Wenger In Talks With Vela, Gallas & Rosicky

Arsene Wenger is looking to tie up the new contracts of the youthful and promising Carlos Vela, and the elderly and experienced duo of Tomas Rosicky and William Gallas.

Right on the back of the contract extension of Gunners striker, Eduardo da Silva, the Arsenal gaffer is seeking to consolidate his squad further by getting three very different, but equally important players, to commit their futures Arsenal football club.

Speaking of Vela he said, "We are extending his contract at the moment," said the Frenchman. "We are in a situation where we get these players in at 15 or16 and work very hard for five years with them. After that we do not want to give them away.'

'"Vela is a fantastic talent and he is 20-years-old. We have invested a lot of time for him because we put him in Spain for two years, got him back and now we work with him every day. I believe he is a Robbie Fowler-type. He needs very little time to make a decision in the box. He is relaxed when he finishes and he has very short backlift. He is aswell left-footed and he is a similar size."

Le Boss also gave a brief insight into the contract discussions for the older pair

We are talking at the moment and I am optimistic of finding a solution for both of them,"

I doubt that Gallas will sign somehow. He'll be looking for something in Italy or France on a longer contract than he'll be offered at Arsenal. Rosicky should be ok and perhaps Vela too. Both good signings but with Senderos, Gallas and Silvestre all out of contract in the summer we have a bit of work to do in the defense.

I too doubt Gallas will sign, he has always spoken about going to another league and he could probably get a good four or five years out in Italy. I also have reservations as to whether Vela will sign. There are so many players in front of him (not to mention Wilshere tucked in behind) that I'm not sure we will be able to give him the assurances he would want. Particularly as none of the players in front of him are near pension age just yet.

I was suprised that Gallas even stayed on this year .... plesently suprised might I add.

I thought Gallas might go lasy seems but it seems it was either Toure or Gallas according to reports that Kolo claims he was pushed out. I think the right decision was made and the £15m or so we got for Kolo might help us bring in someone to partner Vermaelen next season - assuming it isn't Song or Djourou as first choice.

Gallas will sign in my oppinion.

Correction = might go last summer

Vela's taking too long, it is curious. Maybe, something he wants reviewed? He will sign, eventually, methinks. Gallas is the worrying one; he appears to be playing for some 'audience' this season and does not give one much reason to believe it is us. Whatever he does, I do hope he is able to ensure we win something before he goes. Rosicky has just got to sign, surely. Not after all what the club has done (waiting) for him.

If Gallas is playing for some "audience" it is probably to cement his World Cup place. It'll be interesting to see if he wants to be here next season - as he gets older, a first team place cannot be guaranteed, and he's not the kind of guy who will be satisfied as a substitute. As good as he's been this season, I hope we can get in Hangeland to replace him.

If Gallas goes, we need to buy another defender because Senderos and Silvestre just aren't good enough. It will be sad to see Gallas go thought because of how well him and Verm play together and seem to get along. Re-Signing Vela and Rosicky will be fantastic. They're both very good players.

I dont think Gallas will sign. Djourou and Senderos can partner Vermaelen, and I have faith in both of them, esp Djourou. We might need to sign back up next season with Silvestre and Gallas gone. Signing someone in Jan might not be a bad idea to give the new signing some time to bed in. As for Vela, he should sign - he's too injured to be getting his chances. I'd be more concerned about someone like Merida not signing, than Vela.

Donate Vela to us fellas. :-)

maybe gallas wanta to leave so he can win something, before he ages

Well he won't be joining the spuds then!
Amos.
Haha 123 are you dumb? Any of your players over the last 18 years could have played for leicester City and won exactly the same medals! Sol left you and won as many titles as your club has in its whole history.

i like darren bent now

Most players tend to become more likeable once they have left the spuds. People stop taking the p!ss out of them - no longer a laughing stock - they can't help but improve.
