Kolo loves Willy - True

Kolo loves Willy - True

Such has the bond of affection grown between Toure and Gallas of late that the two couldn`t bear to be separated - even though it meant both were late leaving the dressing room for the start of the 2nd half of the CL game against Roma last night. Had Toure been holding Gallas` hand as he sprinted onto the pitch, without the ref`s blessing, both might have been booked. In the event only Kolo picked up a yellow card later explaining that his tardiness was due to having to wait for his defensive partner.

"I came on the pitch with William because I was waiting for him in the dressing room. I'm always the last man to come off the dressing room. To be honest I didn`t know I was not allowed to come on the pitch without the permission of the referee."

Yet only last month the two players were so unhappy in each others company that Toure apparently submitted a transfer request. Fortunately this was rejected along with a reported offer from Manchester City. For a time afterwards it appeared that the two players would not be selected together and as each team sheet appeared one or the other player was unavailable due to injury. But times have changed and Toure and Gallas have not only started the last 5 games in harness together they have also managed 5 clean sheets in doing so.

In the absence of Fabregas, it is Kolo wearing the captain`s armband now instead of Gallas, but our former captain is putting a brave face on it and more importantly playing well. So happy is he now that Toure envisages spending many more years with the club saying

"Everything is at the end now. It is finished and in the past. I am delighted to be at the club, I love Arsenal. I have been here for seven years, it is the club of my heart.

"William and I are used to playing together and last season we lost very few games when we were both in the team. We know each other really well and we are happy to play together."

We`ll not know whether the love-in endures beyond this season until the summer I guess but if the dressing room disharmony that was so damaging a few months ago has been resolved that can only help us in our endeavour to take as much as we can out of what is left of this season.

yadayadayada...anyways they have been good together so far...almost like the first part of last season. I dont think we shld make much of them coming out lated..granted it can't happen again. Bendtners finishing is soooo woeful - i know that point has been laboured but i just cant help it...the dude is just awful in his final touch most of the times...Eboue i dont really mind bcos he isnt an attacker...i dont think AW "micromanages" the team too much...Bendtner/Eboue shld stay back after every training taking shots into a open net..at least 100 every day..same goes for Sagna/Clichy..100 crosses EVERY day...we totally overated Roma. I hope our profilgacy doesnt bite us in the a*rse in two weeks time..its bitten us in the PL badly already..haply Eduardo and Ade are bak soon

Kolo's superstitious about always being the last player to come out and get on the pitch. Gallas was being treated (he played thru pain last night) and Kolo was waiting for him. AW said in his press conference that was happened was "our fault."

Gotta love Kolo, he has a real passion for Arsenal - the club of his heart. Despite his somewhat indifferent form this season he is still awesome in my eyes. Lets hope his new found love for the Willy makes them tighter at the back (!)

Coincidence that this new found love in comes hand and hand with not conceding a goal in Feburary?

Coincidence or otherwise, Toure kept his disappontment behind closed doors. His transfer request was not made public and his agent did not moan to the media. I'm quite happy to give Toure another chance. If the transfer request was a mistake, he should be given the chance to set it right.

They both look solid lately. But would anyone here still like us to buy a CB over summer? I'm still undecided.

Has anybody else noticed that a lot of the stupid statements from players have stopped about us doing this, that and the other and winning the World Cup on one leg and sweeping all before us and how the whole of the world fears us and we're brilliant aren't we. The comments from the players appear to have been a bit more focussed and less pie eyed of late. Maybe I'm imagining it, maybe I always was, but that's just the impression I get.

LD, it's hard to go running your mouth off when you're trailing Man U by 17 points, no?

snap. I usually dont care what the players get up to off the pitch but something about this picture has changed my oppinion on Almunia. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1155361/Pretty-pink-Arsenal-star-Almunia-catches-eye-taking-dog-stroll.html At least Gallas was caught with a Ciggy.

Maybe guys have a problem with that photo, paul, I'm a female and I don't. I actually like that jacket. And the pooch wearing pink? Maybe it's his girlfriend's, who knows. I think Manuel looks great in that photo.
