I was just about to post something like this. Good line up, more than enough for the win. Come on boys.

The Everton lineup is interesting from an American's perspective. The USA's all-time leading scorer, Landon Donavon, makes his debut for Everton. I'll go with a 3-1 win for the home side.

Sick of watching us come out of the traps like 11 doped up greyhounds. Is it too much to expect us to show desire and application from the off? I fear the worst for Denilson, he's had back injuries since the beginning of last season. It could be one of those game where our performance was awful, or a deeper problem we have at the moment. Hopefully manure lose away to Birmingham. Song was heavily missed in this game, and we never looked like we wanted to win this game. Focus on the positives and give it our all against a Bolton side with Judas/Coyle at the helm. I expect the Bolton game to be just as if not more difficult than this one.

Second a comment: the snow ended up affecting our passing game on the wet ground, with some of our players just back from injury too. I wasn't saying the club should have postponed it cos it didn't suit our game - that'd be a stupid logic.

There's really no point us bemoaning the weather, injuries or the colour of David Moyes' bobble hat. We screwed up today. As nikolaijns said is it really too much to expect our lot to apply themselves right from the off? We seemed to respond only when we went behind. Joke performance today, looked like we were playing with no holding player at times, really shambolic from front to back. Only Diaby can take any credit from this game, Everton played really well but there really is no excuse for the frightened little child performances from the majority of the team today.

Exactly, no excuses. We have undersoil heating ffs it's actually warmer if you go to ground which may explain why a few spent so long down there! Watch winter games from 30 yrs back - you had to stand in a snowdrift to take a throw in.

it wasnt our best performance and we still came away with something from the game, so it's not that bad a result as our performance was. the impact of this game will only be felt if we dun win our next two games, away trips to Bolton & Villa. no point dwelling too much on what happened today, we played poorly, got a point so lets move on and be prepared for the fight we gonna face in our next two away trips..

Diaby tried to play penetrative passes through the Everton defence but failed and the crowd got on his back the rest of the match, this had a visible effect on his game as he refused to play these kind of passes. No excuses for the performance though. I think Wenger will look at another midfielder now as the injury to Denilson might be long-term (he might need surgery to mend this back problem) .

ARGGHHH Den just came back from injury. Arsene was trying to look calm citing Bendtner coming back as a reason for him to be 'relaxed' about signings. Everyone sees we are indeed in need now. So much for gamesmanship Arsene haha, just spend a bit of cash please.

Just back from the game. Some of the negativity shown by gooners ate the game is disgraceful and i see the same on this board. After 15 minutes so many groans and sighs, like how dare we be a goal down at home. When will people realise that getting on the backs of our players is more likely to produce a negative reaction. I am no fan of Almunia and today he was pretty poor again in my opinion, but groaning at him the first time he kicked it out p****d him off and then he continued to be pants. No reason for this game to be called of julie. The pitch was fine, outside the stadium was ok and it only started snowing at kick off. Not enough to call a game off, it wasnt dangerous. Lets get behind our team till the end of the season please

Paul - I saw Almunia chuntering to himself for a long while after the crowd gave him a severe amount of stick for kicking the ball into touch. The thing was that it was a really bad Gallas back pass (that he dealt with well considering) that gave us a problem. I'm by no means a Almunia fan but I thought that was alittle out of order.

Just back from the game and echo the comments by Paul about the negative Emirates crowd. Honestly, people just don't know anything about the game and yet love having a dig. It was a poor performance but we're missing three of our best and most influential players this season - Cesc, RvP and Song - and Everton had everybody behind the ball and were absolutely committed not to lose today. They deserved a point. Thought Nasri, Vermaelen and Diaby did well. Arshavin looks out of sorts and his body language doesn't hide that either. Clearly disappointing to drop two vital points at home but you guess you can't win 'em all at home.

Totally agree with paul_ownz's assessment of a section of our 'home support'. A number of fans need to look at their own performance today and wonder if they are helping the team they profess to support. I cant understand why Nasri is played upfront in Cesc's absence when he and Rosicky are the most natural replacements for our super catalan captain. There was nobody pulling the strings in midfield for us today and Everton's high intensity pressing game threw our passing off gear very easily. When Arshavin is playing upfront and Cesc is absent our midfield seems to lack some directness in their play. We could do with a targetman on loan, if nothing we could get Arshavin back in the playmaker role. He seems under utilised at present. Diaby got into a number of positions to pull the trigger but did'nt do so. Everton gave 150% in the filed today and we looked a bit taken aback by their intensity. All in all, a trifle dissapointing but we are still in the mix. Onwards and upwards.

we were dreadful - i dont care if we didnt have song, fagregas or van persie. we showed no desire, no hunger, no class. The weather was shocking, but we showed snow effort. This was a brilliant chance to take advantage of chelsea not playing, and we bottled it - now we have no game in hand an we are 3 points behind - i know it sounds pessimistic but that was our title chances hit massively - especially since we were so outclassed at home, by a team that is fighting for a mid table place

Dan, you need to go back to school mate. We may not have been at our best today, but Everton played out of their skin. You can't just dismiss the absence of key players like you just did. It's your type of negativity that gives gooners a bad name. Yeah, we didn't take 3 points today, but we had enough character to come back and not lose. That Everton team is better than their current league position suggests (don't forget they held Chelsea at the bridge a few weeks back). Today might not have been vintage Arsenal, but stop acting like a spoiled brat. We can't expect total football every week, but what we are getting this season is some serious 'digging deep'. So be a good gooner and get behind the lads. C'MON YOU GUNNERS!

Listening to some people talk its as if we should be guaranteed 3 points against every team below us and get 3 points every home game. Everton are no mugs and they would of been hurt by that 6-1. They set up really well and battled, closed down and counter attacked very well. Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say the opposition were very good and we did not to deserve to win. Not everytime we dont win its because we showed a lack of effort or desire. We were missing players, weather conditions were not good and we came up against a very good team, end off.

the number of shots on target by Eduardo in this season is very alarming. We desperately need a strong striker. Ramsey was very poor in this game.

If someone asked you before the game if you'd be happy with 1pt at home against a team we beat 6-1 away ...would you have said yes? We're in a tital race and Everton have being awful this season and it's game's like this we should be winning. We played terrible until about the last 20 minute's. Ramsey had a just awful game. There's no point suger-coating it, we were *****.

fuikaka stop moaning it is ugly sight! we beat them 6-1 with cesc, RVP, song, clichy and eboue in our team sheet. the performance was rubbish, i still think the desire in the 2nd half was there. at 1-1 we were closer to the 2nd goal, just we went forward with our hearts and left ourselves exposed at the back. we had to play this game we cant afford more postponed games as we are having more games to play in the CL and FA cup .. a point wasn't the hope, but it could prove decisive, coming may.

FuiKaka, nobody is saying we could not have played better yesterday. But the sense of entitlement that you have is shocking. No credit to the opposition, the conditions under which the game was played, or the players we could not put out on the field today. The game yesterday was no disaster. There are 18 games to go and we are just 3 points behind Chavski. Please for heaven's sake get some perspective.

I hv just watched the game again with less stress and think that despite the fact that we were poor, we really showed desire especially with 15minutes to go when we were pressing very hard for the 2nd goal then got caught. Our attack was very static and the midfield uncreative. Everton played very well and got in our face. I was a bit dissapoited that Everton did not stop when Deni went down clutching his side as it was obvious he was in trouble. What the **** was Traore doing today he was awful, I like the way Sagna took control of Traore and tried to encourage him, Almunia has not given me any reason to be happy at all this season. To come back twice showed character especially the injury time equalizer. Was Arshavin playing?? he only seem to come to life towards the end. I think Diaby should have been in the centre mid field right from the beginning.

It is not an excuse to say that we are missing players. If you took Xavi, Messi and Ibrahimovic out of the Barcelona team, would they be missed? Eh . . . I think so. I believe that for us the absence of Song, Fabregas and Van Persie is quite comparable. Statements like "there's no point in sugar coating it, we were *****" are not only asinine, but also wildly unfair. Everton would have given anyone a run for their money yesterday. Get behind our team.

Forget who we were missing - did the players out there perform to their potential? To me the answer is no, and that was a disappointment. Everton were the better side marginally but I think the result was fair. We were dominant before their 2nd goal, and I fancied our chances of a winner for a while. Several poor performances, but a couple of them performed creditably - Nasri was everywhere, did very well in trying to find the creative spark, but it was too much for him to handle alone. Diaby and Ramsey didnt have a good game, but they werent poor. Traore was poor, but he's our 3rd choice LB, and this sort of performance had to come at some time. Almunia saved us a point despite looking poor for the 1st half, but I wonder whether he's going to get any credit for that.

I wouldn't be too cocky JT, your side are not the rock they once were. Your side is even worse than ours at defending set pieces and Super Frank is having a shocker! In the latter half of the season fixture pile up is going to be a factor for everyone, but Chelsea have some old legs that might not hold the pace.

Just rewatched the game now and Almunia is def a problem now. He needs to get his confidence back quickly or be given a rest. He punted the ball out several times, played a poor quick pass to Sagna which left him in a heap, came out for the ball for the first goal leaving him in no position to try and save the header(which wasnt that cornered), took out Traore. And although it was a vital save Amos, it was quite a poor shot which should of been saved. Like i have said previously, i dont want to kick a man when he is down but i do want what is best for the team and im starting to think on current form he is letting the rest of the team down.

I agree Paul, he is just not world class. A decent keeper, who Wenger plucked from obscurity, but not a keeper with any real presence and despite his good record at saving pens, he does not inspire confidence.

Pienaar today is saying it was lucky Aluminia was already on his knees because it made the chance easier. Says it all really. I find our keeper a bit of an enigma...some games he comes for everything and other times he looks like a headless chicken. He clearly has no confidence in Traore, which is hardly surprising. Just imagine where we'd be in the league with a truly world class keeper between the posts.
