Bendtner Confident Of Revenge

Arsenal take on Burnley in the FA Cup tomorrow only 3 months after losing to the Clarets 2-0 in the league cup.

A youthful Gunners team were soundly beaten at Turfmoor by an impressive Burnley display, however Arsenal weren't without their chances but squandered a whole host of clear cut efforts, the main culprit of which was current inform striker, Nicklas Bendtner.

Bendtner is still upset at blowing a couple of one-on-one chances but is determined to make amends at Ashburton Grove tomorrow.

'What happened in the League Cup against Burnley was bad. I was very disappointed with myself after that game,' he Bendtner.

'I had three clear chances - from which I should have scored two, if not three.'

'When your finishing is not as good as it should be, it annoys you - especially when we have six or seven one-on-ones and don't score any of them.'

'But it will be a new game, and if we get the same chances I am sure we will put them in this time.'

Would anyone bet against it? Not me.

Bendtner has got some confidence now, athough he will continue to miss chances, which is part of his learning process. Lets hope he can put away one or two against Burnley. Burnley did impress me in the CC but we should have a much stronger side out in the FA Cup.

Nicky has been impressing me for sometime now. His finishing and decision making will improve with time, what is important is he's getting in position and scoring some goals. I think it was LD who said look at any team in Europe and they don't have a 4th choice striker anywhere near as good as Bendtner. If he can be patient he can be huge for Arsenal.

With the exception of Intermilan maybe Rocky. But in general i am more than happy for him to be 4th choice, and in time maybe take Adebayors place

Certainly Paul, Nicklas has been far more impressive than Ade this season, even if the majority of our home fans don't want to recognise it!!

Hopefully Nik will score an early goal- I'm embarrassed to think what the reaction of the so-called 'supporters' at the Emirates will do if he misses a sitter. Too bad the extra 22,000 seats have been filled by idiots and corporate suits rather than true supporters of the club. I see the 'new' supporter as a clone of Myles Palmer- minimal knowledge of football but whiney and negative.

I have always rated Nicky highly and as a better player than Ade. I think he needs maybe one more season to be a massive player for us in the mould of RVP, Cesc and co tho I admit that his resent misses have been very frustrating.

To be honest elbondo, the difference between the "breed"of supporter now and at Highbury is minimal. It'sa romantic notion put forward by those of us who were regulars at the old ground that the "newbies" have ruined it when the truth is Highbury was no different, there were just less people there. HY, test me. Come back when next we lose.

Nah HY, nothing to do with losing - we haven't lost since mid-Dec but the Bendtner haters never look at the scoreboard before giving him a hard time.

Fair point. Ive always thought hes a decent player, i dont think hes top class his finishing is woeful but i do think he puts a shift in. Every club has them though, the guys who frustrate the fans. Weve been saying the same for Jenas for years, he only shows up against you lot.
