Team News: Arsenal v. Szombathelyi H.

After over a week of two-a-day training in blistering temperatures in Austria, the Arsenal squad takes on Szombathelyi Haladas tonight in Hungary. Arsenal played Haladas last season as well, and the match ended 1-1. If you didn`t know who the Gunners were playing on that day, you would have swore we were playing a team managed by fat Sam Allardyce. It was obvious the Hungarian players were trying to prove themselves against Arsenal`s international stars, and they did this by trying to kick us off the pitch. Wenger was visibly upset on the sidelines with the challenges, but I guess he wasn`t upset enough to refuse to play Szombathelyi again.

After some awkwardly worded quotes following the Nasri injury, Wenger started an online frenzy about the fitness of a certain Crozillian. However, Eduardo is fit and in the first eleven. Still no sign of Cesc, but we should see him play against Hannover on Wednesday.

Starting XI: Mannone, Eboue, Toure, Djourou, Traore, Wilshere, Denilson, Ramsey, Song, Eduardo, Bendtner

Bench: Szcezesny, Sagna, Silvestre, Vermaelen, Gallas, Senderos, van Persie, Arshavin

The game is being shown live on Arsenal TV Online right now.

Next match is on Wednesday against Hannover 96.

Why no Rosicky? Hopefully we see him as well against Hannover.
I'm part Hungarian, and I still can't pronounce the name, but I know it means "Saturdaytown Place".
I think Rosicky is not going to be risked in the match with dirty *****. But I wonder why Eduardo is?
I was thinking the same Tom. I'm surprised we're even playing them again to be honest.
Good goals by Eduardo and Bendtner.
Yeah Gkid, good goals. Their partnership is looking good isn't it!
Did'nt I read somwere recently that Eduardo was going to be out for two month's?
Is this game live anywere?
There were some rumours going around, but Eduardo has scored 2 tonight so they are indeed false.
All goals and assists were good! :D
Hannover on the 29th, not enough gap for him to play both i guess.
Look at that. Big Phil's second game at defensive mid, and he's looking good.
Strange to see Senderos in DM again...
you beat me to it gk
What's really strange is that he hasn't looked like a fish out of water, and he's put in several good challenges. He's a smart boy Senderos.
Has anyone else's ATVO stopped working?
Yea rofl
so nobody is seeing it now?
Is it not working for anyone? Nobody got any updates?
this is pants, someone post an update
I think the reason Eddie was "risked" whilst Rosicky wasn't is because Tommy is still recovering from the injury that kept him out for such a long time, whereas Eduardo's leg break has already been resolved, he was out after one of our defenders fell on him!
It finished 5-0. Bendtner won a penalty, and van Persie finished it with style of course. My Atvo worked perfectly.
No updates just windows lamerRRRing
all of the goals are on already for those that are interested.... who knew Eduardo could take free kicks?!?!
Eduardo's superman, he can do anything!
Thanks for the link TPowell. I liked Maikel's penalty for Haladas - very stylish!
anyone notice toure started..... rumours that he wasnt even in austria!!
Yep, Dan_83, I was very please to see Kolo on the pitch for us, fingers crossed that this mean Kolo is staying with The Arsenal. This match was a good work out for The Arsenal players. Roll on Wednesday and The Grove Cup at the weekend!!!
I know it's very early days but Bendtner looks sharp and seems to be making a real push for that forward spot. Just like the rest of us, he seems to be absolutely delirious that Ade has left. Just hope he sorts out his off field ' activities ', and we could have another top striker on our hands.

great back for eduardo...we need you against england hihihi...we need you in Arsenal and national team
Toure won't stay. Just because he plays games does not mean the guy is staying. Wenger is not evil, he will give the player a deserved pre-season. He understands the importance of it.
Eduardo and RVP need to start getting game time together ...i reckon those 2 would make a partnership that will make defenses everywhere ***** themselves :)
Anyone know why Cesc isn't playing in any of the Pre-seasons?
cause he doesn't need to.... but seriously, i'm sure he'll start playing in one of the next couple
Hope so good as he is it's always good to get the feel of playing with comrad's in a competetive manner before the season starts!
Due to Spain's participation in the Confederation Cup, Cesc was allowed extra time off. He has returned to training, but it is too early to consider him for a game as yet. I suspect that we will see him at some point in the Emirates Cup.

Thank you CR! I just read Arsenal and ManC have agreed on 15m for toure? Anyone know anything further about this? Personally i would take 15m for him straight away which leaves us with 40m to spend on some desperately vacant posistions. Opinions?
Yeah, we understand personal terms agreed in principle between Kolo and City. I live in the North West, and our local radio reports that City had offered Arsenal a 'player plus cash' deal, bit AW insisted 'cash only'. I think the figure is actually 13m for the transfer, as City will pay Kolo a 2m signing on fee, as opposed to Arsenal paying Kolo any 'loyalty' bonus.
