Portsmouth v Arsenal Starting Lineups

Sorry guys, no match preview for this one but here are the starting lineups:

Portsmouth

David James; Noe Pamarot, Sol Campbell, Sylvain Distin, Hermann Hreidarsson; Jermaine Pennant, Sean Davis, Richard Hughes, Hayden Mullins, Nadir Belhadj; Peter Crouch

Substitutes:
Asmir Begovic, Linvoy Primus, David Nugent, Nwankwo Kanu, Angelos Basinas, John Utaka, Martin Cranie

Arsenal

Lukasz Fabianski; Bacary Sagna, Alex Song, Johan Djourou, Emmanuel Eboue; Theo Walcott, Denilson, Aaron Ramsey, Andrey Arshavin; Nicklas Bendtner, Carlos Vela

Substitutes:
Vito Mannone, Amaury Bischoff, Francis Coquelin, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Fran Merida, Mark Randall, Emmanuel Frimpong

I guess not many of us would be too nervous about this game. I personally just hope everyone comes through it unscathed and the kids will grasp the chance to show how good they are.

Come on you Gunners!

Hehe the Chinese commentators I'm listening to are saying we got many big numbers on the teamsheet, the only small one (1-11) being Sagna's. The bench adds up to like 300 lol. Captain Arshavin!

Two thoughts so far, Vela is having a stinker and Ramsey is winning a lot of headers in the middle.

Arshavin and Bendtner allow Arsenal to play better. Adebayor scores goals in an Arsenal shirt, every striker should do that. But I doubt his overall contribution when he does not work his socks off. I am a big fan, never doubt that, but I do not see him as an Arsenal striker for very long.

I agree with Tom, it's time to bring Theo inside. Next season with Theo, Nik, Eduardo, Vela, RvP, Arshavin, and Nasri, we've got some pretty tasty attacking options. Did I miss anyone? Good to see Bischoff, probably for the last time as he's probably surplus and wants to go to Portugal to improve his chances for national team selection. I figure we can get a couple of million for him, 15-16 for Adebayor - that buys us a top class central defender with plenty left over for a couple of youngsters.

I think we are after Sakho (PSG) at center back with Gallas staying for another year. But I would sign an AM to replace the position that Walcott will vacate should he move up front.

However you spin it, truth is, Ade has become a liability. You buy a striker principally for the goals you hope he'll score or make for his strike partner or team mates, on both counts, Ade sucks!

I've only just caught the goals on skyspot news, and earlier heard that Talkspot's Stan Colly gave Bendtner the MotM, was he that good? From the highlights of the goals, David James gifted Bendtner his 1st goal and nearly saved the 2nd! But that said nice to see that we won the game 0-3, maybe just maybe we can do the same on Tuesday night! Come on The Arsenal!!!

Did anyone see Real vs Barca last night? You should have seen the work ethic of the team. Messi - for me the best player in the world - was working so hard to win the ball back whenever he lost it. Even Etoo and Henry were working hard. Contrast this with some of our players against Man Utd, particularly Ade. I know I'm going over old ground but its important!

Paul's right, Eboue was outstanding, I thought Bendtner was too, he got involved in all areas of the pitch and the understanding between him, Vela and Arshavin as to rotating attacking positions was excellent. I also thought that was Ramsey's best game in an Arsenal shirt. We just seemed to click yesterday and played our football. It's a good lesson for Tuesday, let's stop ******** about and tinkering with our team to suit United, 4-4-2, our ground, our game, our football. Sadly, with Diaby and Adebayor left out it looks as though they will play and ultimately, we're going to make the same mistake we made in the first leg.

Barcelona v Real Madrid is one of those great rivalary, where there's more than the La Liga title to play for. So we can't real expect some of our players to play up to that sort of level. Adebayor didn't have a great game last week against Man utd, but he was not the only one. I'm sure the Spainish Media gave Barcelona lots of stick, after Chelski stopped them from scoring at the Camp Nou, so part of their hunger in yesterday game would have been to show not only the Spainish Media, Real Madrid and Chelski what they are capable of.

I think a Champions League fixture to reigning champions & one of our biggest rivals in the last 10 years with a place in the final at stake & the possibility of a first piece of silverware for most of these players should be motivation enough. With nothing left to play for now i dont see any reason why every player in that team doesnt run their bodies in to the ground to get the job done(or try). Frankly any player not giving their all in such a fixture does not deserve to be playing for Arsenal.

Bendtner did deserve the MotM because he was our best player, but Eboue was very good. And I agree with LD. We should play a 442. Bendtner up top with either Vela or Adebayor. Shame we haven't got Arshavin available because I would love to see Nasri in behind Bendtner. NO DIABY!!!!!
