'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Gerrard Shocked By 'Crazy' Decision

Stevie 'Bum-lick' Gerrard says that he was surprised that the bestest referee in the whole wide world, Howard Webb, missed Cesc's handball in the dying seconds of Arsenal's 1-0 victory at Ashburton Grove last night.

Gerrard claimed to be shocked that his good buddy Howard Webb, the bestest referee in the whole wide world, didn't see the Arsenal captain raise his arm in the wall as Liverpool looked to salvage a last gasp equaliser.

Despite the fact that the ball was nowhere near being in the area when it struck Cesc's arm (why are so called football pundits saying it should have been a penalty because Fabregas foot was on the line?) Gerrard labeled Webb's call to play on as 'Crazy'.

'The referee told the Liverpool wall in the first half that if anyone raises their arms above their waist he was going to give a penalty,' said the Liverpool skipper

'So for some crazy reason he didn't give it. He told me after the game he hadn't seen it.It was unbelievable and I can't believe he didn't see someone raise their hands in the wall. We know over the course of a season sometimes you will get decisions and sometimes you won't, but something so clear as that was hard to take, especially with the referee being Howard Webb.'

'I would say he is one of the best referees in the league so I am very surprised he didn't see it.'

I'm not entirely sure why Gerrard was surprised he'd missed it when he missed the the England midfielders blatent dive earlier in the game and the even more obvious dive a mere 2 seconds before the free-kick was awarded.

Gerard's a cheat, he's also stupid as the incident clearly took place outside the penalty area which means that it cannot be a penalty. How f***ing stupid are footballers? How two faced is Gerard also with his blatent diving all night that he got away with then moans when the referee doesn't give an incorrect decision? Wan*er.
LondonGooner
Let him whine, he knows 4th spot hope has taken another dent and is scared.

100% agree. What i dont understand though is why Fabregas didnt just head it. If you look at it it was going straight at his head
paul_ownz
It was an odd thing to do by Cesc because whilst he definitely wasn’t in the area, he was pretty damn close. One step back before the kick was taken and it would have been a penalty. It was an expert piece of judgement on his behalf. I wonder if he thought that a booking (and a therefore sending off) was worth it in order to stop the strike reaching Almunia?
Sir Henry
Cese used his hand to protect his face. We see many players do that. Also, he was NOT inside the penalty box. Ask gerrard to stop barking, and to stop diving like a sissy.
fcdematthew
SH, that's what I thought. I thought he'd decided to take a hit for the team to ensure the victory.

Good call, rocky. Gerrard is a ******** hypocrite and I feel no sympathy for Pool. That free kick should not have been given in the 1st place coz of his pathetic dive. Rafa and Gerrard are highlighting this only coz they know Pool was ***** poor on the night, and they need to talk about something else to deflect the attention.
prits
Makes my blood boil how Gerrard seems to be repeatedly diving in every single f----g game lately yet the media refuse to demonize him the way they did with Eduardo.
jaelle
Gerrard and Benitez dont have a case for penalty by any stretch of imagination. That said, I hope Pool maintain 4th place over Citeh. If City gets a CL spot, it would open up a whole new world of possibilities for them with regard to player recruitment. With insanely high wages and CL football on offer, even top notch players wont be out of their reach. Besides, pool fans are so much more cultured than some of the new city ones!
Deltaforce
It doesnt matter where cesc's foot is, it is where the ball was and it was outside of the area, it should have been free kick and howard missed it, ah shame, like he also missed the blatant dive by Gerrard just before the kuyt went down (also very easily). But oh well, we didnt get a penalty when Hleb was hacked down and they got one when Toure brushed some diving scouse git, game over get over it, we won..............
Harry671
Gerrard is acting just like PV4 did in his final season with us, my money has him moving to sunny Spain in the summer
bootoo
"pool fans are so much more cultured than some of the new city ones!" -- LOL, damned straight! Amazing how money turns perfectly reasonable, nice people into obnoxious, arrogant gits. Also much prefer Pool in 4th spot to City (or Everton or Villa for that matter).
jaelle
Yeah, where did all these new City fans come from? Where were they when City were battling relegation a few seasons ago?
gronedrone
No way a penalty - obvious. But, to be fair, if I was a Liverpool fan I'd be pretty annoyed at Webb missing it.
ChaosTeaCup
Some bad news emerging about a medial knee injury to Song. It does sound bad. Hope atleast Arshavin recovers quick from his hamstring strain. Following and supporting Arsenal is truly a roller coaster ride.
Deltaforce
@Bootoo, he won't go to spain mate. English players very rarely have the desire to learn another language or indeed live in another country - the distinct lack of English exports of evidence of that. It's especially true if they are exceptionally thick.
Gunnerman
@Deltaforce - apparently he could be back next week, if not then the week after. So not all bad. However knowing us it could be the same as Bendtners 6 week long 2 week injury.
Gunnerman
he dived like hell..what do u say abt urself mr. stevie g??
fayxaan
Jaelle I totally agree with you. It's amazing how much he gets away with! Dudu does it once and he's slaughtered. I'd like to see the same happen to Gerrard, but I doubt the press will ever do that! All in all a brilliant victory and we're right back in the hunt!
Cesc is King
Gerrard was a disgrace, last night. Such blatant display of diving should be discouraged and he is now becoming a serial offender, in this regard. I also thought Ref Howard Webb was determined to get L'pool a draw with the number of questionable calls he made. Credit to the Arsenal players for taking it all on the chin and getting on with it.
Naijagunner
I used to have a lot of respect for Gerard, now it seems everytime i see Liverpool play the **** can't get off the floor. Dick.
FuiKaka
@ NGunner - Yeh i was getting VERY frustrated at the end. After 80+ minute's it seemed everytime and Arsenal player went near a Liverpool player they got a free kick. Some of those decisions were complete *********, including the free kick right at the end. If they'd scored that, there would've been uproar from Wenger and our end.
FuiKaka
I used to like Gerrard. Till he became a p.rick.
