Team News: Arsenal v. AZ Alkmaar

Arsenal host Dutch champions, AZ Alkmaar, tonight. The Gunners can wrap up qualification with a victory.

There are three changes to the starting lineup from the North London Derby. Bendtner hobbled off the field on Saturday, and he has suffered a 'serious' injury according to Arsene Wenger. Surgery could be required for Nik. Samir Nasri comes in to replace the big Dane. This is Nasri's first start in Europe this season. The other two changes are at the fullback positions. Clichy has a stress fracture in his back, so he will be out for one to two months. The more than capable Kieran Gibbs will get an extended run in the team. Also for today's math, Sagna is rested, with Eboue taking his place.

Starting XI: Almunia, Eboue, Gallas, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Song, Diaby, Fabregas, Arshavin, Nasri, van Persie

Bench: Mannone, Sagna, Senderos, Rosicky, Eduardo, Ramsey, Sylvester

The game will be on Sky Sports 2 in England, and Setanta in the States. Enjoy the match everyone.

there isn't a live broadcast available here in the states... glad to see we're doing well, should we be looking to take a couple of guys off to rest them for the weekend?

Song is beginning to add vision to his other attributes. He is becoming what we thought Diaby would be years back.

That goal was the ref's fault. A bull***** sympathy no-call caught all of our players out. Should have been 5 to nil.

Well it's not an easy call Gkid. I thought they had a quick break to be fair. Almunia could have been more alert/quicker though. A great performance otherwise, Cesc, RvP and AA got a bit of rest, Nasri made a great comeback and scored his first CL goal for us, Edu looked much better with more playing time, Song was great and still improving further, Ramsey kept kicking on, Rosicky looked lively and classy as ever and is easing back into the side. What more can we ask for? It's a couple of CL match days where some supposed giants fell short to be fair and, despite dropping two silly points last time around, we played well and looked pretty convincing. Happy days!

Was it just me or was that some shocking goal keeping from Almunia for their goal?

TP has a point about Diaby - I always wonder he works better using his intuition/talent than his brain. When I heard a comment on Nani that went like 'If he has a brain, would he be dangerous?' the Guardian podcast-hosting journalists added that could also be said about Babel. It just reminded me of Abou... But you never know, I think Eboue's brain is going through a second puberty of some sort this season. ;)

The last goal was shocking defending by Gibbs and Ramsey (and none too positive from Eboue either). Both showing physical and mental immaturity. It was a bit unnecessary for both Vermaelen and Gallas to go forward at that stage if a clean sheet was important to us but I guess if you can't do it when 4-0 up and 10 mins to play you can never do it. Great Arshavin hat trick of assists though.

Clean sheets are nice but guarantee nothing more than a draw. 5-4 is a better score than 0-0.

Cesc is playing with the cream of Europe, so why would he want to leave for a team of no-hopers who rely on diving scum to get their results.
