Arsenal gaffer, Arsene Wenger says his latest signing, Andrey Arshavin was outstanding on Merseyside as the fan favorite blasted four goals in a spectacular 4-4 at Anfield.
Despite a rather iffy performance from an injury riddled Arsenal team, the Gunners played out an astonishing 4-4 draw with the wily Russian netting all of the North Londoner's goals.
Double A seemed to be letting the game pass him by until a got on the score sheet after some neat passing from Cesc and Nasri, slamming the ball in off the underside of the bar (I love it when that happens). He then added a 2nd, 3rd and 4th, showcasing a whole host of techniques that went some way to showing why Wenger battled so hard for his signature on transfer deadline day.
Wenger has more than happy with his display. 'His performance was outstanding, He had a quiet first half but when he comes into the game he is always very dangerous. He has personality and is a winner.'
Le Prof was less happy with the overall outcome of the game however. Speaking with Sky Sports he said, 'The game was quality on both sides but you are only half happy when you concede four goals. We are bit less than half happy because we were 4-3 up with just a minute to go. The positive is that we have a long unbeaten run and this keeps that going, and another positive is that we have shown our quality. The negative is that three points would have been better.'
