Arsenal Draw Porto In The Champions League

The much anticipated draw for the knockout stages of the Champions League has been made, and our beloved Gunners have been paired with Porto.

Porto won the Champions League under the guidance of Jose Mourinho in 2004 and are two times winners of the competition. Arsenal and Porto have played each other two times before in the group stages of the Champions League in the 2008/09 season, with Porto taking the away leg 2-0 and Arsenal cruising to victory in the home leg 4-0.

The draw has once again been quite kind to the Gunners, with us avoiding teams such as AC Milan, Inter Milan, Lyon, and CSKA Moscow (Who wants to go there in the winter?).

First knockout round draw:

Stuttgart v Barcelona
Olympiakos v Bordeaux
Inter Milan v Chelsea
Bayern Munich v Fiorentina
CSKA Moscow v Sevilla
Lyon v Real Madrid
Porto v Arsenal
AC Milan v Manchester United

Although no team in the CL is easy, that is a good draw for us. Avoiding both Milans, Bayern Munich & Moscow and the second leg being at home. No complaints from me

I was actually watching the draw, forgetting that AC Milan was still in there and was quite calm, Porto was a reasonable draw I was thinking, and then when United got AC I was very thankful.

Mourinho back at Chelsea - thats surprising!

No complaints. But this is where complacency kicks in. You know us. :s

Stuttgart was my first choice, but how can I complain with this?

Very kind draw, indeed. Funny how these draws play out with coaches and/or players having to return to their former stomping grounds: Eto-Barca; Zlatan-Inter. Now, Jose-Chelsea and Acelotti will have to go to the San siro. Tough draw for the Chavs and Manure.

Can't complain. Chelsea and scum out of Quarters please!! Flamini can at least do us so much.
Sajit
Reasonable draw for you
