BREAKING NEWS: Phillipe Senderos has shocked the footballing world after admitting he will seek a move away from Arsenal in the new year's transfer window.
Is there anyone here who couldn't see that coming ... Arsene Wenger's optician perhaps, but to the rest of us it was bleedin' obvious.
Senderos is looking to secure some regular action ahead of next summer's world cup, and I think it's been made apparently obvious to him that he won't be getting it at Arsenal.
'I have held a meeting with Arsene Wenger and I hope the door has been opened for me to leave Arsenal in January,' said Big Phil
'I need to play regularly if I am to make the 2010 World Cup with Switzerland. At the moment I do not have this opportunity and I must now consider my options.'
Whilst Senderos might not have been the most talented footballer ever to grace the game, he's had to endure some torturous moments in an Arsenal shirt and he's done so without once complaining and with a smile on his face (well, more of a gormless look really).
His attitude and commitment is to be commended and I for one wish him well.
