Photographic Proof - Brown Is Wrong

Phil Brown is totally wrong.

Last night in a crazy rant, the Hull City manager claimed that Arsene Wenger refused to shake his hand after the Tigers embarrassed the Gunners at Ashburton Grove earlier this season, and that he wasn't surprised the Frenchman hadn't shaken it again.

After speaking on Setanta Wenger confirmed that he'd looked for Brown but he wasn't there, which was later confirmed by video footage.

Well an image has been found that proves Brown was totally wrong about the lack of a sporting gesture after the 2-1 loss in September.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

In an interview on 5Live today Brown was also asked what he meant when he said 'It just shows you what this club is all about' after making allegations of Fabregas spitting as his assistant manager, to which he replied 'I didn't say that did I?'.

So he's been caught out twice in 24 hours.

Hull City Football Club owe Arsenal Football Club an official apology. Imagine if Wenger had said in a press conference about Man Utd or any other PL club "that just shows you what their club is all about"! Phil Brown and by extension Hull City Football Club have publicly insulted Arsenal Football Club and have been proven LIARS! They have publicly smeared our great club. Our club had the class to APPLAUD their team off the pitch when they beat us in September, something Brown and Hull fans have forgotten all about. Our supporters applauded them even tho their graceless manager kept winding up our fans with in-your-face gestures and grins. The guy has absolutely NO CLASS. He's a sore loser and a LIAR. For all of Arsene's flaws, he would NEVER say something like "just shows you what their club is all about" to the press.

Next thing he's gonna say is that the guy in this picture isn't him. lol... The more you look at his quotes (if you can bear it) or, better, listen to him in the audio clips and watch him in the interviews, he looks like a guy who enjoys the media attention but has an inferiority complex that he painfully can't deal with when someone dents his confidence in himself. It's all about his own ego cos it seems to me like he's not even speaking on behalf of Hull but it's all about him and his success or failure on the line.

Altogether now, "he's cracking up, he's cracking up, he's cracking, Browny's cracking up." I'd take any sharp instruments away from him for the next seven days at least and place him under house arrest, the crazy old loon could cause some severe public disturbance. I'm going to Wembley, Browny's going to Bethlem.

He certainly deranged. And I agree that Phil Brown and Hull City owes our grand old club an official apology for the rant. We should be putting in a counter complaint to the FA. I'm not one bit surprised that the photo above catches him out in a lie.

Interesting comment on another blog I just read: "Did anyone happen to watch the match on Setanta? Before kick off, they were showing the two sides arriving. Gunnersaurus always greets both sets of players as they come off their bus and into the facility. Everyone was stopping and high-fiving, shaking hands or playfully hugging Gunnersaurus. Everyone, even the Hull players. Phil Brown just walks by him and you can barely catch the audio of him saying something like "I'm not shaking your hand..." -- I thought I heard something like that too but I wasn't sure.

Speaking of outrageous, I just saw on skysports.com that Chris Kamara is defending Pederson's dive from the weekend saying that (paraphrased): He clipped his own feet and thought the defender had clipped him. Now I've played sports for many many years and can safely say that I've never confused my own feet with those of someone else, what with my nervous system being properly connected and all.
TPowell
Arsene Wenger has been no saint in the past, but out of everything that went on last night Wenger did absolutely nothing wrong. He was well within his rights to complain about that blatant time wasting, in fact I would have judged him if he didn't.

"Would be right if that was at the end of last nights game" -- It IS right because Brown said Wenger "never" shakes his hand -- ever, in any game. THAT PHOTO PROVES HE IS A LIAR. And Wenger couldn't shake Brown's hand last night because Brown was too busy arguing with the referee.

Here in Nigeria, we have a proverb that roughly tranlated would go something like this "you cannot smack a child, and then forbid that child its right to weep" Brown, unfortunately, is no smarter than a toddler, he has demonstrated a total lack of respect for truth and an unwillingness to be graceful both in victory and defeat. Its a game, you lose some, and then you win some. Its natural to be pained and disappointed when you lose, and we at Arsenal have lost quite a bit in recent times and we've learnt to deal with it, (hell, we even applauded them off the pitch when they whupped us) but its infantile to lie against and then proceed to insult your opponents. Brown owes us an apology and Wenger and the board should demand it as a matter of course.

The main reason so many of us have been wound up today on here and vital hull is because of that 'It just shows you what this club is all about' comment. Because it's a personal slur on US. Managers/players/and staff come and go... we don't. Now he doesn't remember saying it!!!! He needs to think carefully about his next releases or statements.

Exactly navydave, I know I should be talking about the game, our players showed fantastic resolve and skill to come back and win the game. Arshavin is proving to be a genuine world class talent who has transformed our team. I know the rational response is not to take a j-a-c-k-a-s-s like Brown seriously. But I can't -- HE HAS PUBLICLY SMEARED AND INSULTED OUR CLUB, as well as our manager and our captain. We're unfortunately used to tolerating smears and insults against our manager and players -- but he's insulted our CLUB directly, publicly. An apology is most definitely in order.

Who cares about this vain****? Clueless makeshift managers will come and go in the EPL (just like Pardew), they have zero track record to give their opinions any credence and they sport the over confident arrogance only an idiot can have, during this limited time in the spotlight they will reveal their moronic true colours and then ***** off back to the Championship or beyond. Life goes on, Arsenal win some more, lose some more, but they will do so at the highest level and have done since they existed. That's what this club is all about, Hull on the other hand...

I don't know if this has been linked anywhere before so sorry if it has, but if you would like a good laugh then have a listen to this. In of the picture in this article and the video posted on another site showing Wenger shake Browns hand at the KC you can't help but cringe as lie after lie spills out of his mouth. It's quite comical. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7950507.stm

Just listened to that Rocky. If there is a case of someone wishing they hadn't opened the can of worms he did last night..... that was it! Overly defensive and paranoid. Why does he think he got up our nose? Surely it's the other way round. They are the ones who haven't stopped bleating in the last 22 hours!

SOMEONE ON THIS SITE SHOULD WRITE AN ARTICLE ON THE FOLLOWING: Last season Arsenal Football Club lent our training ground to Hull City Football club so they could prepare for their playoff at Wembley. Yet Phil Brown turns around with some kind of irrational, deep hatred toward Wenger and our club and publicly insults us. He came to last night's game with a massive chip on his shoulder and some kind of deep animus against us. He lies about our manager, smears one of our players with multiple versions of some spitting story and publicly insults our club. Alan Pardew at one time came sniffing around Arsenal for possible loanees, which we responded to. He turns around and accuses Wenger of being anti-English. There are countless example of Arsene and Arsenal helping managers from other clubs, esp. in the championship. Arsene routinely does things like calling up Steve Bruce to alert him to a player like Palacios. YET HE NEVER GETS CREDITED FOR THIS. Arsenal Football Club and Arsene Wenger should stop doing these favors to a bunch of cretins who just turn around and trash him.

To his credit jaelle, Bruce has credited Wenger for Palacios. And the few loanees he took from us during his Brum days. Also, Pardew sniffed around for Song AFTER his anti-English accusation against Arsenal. I didnt know that we loaned Hull our training ground. Just make Brown's rant even more bizarre.

Its 9.15pm and I've been listening to Stan Collymore and Darren Gough on Talksport. It's been unbelievable. The bias against Arsenal is laughable. Collymore is going on about how unacceptable it was that Fabregas was dressed the way he was! And surprise surprise they were fully backing Brown and Horton saying there's no way they could lie about this. I'm convinced the English media talk amongst themselves and though they give praise to Arsene Wenger it's done without being genuine.

Therefore the club captain at Arsenal is a LIAR. "I categorically deny that I spat at anybody after the match," said the Spanish international in a statement. "I have never done this in my whole career on the pitch, so why would I do it when I am not even playing?". Funny enough here is a clip of Fabregas spitting in the face on an opponent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vgnm4srzcdg Amazing how selective the memory can be :)

Right on iceman10, the ref is shown in the video to be just a couple of metres away about to show Cesc a yellow for the tackle. Surely if saliva hit Ballack in the face he would have been sent off and suspended... but he didn't so he wasn't.

How pathetic you are Rocky7 - which I assume is a reference to Rocastle. He must turn in his grave to hear you come up with such ridiculous nonsense which you substitute for debate and discussion. Firstly, you can clearly see Ballack recoil backwards and turn his head, and I doubt if only Fabregas's breath would achieve this? Secondly it is clearly that the No12, Sylvain Wiltord is blocking the referees view of the incident who immediately runs towards Fabregas to block the furious additional Bayern player running towards him. And considering he has shown an inability to control his temper as shown by the infamous Mark Hughes incident it is hardly surprising to hear the allegation that he did spit at people. And there are number of incidences of players spitting at others and not even getting a card let alone a yellow.

and TPowell, you can clearly see that the ref is at least 20yds away when the incident occurs. You can briefly see after about 2secs the ref's yellow shirt and then it takes about another 5secs for the ref to appear in camera. I know referees aren't the most athletic of individuals but it wouldn't have taken even the most portly of officials 5secs to cover a mere 2 metres as you suggest. If we are to believe all refs are short-sighted he therefore wouldn't have seen the incident clearly.

Number 12 is Lauren Inspector Closseau, and Bixente Lizarazu is the additional Bayern player. To use Rocastle's death to add somekidn of bizarre weight to your argument is ***** poor my friend. You want my opinion? I think it's scarsely doubtable that Cesc spat at Ballack in that scenario which was reprehensible and deserved punishment. But a) that doesn't mean he's guilty on this occasion. 22 players, 14 subs and a whole load of coaching staff went down that tunnel and Brown reckons only him and Horton saw it. If Cesc is guilty, he'll be caught and get his just desserts. Brown's story has changed a few times since then so let's wait and see before we start giving in to our prejudices. B) I sure as ***** am not gonna use the death of Blanchflower or Nicholson to try and add weight to my argument. Now, if we're dealing with unsubstantiated claims against members of our football clubs, answer my question above. Wenger was once accused of raiging his hands to a 4th officialfollowing a deafeat to Sunderland. That 4th official was sacked based on a fraudulent claim, let's wait and see before we go chucking mud at the wall.

Little Dutch, would that be the manager who successfully sued the police for the incident and receive compensation where the court described the police's actions as 'wholly unacceptable" and was cleared by the Stevens Inquiry of any wrong doing except for the slight criticism that he accepted a gift from the agent Willie McKay of a racehorse so useless it was only fit for the glue factory?

Why even mention then if it wasn't to aid your argument and somehow try and cast aspersions on the person making the comments? Shouldn't you be writing in to points of view or something?

I also would lile totake this opportunity to apologise to any little people I might have misrepresented with my comments. exactly, how is mentioning Rocky's death adding anything to the argument?

No bile filled prejudices. After all the entire headline designed to encourage comment is full of supposition. A photo is presented as proof, but with no caption indicating when it was taken, before or after the game? Someone is castigated as a liar for making some ill concieved comments in the heat of the moment, yet no mention is made of your own manager who has infamously claimed not to have seen incidents which have been so clear he could have only missed them if he spent the game with his back to the pitch .... Brown is guilty of making injudicious remarks, and is clearly back tracking in one or two areas but as now the incident is in the hands of the FA and with a complaint at the LMA as well, almost certainly cannot make a retraction even if we wanted to until the investigation is completed. The only person creating bile filled prejudice is Paul Mustchin who wrote the article and it is remarkable the editor of any site can do so. And I will say with pride that our own Oxfordspur would never pen such a piece which highlights why he is one of the 3 vital editors shortlisted for best editor at the 2009 New Football Pools Awards and your editor is not.

For all I know Little Dutch you may well be 1) From the Netherlands and 2) adopt 'Little' as a nickname in much the same way as there was a Little John of Robin Hood infamy. Rather than encompassing an entire nationality, certain usernames refer to a specific individual. And the first part of my response to their Rocky7 was boredom, that unable to respond to my first comment with counter argument, or humorous aside, he responded with comment clearly designed as a lame form of personal abuse.

wow another trophy you might win to add to the carling and peace cup sir KB. On your site we read such bollox as Human Tampon and woodgate are the best centre back pairing in the premiership, this article is calling Phil Brown a liar because he is, there are also videos of Arsene shaking his hand after we beat them 3-1 which even after a night of reflection he still lied about.

Wow, someone didn't have their Ready Brek this morning. Google the image my friend, you'll see the caption underneath from the PA, "Brown and Wenger after Hull's victory." Every time Wenger has made ill conceived comments he has been castigated by myself and others on this site, more times than I care to remember in fact. But why is that the issue here? Brown is the one making these claims, what has Wenger's past got to do with anything? Brown has put himself in the spotlight here not Wenger. Brown said Wenger did not shake his hand after the game at the KC. Errr, our survey said http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeX90B0qg_g. As for the whole "my editor could beat up your editor" thing, what the ***** does that have to do with Phil Brown lying about Wenger shaking his hand?

haha, Armory, I'm just having fun at this point. Its funny that someone who has defended 'Arry who was accused in the court of public opinion after his house was raided is so quick to do the same to something as comparatively mundane as spitting "at the feet" of an assistant manager, when there is no proof other than the words of a clearly agitated man.

unless someone took a photo of Fabregas spitting 'at the feet' of Horton or there is an official who can witness to that, the 'report' submitted by Horton and backed by delusional Phil Brown will end up where it should: the bin (unless they have a folder entitled "The Silly Ones"). If I was Horton I'd rather go find someone to confirm my story or even alone on this matter as having Phil Brown as a credible witness is like having CAshley Cole as a faithful spouse. The man was caught lying about Wenger never shaking his hand, where the incident first took place and how it happened. His ramblings on Cesc's clothes (wtf?) and that it was Wenger who influenced Riley to book Myhill for time-wasting are pathetic and borderline lunatic: I can accept all sorts of rubbish, but that is just sad. Anyway, further possibilities for evidence stretch to someone taking a sample of Cesc's saliva that contains traces of the tunnel's surface at the Emirates and an imprint of Horton's shoes next to it or the proverbial "I swear he spat on me shoes".

You gooners fans all seem to have the Wenger goggles on. This is not a slant at your club, and we were grateful for the loan of training facilities etc. PB does need to improve his media communication skills, yes, but something happened that night between both management teams - let the FA sort it out. 8 bookings, regardless of who they were for, was crazy when there was so much at stake for both clubs and not a malicious tackle all night. Let's try to take a balanced view and stop seeing the red mist against the whole of Hull.

Kaotek, I think that most fans and one of your own Little Dutch has indicated agreement, would be disgusted if any footballer of whatever club spat at another player. It does amuse me, that this boggieman 'Sir ....' seems to be on occasion rolled out, if someone remotely raises any perceived negative yet valid comment about your club. It would suggest a case of dillusional paranoia and it does seem that only one or two of your lot seem to indulge in it which is a shame because a number of the comments made on many of your articles and the banter between North London fans is often interesting. Over on the Spurs page, there is often considerable debate amongst fans on a number of subjects all signs of a healthy discussion board whilst sadly your page seems to be an indulgence in who can agree with each other to the greatest degree.

What is also very funny is that Mustchin has tried to divert any negativity away from Fabregas by saying that Brown is a liar and therefore must be telling lies about Fabregas. He might be correct and in the heat of disappointment Brown has made comments about Wenger which are not accurate but has made no mention of the fact that it is Brian Horton who has made the formal complaint about Fabregas. Can Mr Mustchin provide evidence of Brian Horton 'lying' to clear the name of Fabregas?

The real question is, can Horton provide evidence to back up his claim? There were 36 players, stewards, police, coaching staff in that tunnel. Recently United played Newcastle at SJP and the press were able to get hold of a transcript of dialogue between Ronaldo and Steven Taylor, if Cesc is guilty there is simply no way it cannot be proven. If it happened, it will out and Cesc will be rightly punished. But until then, I'll be a bit dubious about any claim made by Brown, particularly as he seems to have succumbed to amnesia, tourettes and a bi polar disorder all in one night. Plus, the man is giving sartorial advice to Cesc Fabregas? This is a man who thinks it's acceptable to look like a tangoed extra from Life on Mars on the touchline.

You are being your usual silly self kernowboy. The piece only says that Brown lied about not shaking his hand at the previous game at the Emirates. A view supported by the Press Association picture which it's own caption identifies as a gesture after the earlier 2-1 loss at the Emirates. Allied to Brown's subsequent backtracking, confused description of the 'spitting' event and bizarre questioning of Cesc's right to dress as he wishes it's proper comment. Whether Horton is correct or mistaken about Cesc's actions will no doubt come out in the fullness of time. Until then you are just wasting your time trying to invent an argument that doesn't exist.

kb71, as far as I understand, BH/Hull had not made a formal complaint. This is like this PB fella, making statements w/o bothering to get the facts right first. Anyway, PB had just been quoted (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=629286&sec=england&cc=4716) :"I am not going to report it, I am not going tittle-tattling to the FA - if they want to investigate that is their decision, and if Brian Horton wants to take it further he will get the full support of Hull City" If PB is so adamant that it did happen, what is stopping him from launching a formal complaint? It totally contradict the mental state that he is in through his slew of tirades and gestures from Tue night till now. Either the incident was a misunderstanding or one party is lying. You have all the right in the whole to believe the story of PB/BH, just as it is not wrong for us to keep faith and believe in Fab until proven otherwise

There are two reasons I didn't respond to your post with reasoned and structured debate KB ..... 1) The video you posted is so pathetically inconclusive that it doesn't warrant my time & 2) You, on many ocassions, have told lies akin to that of Phil Brown with the sole intention of sully the good names of many people on this website. Basel Tiger: at last! A considered, balanced, rational view. I would say that most Gooners have absolutely no problem with Hull City FC or the people of Hull and we would wish you well in the rest of the season. However, you have been lumbered with an ignoramous of a manager who has been coached in the Allardyce school of "big chip on shoulder." You must admit he has come across as the worst kind of sore loser. So bitter his tactics didn't come off that he was determined to make as much trouble on his way out the door. Look at how he humiliated your team back in December. The man is a nutter. To bang on and on about an off-side goal is stupid when all us fans know that we all have suffered and benefitted from this week-in, week-out and will continue to do so. Surely as a Tiger you'd prefer him to shut up with his personal vendettas and concentrate on your league games now. You should get well rid of this plonker, he has done an almighty disservice to your good club this week.

BT - As Julie says, I've got no problems with Hull City whatsoever, just the man who manages them. I don't even have a problem with the timewasting, I understand 100% why you did it, but the fact that when the ref decided to call you on it (which he was right to do as not only is it unsporting, but against the rules of the game) your manager called our manager, fans and club as a whole a disgrace ..... how is that right? If, and that the a massive "IF" right now, Cesc did spit at Brian Horton, then I bet 99% of Gooners would be mad at Fabregas, it's a disgusting thing to do, but suggest that "that is what this club is all about" is just as dispicable. I love my football club, I only love my family more, and to have this crude, patronising liar pour bile all over it just doesn't sit well with me. We had all sorts of comments aimed at us before (some of them even rightly so) about how people and players conduct themselves, but these comments and claims from Brown are (leaving aside the disgusting songs that get sung about Wenger) the most hurtful, not to mention incorrect, to date.

Brown looks like one of those people you see in Tesco's car park, who has his Bimmer parked up and makes a point of unlocking the doors with his keys and striding towards the vehicle with a ***** eating grin on his face as if to say, "I don't know if you happened to notice the car I am driving?" The man sits on a touchline with a bluetooth headset on, who the ***** is he talking to? He's already on the touchline. I bet you see him on Mallorca beaches in the summer with his sunglass lenses clipped to his specs, walking around the streets in his speedos.

According to arseblogger, Cesc was booked for shouting an obscenity at Ballack, NOT spitting. That's what Cesc said he did to Ballack -- he cursed at him, he didn't spit at him. Also, can someone here please clarify something for me? Hull beat Sheffield United in the FA cup to advance to the 6th round, is that right? Wasn't there a dodgy goal scored by Hull in that game that the ref later apologized for allowing?

One more thing, re Brown's total sore loser mentality. According to him, Hull lost the game because his keeper got booked for timewasting. That's it, the only reason they lost, and AW was responsible for getting his keeper booked. And Hull fans think that's an acceptable explanation for their loss?

Please, they should be happy they even scored that lucky goal and kept the lead for so long. Apparently the luck went straight to their heads because I can recall only one moment of a serious threat coming from Geovanni in the 2nd half. Have some grace, the same that was shown to you by gooners before when you got congratulated for beating us.

Quote from Phil Brown, from Daily Telegraph, November 10th, 2008. ''I have been fascinated by the criticism that has been levelled at Arsene Wenger over the last few days...but nobody in the game of football, certainly not at my level, can criticise him for what he has done for Arsenal over the past 10 years. He is a model for any young coach, manager or chairman who want to achieve. 'Not only has Arsene got a hold of that football club and taken them to a new stadium and a new training ground, he has taken the style of football from a 1-0, back-four mentality to massive levels of entertainment, and I have nothing but admiration for him. 'When I first came into coaching 10 years ago I had the good fortune to sit down with him to talk about management. At the time he was living in Hertfordshire, in a hotel which became a focal point for him and his initial plans. 'We spent an hour or two talking about his philosophy of the game, and it was, frankly, inspiring. There was a young foreign manager coming in, driven by a vision that he had for Arsenal. Now all of a sudden he has gone past his vision. The fans are now expecting the side to win titles year-in year-out, but he has a grander dream - such as playing entertaining football and cultivating youth. 'As far as I am concerned, he should be a template for any young coach or manager. Any one wanting to get started in the game, should study Arsene Wenger.'

Here it is: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1159482/Sheffield-United-boss-Blackwell-escapes-FA-charge-calling-referee-Walton-disgrace.html?ITO=1490 That’s a report on Hull’s 5th round win over Sheffield United. The referee incorrectly allowed an own goal, the ball didn’t even cross the line, and SheffU should’ve gotten a penalty. That's how Hull advanced to the 5th round. But you won’t hear Brown complaining about that.

At the time he was living in Hertfordshire, in a hotel which became a focal point for him and his initial plans. guddy guddy guddy...yes they did..it was fantastic resolve. no offence intended but Hull should be gratefull for the opportunity and fortune they have had this season..for coming to places like the emirates to play football. They didnt get off to a fine start by being so negative but it seems they want to drive themselves back to the championship now.

What is the world coming to??? when the likes of Phil Brown can make grand claims at the emirates...If he wants to be a great manager someday this isnt quite how to go about it. I think he has been carried away by some illusions of false grandeur and self worth. Oh for God's sake! You would think that never before had an offside goal ever been heard of. Every team in all the leagues have suffered or benefited from off-side goals and it will go on and on. Hull have edged games under such circumstances before let them deny it! Swings and roundabouts! Match stats show we had Hull on the ropes. Best FOOTBALLING team 2: Timewasters benefiting from lucky goal 1! A goal's a goal so yah boo sucks L-O-S-E-R-S!

I can't believe what I've been reading since morning... every newspaper in UK have atleast 3 articles rebuking Fabregas... whats wrong with showing some passion after such an intense game... and why there is nothing covered on Phil Brown ever after being such a sore loser and questioning the integrity of a club like never before. I cant imagin the aftermath if Wenger said somthing like that . I know the bais against Arsenal but I never knew they have sooooo much against Aresenal and in perticular Wenger/Cesc.... everything is coming out now... I guess this is all about xenophobia... and the lack of recognisation for thier talent(if they have????)... EPL is all about Arshavin, Torres, Ronaldo, Cesc,Nasri ... not about Gerrad, Lampard, Terry, Rooney... and so is the frustration of these journalist or shall I say jokers? GET AN EFFING LIFE MORONS. (P.S. I'm not aginst England just the press... I like Andy Murray even though I'm Nadal fan :D)

I never really got why it's cool to be anti-arsenal :-/ Simply the football and the ethics should have been enough to persuade most to like AFC. I wonder if people even bother to analyse why they dislike Arsenal? Xenophobia surely cannot be it, else they would dislike the other top 4 too? Oh well, united in resolve it should propel us to greater victories...

Omg look right, jaelle youre slating "Browns sore loser mentality" but Wenger is the worst sore loser in premiership history. Hes worse than Sir Alex ffs. How many incidents has he been involved in? How many incidents has your team been involved in? Infighting, Pre match brawls, Post match brawls, Eboue, Cup final brawls, plenty of in match brawls, Gallas has an incident every month it seems probably due to the menstrual cycle. Eboue. Pardew. Pizza throwing, manager arguing, manager winging, Lehmann. the list is utterly endless. Maybe this is a necessary evil, Wenger is a fantastic manager and Arsenal have had some great teams under his reign. And i will be the first to admit that people like Chimbonda, Keane and Harry are hardly shining white knights in armour - they really are a horrible lot. But what im puzzled by by some of you morons on here is how offended and shocked you are at a team like Hull coming across all Mourinho/Wenger like at you. How some of you can take the moral high ground is utterly beyond me, Wenger is just horrible and you just dont seem to grasp it. Hes the worst loser in premiership history, so to all you hypocrites who cant see this - take off your red specs and get a ******** grip

Well it doesn't surprise me that a potatohead like you wouldn't recognise class when you see it because you have always been a club of goodtime charleys and your CURRENT manager Redknapp is the commonest crook of the lot. Nor am I surprised that you find Wenger an enigma; he is a debonair highly educated intelligent manager who revolutionized the game in this country and forced Ferguson to up his game too. No I wouldn't expect the likes of YOU to get him at all. You sad loser.

You say Wenger is such a sore loser then you reference incidents involving players and not the manager... And if you lot were able to keep managers around longer than a year perhaps they could be there long enough to ruffle some feathers. Besides, we've all leveled criticism at our manager and our players, but in this particular incident they've done nothing wrong.

Oh PLEASE, HY, just for once put aside your Arsenal-hating glasses and talk sense. EVERYONE HERE KNOWS WENGER IS A SORE LOSER! You ACTUALLY think we don't know that??? I don't know any gooner who disputes that! Why do you keep coming on here and pointing this out to us? You really are totally clueless! So we're all just supposed to shut up when our team and manager have done nothing wrong and an opposition manager comes out with attacks against our club and manager? Do YOU do that? Do Spurs fans just shut up when their club is attacked despite the fact that your own past is hardly sterling? Brown has blatantly lied about our manager, and made an unsubstantiated accusation about our captain. The media and Arsenal-hating fans like you treat his accusations with credibility, whereas the media and YOU never ever give Wenger the same treatment. Brown is not treated as a sore loser, his attack is given lots of serious attention whereas Wenger's complaints are always ridiculed. He has blamed his loss on an offside goal, calling it a "disgrace" and whining about the influence of the big clubs when his team advanced by an even worse goal, a non-goal in fact. And the media are busy pontificating against OUR club, getting on their moral high horse against us. Just exactly what is it that we did wrong in that game? I'm not talking about Cesc, I'm talking about the GAME.

HY, we're all well aware of AWs past and as and when he is a sore loser again, I for one will certainly call him out on it. But what does that have to do with this particular incident or Phil Brown? Your supposition that Keane, Chimbonda and Harry are not nice people obviously means you will never again ever feel aggrieved when someone criticises your football club? I must have farted in a crowded room dozens and dozens of times in my life, that doesn't mean I'm going to relish the smell when someone else guffs in my company.

Rocky7, interesting response. I recall when I first signed on you mentioned about a previous poster called Kernowboy. I explained that I used the Kernowboy71 nickname because the original name I wanted was taken by someone else. You accepted that at the time, yet now accuse me of posting under other names. As someone so clearly supportive of using evidence, I assume you have some to support this outrageous claim. I have only ever registered under one name, the current one I use. I have never lied to the site owner, though I once asked him along with Oxfordspur for my details to be hidden as I had to leave the site for a short time and asked him to reinstate my identity when I was able to return. I have never lied to any Spurs fans on the VitalSpurs site, though like all fans occasionally have misinterpreted what other fans have written and quoted other fans incorrectly which I always acknowledge when it is brought to my attention. Clearly you rely on supposition and innuendo in place of the truth because if you were to try to use that the only person found to be lying would be you.

I think Wenger is a poor loser - I'm not sure that I would want him to be a good one. Brown's response to the defeat was ungracious and mendacious, no matter how unjust he felt it might have been, and didn't match the courtesy that was given to him and his team with their earlier victory at the Emirates.

Bayern director of communications Markus Hoerwick cleared Fabregas over the Ballack incident. “It definitely never happened,” he said of the claim the Spaniard spat in the German midfielder’s face after fouling him. “If anything of that kind happened I would have been the first to be informed and the first to do something about it.” So that ends that

BALLACK VIDEO: Listen to the Guardian webiste football weekly podcast. Raphael (one of the presenters) talks about interviewing Ballack after that match, and he didn't mention being spat at (nor was there anything in the papers at the time). Furthermore, the referrees report specifically stated what Cesc got carded for - yelling abuse at a player - again nothing to do with spitting. Can we put that video to rest now?

Oh thank goodness the Ballack thing - after what, 4 years? - is officially cleared. (But the Mail and the Telegraph and the Mirror and the Sun and such like will keep banging on about it.) I suspect Cesc's reputation of being a feisty little boy preceded him and it could have been used by the totally unprofessional Brown.

Hello all! My first post since the Man Utd game... Brown is obviously an idiot. His rant is such a load of rubbish, but the thing I find most ridiculous is his comment about how Cesc was dressed and why he was on the field after the game. Firstly, I remember watching Arsenal beat Spurs 3-0 at the Emirates and when Ade scored, he went to celebrate with a casually dressed TH14, who was injured that day but was in the technical area DURING the game. Did Martin Jol rant about that? No, because he knew there was nothing to be ranted about. And all things considered, what is wrong with the Captain of Arsenal coming onto the field to celebrate his teammates reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup? NOTHING. The spitting incident is obviously a lie. First the pitch, then the tunnel; First at him, then at his feet... Shut up. Onto more important issues. Champions League draw today! I'm nervous but very excited. Got this gut feel that we're gonna get the Champions, which would be two incredibly hard matches. But to be the best, you have to beat the best... Last thing before I sign off. Are any of you guys coming to the Confederations Cup here in SA? And have any of you applied for World Cup tickets? I'd also like to know what the advertising has been like over there? Keep well Gooners! VICTORIA CONCORDIA CRESCIT

Just a brief response to KB71- first the spitting comment was meant tongue in cheek hence the smiley... 2nd, it is actualy possible to prove you are the same as sir harry et all through iP tracing, though it is a long winded and tedious process. However, given your distinctive "style" anyone who has witnessed your numerous guises can make the connections easily. That said you are, without a doubt, the star of vital spuds, and always make the mundane articles there worth a read, so don't go changing mmkay?

As close to a climb-down as you'd get from Phil Brown the egotist: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5077323,00.html
