will carryover to Arshavin = Arsenal? :-)

Gazidis already seems to understand Arsenal FC very well. I read his interview in the Times, and he was quoting the official club lines on a host of issues. His next job is to secure the futures of RvP & Theo, and the sooner that is achieved, then the better as he can then focus on summer targets.
