Photographic Proof - Brown Is Wrong

Hull City Football Club owe Arsenal Football Club an official apology. Imagine if Wenger had said in a press conference about Man Utd or any other PL club "that just shows you what their club is all about"! Phil Brown and by extension Hull City Football Club have publicly insulted Arsenal Football Club and have been proven LIARS! They have publicly smeared our great club. Our club had the class to APPLAUD their team off the pitch when they beat us in September, something Brown and Hull fans have forgotten all about. Our supporters applauded them even tho their graceless manager kept winding up our fans with in-your-face gestures and grins. The guy has absolutely NO CLASS. He's a sore loser and a LIAR. For all of Arsene's flaws, he would NEVER say something like "just shows you what their club is all about" to the press.

Next thing he's gonna say is that the guy in this picture isn't him. lol... The more you look at his quotes (if you can bear it) or, better, listen to him in the audio clips and watch him in the interviews, he looks like a guy who enjoys the media attention but has an inferiority complex that he painfully can't deal with when someone dents his confidence in himself. It's all about his own ego cos it seems to me like he's not even speaking on behalf of Hull but it's all about him and his success or failure on the line.

Altogether now, "he's cracking up, he's cracking up, he's cracking, Browny's cracking up." I'd take any sharp instruments away from him for the next seven days at least and place him under house arrest, the crazy old loon could cause some severe public disturbance. I'm going to Wembley, Browny's going to Bethlem.

He certainly deranged. And I agree that Phil Brown and Hull City owes our grand old club an official apology for the rant. We should be putting in a counter complaint to the FA. I'm not one bit surprised that the photo above catches him out in a lie.

Here in Nigeria, we have a proverb that roughly tranlated would go something like this "you cannot smack a child, and then forbid that child its right to weep" Brown, unfortunately, is no smarter than a toddler, he has demonstrated a total lack of respect for truth and an unwillingness to be graceful both in victory and defeat. Its a game, you lose some, and then you win some. Its natural to be pained and disappointed when you lose, and we at Arsenal have lost quite a bit in recent times and we've learnt to deal with it, (hell, we even applauded them off the pitch when they whupped us) but its infantile to lie against and then proceed to insult your opponents. Brown owes us an apology and Wenger and the board should demand it as a matter of course.

The main reason so many of us have been wound up today on here and vital hull is because of that 'It just shows you what this club is all about' comment. Because it's a personal slur on US. Managers/players/and staff come and go... we don't. Now he doesn't remember saying it!!!! He needs to think carefully about his next releases or statements.

You know what, looking at that picture their hands aren't actually touching yet .... I bet Arsene pulled it away at the last minute and the flipped him off, the unsporting French ********!!!

Exactly navydave, I know I should be talking about the game, our players showed fantastic resolve and skill to come back and win the game. Arshavin is proving to be a genuine world class talent who has transformed our team. I know the rational response is not to take a j-a-c-k-a-s-s like Brown seriously. But I can't -- HE HAS PUBLICLY SMEARED AND INSULTED OUR CLUB, as well as our manager and our captain. We're unfortunately used to tolerating smears and insults against our manager and players -- but he's insulted our CLUB directly, publicly. An apology is most definitely in order.

Who cares about this vain****? Clueless makeshift managers will come and go in the EPL (just like Pardew), they have zero track record to give their opinions any credence and they sport the over confident arrogance only an idiot can have, during this limited time in the spotlight they will reveal their moronic true colours and then ***** off back to the Championship or beyond. Life goes on, Arsenal win some more, lose some more, but they will do so at the highest level and have done since they existed. That's what this club is all about, Hull on the other hand...

SOMEONE ON THIS SITE SHOULD WRITE AN ARTICLE ON THE FOLLOWING: Last season Arsenal Football Club lent our training ground to Hull City Football club so they could prepare for their playoff at Wembley. Yet Phil Brown turns around with some kind of irrational, deep hatred toward Wenger and our club and publicly insults us. He came to last night's game with a massive chip on his shoulder and some kind of deep animus against us. He lies about our manager, smears one of our players with multiple versions of some spitting story and publicly insults our club. Alan Pardew at one time came sniffing around Arsenal for possible loanees, which we responded to. He turns around and accuses Wenger of being anti-English. There are countless example of Arsene and Arsenal helping managers from other clubs, esp. in the championship. Arsene routinely does things like calling up Steve Bruce to alert him to a player like Palacios. YET HE NEVER GETS CREDITED FOR THIS. Arsenal Football Club and Arsene Wenger should stop doing these favors to a bunch of cretins who just turn around and trash him.

To his credit jaelle, Bruce has credited Wenger for Palacios. And the few loanees he took from us during his Brum days. Also, Pardew sniffed around for Song AFTER his anti-English accusation against Arsenal. I didnt know that we loaned Hull our training ground. Just make Brown's rant even more bizarre.

Its 9.15pm and I've been listening to Stan Collymore and Darren Gough on Talksport. It's been unbelievable. The bias against Arsenal is laughable. Collymore is going on about how unacceptable it was that Fabregas was dressed the way he was! And surprise surprise they were fully backing Brown and Horton saying there's no way they could lie about this. I'm convinced the English media talk amongst themselves and though they give praise to Arsene Wenger it's done without being genuine.

Firstly, you can clearly see Ballack recoil backwards and turn his head, and I doubt if only Fabregas's breath would achieve this? Secondly it is clearly that the No12, Sylvain Wiltord is blocking the referees view of the incident who immediately runs towards Fabregas to block the furious additional Bayern player running towards him. And considering he has shown an inability to control his temper as shown by the infamous Mark Hughes incident it is hardly surprising to hear the allegation that he did spit at people. And there are number of incidences of players spitting at others and not even getting a card let alone a yellow.

You can briefly see after about 2secs the ref's yellow shirt and then it takes about another 5secs for the ref to appear in camera. I know referees aren't the most athletic of individuals but it wouldn't have taken even the most portly of officials 5secs to cover a mere 2 metres as you suggest. If we are to believe all refs are short-sighted he therefore wouldn't have seen the incident clearly.

A photo is presented as proof, but with no caption indicating when it was taken, before or after the game? Someone is castigated as a liar for making some ill concieved comments in the heat of the moment, yet no mention is made of your own manager who has infamously claimed not to have seen incidents which have been so clear he could have only missed them if he spent the game with his back to the pitch .... Brown is guilty of making injudicious remarks, and is clearly back tracking in one or two areas but as now the incident is in the hands of the FA and with a complaint at the LMA as well, almost certainly cannot make a retraction even if we wanted to until the investigation is completed. The only person creating bile filled prejudice is Paul Mustchin who wrote the article and it is remarkable the editor of any site can do so. And I will say with pride that our own Oxfordspur would never pen such a piece which highlights why he is one of the 3 vital editors shortlisted for best editor at the 2009 New Football Pools Awards and your editor is not.

You gooners fans all seem to have the Wenger goggles on. This is not a slant at your club, and we were grateful for the loan of training facilities etc. PB does need to improve his media communication skills, yes, but something happened that night between both management teams - let the FA sort it out. 8 bookings, regardless of who they were for, was crazy when there was so much at stake for both clubs and not a malicious tackle all night. Let's try to take a balanced view and stop seeing the red mist against the whole of Hull.

Kaotek, I think that most fans and one of your own Little Dutch has indicated agreement, would be disgusted if any footballer of whatever club spat at another player. It does amuse me, that this boggieman 'Sir ....' seems to be on occasion rolled out, if someone remotely raises any perceived negative yet valid comment about your club. It would suggest a case of dillusional paranoia and it does seem that only one or two of your lot seem to indulge in it which is a shame because a number of the comments made on many of your articles and the banter between North London fans is often interesting. Over on the Spurs page, there is often considerable debate amongst fans on a number of subjects all signs of a healthy discussion board whilst sadly your page seems to be an indulgence in who can agree with each other to the greatest degree.

What is also very funny is that Mustchin has tried to divert any negativity away from Fabregas by saying that Brown is a liar and therefore must be telling lies about Fabregas. He might be correct and in the heat of disappointment Brown has made comments about Wenger which are not accurate but has made no mention of the fact that it is Brian Horton who has made the formal complaint about Fabregas. Can Mr Mustchin provide evidence of Brian Horton 'lying' to clear the name of Fabregas?

The real question is, can Horton provide evidence to back up his claim? There were 36 players, stewards, police, coaching staff in that tunnel. Recently United played Newcastle at SJP and the press were able to get hold of a transcript of dialogue between Ronaldo and Steven Taylor, if Cesc is guilty there is simply no way it cannot be proven. If it happened, it will out and Cesc will be rightly punished. But until then, I'll be a bit dubious about any claim made by Brown, particularly as he seems to have succumbed to amnesia, tourettes and a bi polar disorder all in one night. Plus, the man is giving sartorial advice to Cesc Fabregas? This is a man who thinks it's acceptable to look like a tangoed extra from Life on Mars on the touchline.

A view supported by the Press Association picture which it's own caption identifies as a gesture after the earlier 2-1 loss at the Emirates. Allied to Brown's subsequent backtracking, confused description of the 'spitting' event and bizarre questioning of Cesc's right to dress as he wishes it's proper comment. Whether Horton is correct or mistaken about Cesc's actions will no doubt come out in the fullness of time. Until then you are just wasting your time trying to invent an argument that doesn't exist.

kb71, as far as I understand, BH/Hull had not made a formal complaint. This is like this PB fella, making statements w/o bothering to get the facts right first. I would say that most Gooners have absolutely no problem with Hull City FC or the people of Hull and we would wish you well in the rest of the season. According to arseblogger, Cesc was booked for shouting an obscenity at Ballack, NOT spitting. That's what Cesc said he did to Ballack -- he cursed at him, he didn't spit at him. One more thing, re Brown's total sore loser mentality. According to him, Hull lost the game because his keeper got booked for timewasting. I explained that I used the Kernowboy71 nickname because the original name I wanted was taken by someone else. You accepted that at the time, yet now accuse me of posting under other names. As someone so clearly supportive of using evidence, I assume you have some to support this outrageous claim. I have only ever registered under one name, the current one I use. I have never lied to the site owner, though I once asked him along with Oxfordspur for my details to be hidden as I had to leave the site for a short time and asked him to reinstate my identity when I was able to return. I have never lied to any Spurs fans on the VitalSpurs site, though like all fans occasionally have misinterpreted what other fans have written and quoted other fans incorrectly which I always acknowledge when it is brought to my attention. Clearly you rely on supposition and innuendo in place of the truth because if you were to try to use that the only person found to be lying would be you.

Ok jaelle fair post. I only made comment when it appeared that every member on VA was outraged at Phil Brown doing a "Wenger" and basically embarrassing himself. But the post before you by julie proves that not all of you realise how ridiculous it seems to people Arsenal fans calling him a bad loser. Julie, i think i do get Wenger. I described him as a fantastic manager. I also called him a terrible loser, but i guess hes just misunderstood.

HY, ok, fair enuf. I do get angry, we're all very passionate about our club. You are too. We get slated all the time every season, there's always some drama every season, it always winds me up, I post my rants and get past it. I b-i-t-c-h and whine like any supporter of any other club would, regardless of our own flaws. But for me this incident is just particularly egregious because of the way Brown has publicly insulted our club in a very personal way.

I think Wenger is a poor loser - I'm not sure that I would want him to be a good one. Brown's response to the defeat was ungracious and mendacious, no matter how unjust he felt it might have been, and didn't match the courtesy that was given to him and his team with their earlier victory at the Emirates.

Hello all! My first post since the Man Utd game... Brown is obviously an idiot. His rant is such a load of rubbish, but the thing I find most ridiculous is his comment about how Cesc was dressed and why he was on the field after the game. Firstly, I remember watching Arsenal beat Spurs 3-0 at the Emirates and when Ade scored, he went to celebrate with a casually dressed TH14, who was injured that day but was in the technical area DURING the game. Did Martin Jol rant about that? No, because he knew there was nothing to be ranted about. And all things considered, what is wrong with the Captain of Arsenal coming onto the field to celebrate his teammates reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup? NOTHING.
