Another Home Draw in the Cup

If we can get past Cardiff at home tomorrow night and then clear whatver hurdle Burnley pose at home in the delayed fifth round tie then todays FA Cup draw has delivered another home fixture. This time against the winners of the 5th round tie between Sheffield United and Hull.

There's many a slip 'twixt Cup .... so nothing can be taken for granted - but we would hope to be able to take advantage of these home draws. Both Sheffield United and Hull have already played at the Emirates with the Carling Cup side gaining a good win over the Blades. The PL encounter against Hull early in the season was a bit of a shock and we aren't likely to take them as lightly again should they and we get through the next rounds and we meet again at the Emirates.

The full draw is:

Blackburn or Coventry v Chelsea
Swansea or Fulham v Manchester United
Cardiff/Arsenal or Burnley v Sheffield United or Hull
Everton v West Ham or Middlesbrough

The ties are due to be played on March 7 and 8th.

With our 5th round game at Burnley scheduled for March 7th, I have no idea when this game will be played if we get there

So we are 3 home games from reaching a wembley semi final and with a good record against United and chelsea thus far this season the FA cup is a good route to a trophy. sadly though 4th place is probably more important for our long term future.

Seems like it's all set up very nicely for the semi-finals between the top 6 teams with Chelsea, ManU, us and Everton. As mentioned above, we have a decent chance! But yes, a top 4 place is more important. Villa, now out of the Cup and having only the league and the UEFA Cup, are in an even better position in the league. Their Mar-Apr period is tough, time for us to take advantage!!

PS: I'd love Swansea to go through, they play football and are very entertaining! Their great performance against Fulham reminded me a bit of Reading, one of the very few Championship teams who play attacking football, and a bit of ourselves.

Swansea, is that who Roberto Martinez manages? This is our best chance of a trophy in years. If we c an just get to that semi we'll have Cesc, Walcott, Edoerdo, Arshavin and possibly Rosicky available for it. Would care if we got Chelsea or Man Utd in that case. Big game tonight

We can go all the way this year if wenger decides to take it serious instead of the s*** he sent out last year with clear instructions not to be too bothered if they lose!

Hope we can beat Burnley, so we can get another home game!!!!!!
