Arsenal Face Villarreal In CL Quarter Final

Arsenal have drawn Villarreal in the quarter final of the Champions League.

The Gunners dispatched Italian side Roma in the first knockout stage to set up the tie with the Spanish outfit.

The last time Arsenal took on Villarreal in the Champions League was the first time either club have played in the semis with Arsenal emerging victorious after that memorable last minute penalty save from cult hero Jens Lehmann.

Should we make it through to the semi finals w we will face either Man Utd or Porto.

Draw in full:
Villarreal vs Arsenal
Man Utd vs Porto
Liverpool vs Chelsea
Barca vs Bayern Munich

Semi Final Draw:
Man Utd or Porto vs Villarreal or Arsenal
Barca or Bayern Munich vs Liverpool or Chelsea

Is it just me or has all the British media just gone crazy about Liverpool just because they beat Real Madrid and Man Utd by 4 goals? With their second leg not at Anfield, I don't think it's gonna be that easy for them.

Chuffed with this draw! 2ng leg at home, Bobby P coming back, avoid lucky/defensive/teams with Messi in the Semi's, Liverpool or Chelsea out before the semi's, Liverpool not getting the 2nd leg at Anfield (rooting for the Chavs). Rocky, which of them said we'd get to the final besides Charie?

I don't think there is an easy draw in this competition now but pyschologically we must feel positive. Villareal are not to be underestimated but it should be a good contest if we have the key players available. How must 'pool and chav fans be feeling about their draw?

I'm hypnotising myself by repeating "Let's not get ahead of ourselve, let's not get ahead of ourselves, ..." in my head. And yes, we'll have Bobby (and Pascal) back! Hope they'll have a part to play in the 2 legs. I'm also pleased that we get a home tie in the 2nd leg for a change. And re Liverpool-Chelsea, what are you talking about it being boring? Surely you won't watch that will you?! And now I'm going to any betting company that has already started offering the odds for goals > 2.5 for Barca-Bayern.

this is just out on Arsenal.com “Walcott got injured today in training,” Wenger said. “We have to test it, he has a scan on his knee today. “We are surprised and worried. He was in very good form coming back and that is very bad news for us and for England. “For the rest of the season might be too long, but he’s out of tomorrow’s squad and he could be out of the England squad. “He locked his knee so it could be a cartilage problem. He did it walking back from training. He was fully normal during training but maybe it only came out when he stopped. “We have to see how he responds today and I hope it’s not really serious.”

Decent draw for us, Chavs vs pool 2nd leg just before the FA Cup semi final should be nice and draining for them aswell. Obvioulsly Villareal will be very pumped up after us knocking them out last time we faced them and the manor in which we did so. If we get United in the semis then Its all to play for, we'll probably have to beat them a minimum of 3 times in 1 season to pick up silverware, thats the challenge and weve got to believe!

That's why I keep reading Myles Palmer. He does have his more than fair share of tosh (I once went several months without reading him), but he writes sensible stuff every so often. I don't like the thing people have of bashing him;if you think he is crap (and admittedly, he very often is), then why do you keep going there?
