Arsenal Robbed Of van Persie

Robin van Persie will miss the first leg of the crucial Champions League semi-final clash against the old enemy, Manchester United.

In the first ever meeting between the two sides in Europe's premier club competition Arsenal will be without their top scorer after, not for the first time in his career, van Persie suffered and injury.

'Robin van Persie is definitely out for Sunday and for Manchester United.' said the Arsenal gaffer.

Whilst on the subject on injuries Arsene Wenger also revealed news of other possibilites for both the United game and the PL match vs Boro on Sunday.

"Manuel Almunia was in full training today and we`ll see how he responds. Djourou was in full training also so we`ll see how he is too. Both could come back into the squad. It is not enough training to say [for sure] yet we need 48 hours more.'

"Emmanuel Adebayor should come back into the training on Saturday. He could be in the squad.'

"Gael Clichy could be back for the second Manchester United game. He has a scan on Monday. We`ll go from there. He has a chance to be back in full training next week."

Le Boss also confirmed that Gallas and Rosicky will not feature again this season.

"Rosicky will not feature again this season." Misprint surely? That should have read, "Rosicky has actually joined a cult in Burma, he's shaved all of his hair off, foregone all worldy possessions and answers to the name Mother Shabubu. He has vowed not to play football again until world peace has been achieved and the U.S. Senate appoints a State Official for 'chillaxing and maintaining the vibe.' He has also vowed to take a vow of silence until the Czech national anthem is changed to White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane."

I think that was the last time we will see Gallas play in an Arsenal shirt unless he has had a change of heart about seeing out his playing days back home in France.

It a shame that RvP will miss the 1st leg of CL, we can only hope he'll be back for the 2nd leg. As for Rosicky there a story in tonight's London Evening Standard that's says... "Rosicky might never play for Arsenal again... that Doctors are baffled by his injury... he has only played 44 games since he was signed in May 2006!

Indeed val - it's even more astounding when you read that Sami Nasri has only played 6 games less than Rosicky.

Not surprised about Rosicky but very very sad for him and for us. The guy doesn't deserve this, fantastic talent, he'd be an asset to any team.
