OH SHI-
MrE._Man
If you pull this off, it'll be legendary. Good luck.
Teddy_KGB
Ouch. Dont fold thats all. Please.
Sajit
Is Iniesta on the bench? The idea of both Xavi and Iniesta (with Messi) on the pitch together scares the c-r-a-p out of me.
jaelle
Just 20 minutes to go. I think I'm going to throw up. Seriously.
julieloveshenry4ever
Good luck tonight from a former 19 route bus driver that watched your ground rising into the sky.
SFC Forever
Thanks SFC, we'll need it. We are sending out the most patched-up Arsenal side you are ever likely to see. Hail Mary full of Grace...
julieloveshenry4ever
Silvestre vs Bojan...not that sicken afterall?...I dont know, but come one you effin GUNNERS
ajwb
mismatch between silvestre and Messi,
49ers
It's nearly time.... Remember 2-1 to the Arsenal and as Arseblogger says, it aint over till Susan Boyle sings, or something like that... COME ON YOU ARSENAL!!
Keplaz
Living on a prayer. Can not recall the odds stacked up against us more than tonight. Just hope the lads give their all.
Deltaforce
I'm already very proud of the boys. :)
GoonerLou
Okay..now im bricking it
ajwb
"DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT.........RAGE, RAGE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT!"
julieloveshenry4ever
Arsenal have won all 3 of their CL games with Wolfgang Stark as referee, including their famous 5-1 win at Inter Milan in 2003. Barcelona have never won a European game refereed by Stark.
gunnerkid107
man we are being slaughtered again we need to close them down sooner
Armory
YEES NIKKY B YEEEEEEES
ajwb
I don't ******** believe it!!!! but it is far to early I am afraid.
Armory
MEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!
Tony Rocky Horror
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
julieloveshenry4ever
As soon as I stopped my ecstatic jumping around, I thought "Well it's good to get going, cos they WILL score", then they did. Argh what was Samir thinking, giving a short pass to Silvestre of all people in our box like that?!??!??!! And I'm surprised Silvestre just gave the ball back to Messi like that, not!! Well it was fun while it lasted. Let's score again now.
GoonerLou
Now keep it like this till half time and there may be a little hope.
Armory
Is Silvestre going to be your Archilles Heel ? Still, Barca's defence looks none too confident either.
ZeeNut
Too early my Arsenal!! We can get more. If we get a second, it'll wind them up. Come ON!!!!!
julieloveshenry4ever
No this is ok, honestly. We'll get more.
julieloveshenry4ever
no julie we'll only gift them one back;)
Armory
We can gift them for every goal we get as long as it ends in a high-score draw. Come on!!!
julieloveshenry4ever
Those Barca players go down like ... ugh ... what cheats.
ZeeNut
Everytime they fall, they need to roll over twice .... believe that's the rule in Spain .
ZeeNut
The ref is buying everything Barca are selling him. We have to overcome almost everything you can possibly have infront of you in football.
ArsenalRob
Ya know, I watch Barca every week, I love watching them, I'm a huge fan, I know they do simulate but I don't recall a first half in which they've dived this much. Maybe it's my Arsenal-colored glasses, but I really am a big fan of this Barca team, I don't look to criticize them.
jaelle
the kid cant be stopped
Klutch
Needless to say the english pundits will be saying it,s because Arsenal are a dirty team and only play long ball and try to kick the opposition off the park...........
Armory
Me too jaelle, I'm surprised at this scale of simulation. And we need Silvestre to roll back the years, not Diaby - why did he shave his haid?
ArsenalRob
I absolutely despise Barcelona. Not only for their off-field tapping-up antics but for all this cheating. I finally get the ire of Chelsea fans.
julieloveshenry4ever
I fear for us here. Messi is just unbelievable. For me, he's much better Ronaldo. No shame in losing to this team and Messi who is just simply on another planet.
Gooner_Vin
julieloveshenryforever spot on about the high scoring draw thing Barca need to score two for every one Arsenal score, and that's a big advantage.
Tony Rocky Horror
Bad luck that now keep believing boy's
Armory
What I love is how all of a sudden there's all these Barca-loving fans in England who say we were outclassed, praising Barca to the skies, and trash us all the time for cheating and diving we supposedly do -- totally ignoring that the team they're gushing over do plenty of cheating.
jaelle
MEssi's on FIRE . 3-1 Barca.
ZeeNut
er scrub that...Arsenal are *****ed.
Tony Rocky Horror
Outclassed by one man.I have to admit it
ajwb
Why did this have to be against Arsenal? I fear this could be 6 or 7.
Gooner_Vin
Aw crap it's over now.
Armory
Well that's it then.
jaelle
No point ruing the wrong offside call on Bendtner, someone might say?
GoonerLou
Tony - you said "Barca need to score two for every one Arsenal score, and that's a big advantage" - thats incorrect - they just need to score 1-more than you (get a victory) & they are through.
ZeeNut
As amazing as he is, Arsenal are never going to win anything unless they do better defensively against the very best sides. I know you don't all need me to say it but we're getting repeatedly, and quite easily, hammered by the likes of Chelsea, Man U and now Barca.
Gooner_Vin
And yet...you were two behind at the Emirates and got back and it was much later in the game...it actually isn't over yet.
Tony Rocky Horror
naw lou they are simply the better team nuff said pointless in looking for any excuses
Armory
zeenut I do believe they learned that watching the Arse
keefdayid
TRH, we have had to bow before Messi today but then this is the champions league. Ever experienced watching your tiny tots playing in the CL? You have to live vicariously as a Barca fan to derive sensual pleasure! Loser.
Deltaforce
IT'S NOT OVER!!!!!
Tony Rocky Horror
Score early in the 2nd half again? :p
ajwb
I wish I could say that this kind of battering can finally make Arsene understand that focusing on our defense would be a nice priority to take up instead of collecting loads of attacking midfielders, and that bringing in someone like Silvestre is seriously taking the mickey but...
jaelle
its not over yet if you can score 2 in the second half for no reply then you have done it. its not impossible just difficult
keefdayid
Did I mention anything about excuses? It was a wrong call, that's all I'm saying. It's a 90-min game but we do need the defence to be better, tough ask with Silvestre in there and no Song in front of them. They just need to take that short break at half time and stop panicking. In midfield we need the same composure in our passing to keep the ball better and create some more clear-cut chances.
GoonerLou
Excuse me. As Tony says, IT AIN'T OVER! We were two down and buried last wek. Come on Arsenal! We repeat that, we go through. Come on!!!!!!!
julieloveshenry4ever
Well we've done well with 10 of them. One of them (I won't reveal which) is just a bit too good. We did leave him a bit much space for the 3rd though. I don't see us winning from here, but we could well give them something to worry about in the 2nd half.
ArsenalRob
There is a famous American racing driver who once said "I'd rather be lucky than good" ..... unfortunately for us Messi is both. All three goals have come from extremely fortunate bounces of the ball for Barca, and then finished off with a touch of genius. If the ball would have dropped to anyone else other than Messi we'd still be winning. When you're facing the best player in world, AND he's getting the rub of the green, we're really in trouble. I tell you another thing too .... as good as he is, I'd love to slap that s*** eating grin right off his face. lol
Rocky7
Excluding implosion, I will be immensely proud of these lads no matter what happens in the 2nd half. Bendtner's goal was unbelievable. I wanted to get up and punch the air, but I couldn't. I just sat there, hands on my mouth, shivering with disbelief. Incredible.
ArsenalRob
man 45min felt like 2hours, worest game i have ever seen.
collow
Well Rob, the second one also made me wonder a bit 'Where's Clichy?' too. It's the best player in the world we're talking about though. I said I only wanted to see the team to give their all and do us justice. We're putting up a fight at least.
GoonerLou
F.U.C.K off Deltaforce i'm trying to be freindly, like i said, and supportive, by accentuating the postitives! Look back at my posts! As if football fans don't relentlessly take the rise out of each other all the time anyway!! Soft lad.
Tony Rocky Horror
not over til the final whistle boys. i have a feeling ur gonna score early second half and then again late on. come on arsenal. snapp messi's leg and u can do it
black-messi
In fairness to the lads they've done alright considering who we're facing, where we're facing them, and who we've got missing. We were also robbed of the chance of putting ourselves 2-0 with a bad offside decision, the ref is a c***. 1 quick goal in the second half would see Barca be worried .... but a quick goal from them and we'll get murdered.
Rocky7
Do one TRH. I have seen your crappy posts on Vital Spuds enough to know that you are one heck of a piece of work. Do one.
Deltaforce
Not sure about you guys. I'm having to put up with two commentators who're sucking up to Barca and Leo Messi like slaves. Very tempted to use you-know-what to watch it in English instead. But I know they're all the same lol.
GoonerLou
At least tonite we are playing just a little better than at the emirates. Its a difficult game without Fab, RVP, Song, Gallas and Arshavin. It really is a tough fight back.
phreddy
Do you know what would be interesting - Stoke vs Barcelona. I honestly think they'd take your advice black-messi. I wonder what that game would be like...
ArsenalRob
Yeah you won't get any better here Lou ... especially with Richard W*nkStain Keys. "If you're not an Arsenal fan you'll be loving this" C***.
Rocky7
Rocky, you're right, our players actually have done better than th first half from last week. It's just the same defensive errors, which are worse when our best defense isn't out there.
jaelle
LOL, Stoke v. Barca, that would be very interesting to watch. Assuming of course some idiot like Coward Webb or Mike Riley was assigned to ref the game.
jaelle
As i was saying, you scored two goals in the second half in London, so why not now?? Barca will take their foot off the gas at some point, stand back and start admiring their work. This will be your chance.
Tony Rocky Horror
TRH a small number of fans of all teams can not understand how many fans of other clubs want to see Arse win because they are an "English" team but we still want to take the pi5s at the same time
keefdayid
Yo Andy Gray .... how about you wipe Messi's belly butter off your chin you brown nosing jizz gargler.
Rocky7
Going well then sweethearts ;-)..... Could have been a nice polite discussion about a bloody good football showpiece BUT deltaforce had to go and get all aggressive. WHY??.. TRH was right, there IS still time for you to get this back. Remember, if you get the 2 late goals you got last time out, you'll win. Simples... Why can't that happen?.
coopsieyid
Kick these arrogant *****, please make 3-3.
ACLamp
Coopsie - Because they're *****ing all over us ... lol ... I'm as opotmistic as the next man and will always get behind the boys, but the chances of us pulling this off are slim to f*** all.
Rocky7
Delta-so you've seen my posts. So what!!? Have i ever hid the fact i'm a Spurs fan? Have you ever sung the Lasgane song? Ever made reference to Spuds??? See me p.i.s.s.i.n.g and moaning about that? There's plenty of abuse to go around on both sides so stop whinging and crying and sort your act out.
Tony Rocky Horror
Krist, the place is being overrun by spuds...
jaelle
ArseRob ROFL I bet they would fail to defend the throw in, and how many times would they have to roll over after every tackle?
keefdayid
We're really being shown that our brand of beautiful football isn't really that effective when it comes to the very top teams. Message to Arshavin: take note of Messi, that's how you play, with desire and not carelessness.
Gooner_Vin
Yeah ... spuds who seem to be supporting us ... its quite un-nerving. lol
Rocky7
Argh Richard Keys! >_< Here the Chinese commentator said after Messi scored the third goal, 'Job done then. If I were Maradona, I would be calling Guardiola to take Messi off right now.' And just now, 'Well looking for positives about Arsenal? There's almost none' with a 'hehe' added at the end. Don't you just want to punch them?! Almost on Keys' level eh!
GoonerLou
coopsieyid, first of all there was no invitation for spud fans in the first place on this match thread. This is our CL thread. Secondly I didn't know TRH was a minor and that his elder family members had to look out for him.
Deltaforce
TRH you are a spud fan who has registered himself on VA. And you are asking me to sort my act out? Get a braincell.
Deltaforce
I'm really proud of Clichy though, he looks to be back to his best.
Gooner_Vin
Not listening to or watching the game. Is Eboue on yet?
jaelle
No jaelle, Eboue is not on yet. Eduardo and Merida are warming up on the sidelines..
Deltaforce
Good sub Arsene
ArsenalRob
jaelle, that's because we like to be where the excitements at ;-).. Rocky7, lol fella, funny and honest.. Deltaforce, I realise there was no invitation but is there really any harm being done if we're not on here being the 'total to55ers' you're expecting us to be?. English team doing well in Europe = More English spaces in that competition. If English teams don't do well in European competition we will lose a spot from the league placings. NONE of us will be giving a flying feck about which of us get's 4th then.. So as much as it pains us (and you) there are supporters out there that want English teams to go as far as possible in European competitions. As long as you don't win the fecking thing of course ;-)
coopsieyid
Looks like I was not following the match myself. Eboue is indeed on!
Deltaforce
Fair enough coopsieyid.
Deltaforce
Can't eff-ing believe it! Eboue was just running with his arms raised, ok yeah hit Sergio's face, but did he have to drop dead and roll around?!?!?! Yellow eff-ing card for that?!??!
GoonerLou
Pathethic Yellow for Eboue. Sergio must be the theatre personality of the year.
ZeeNut
I heard Eboue's on to poo on Messi
ajwb
I've got no problems with the Spurs fans here, infact they seem like a good sort. Back to the match .... f*** this referee.
Rocky7
Why is Rosicky still on?
Gooner_Vin
I've just done a little nugget of poo in my undercrackers.
Rocky7
I have officially joined the ABB Club.
julieloveshenry4ever
Barcelona are starting to slack. Either complacency or they're getting tierd. One goal now and it's game on.
Rocky7
Are acting lessons part of the training regimen at Barca ?
ZeeNut
Arggghhh you have to feel for Nik tonight!!!
GoonerLou
So can I ask a question? Why is it that this Barca side works so hard when they don't have the ball and other sides, like us, don't? Is it coz we can't or won't?
Gooner_Vin
Rocky7, you said "they are****ing all over us".. Mate they were doing that in amazing style last week in the first hour, it was like watching a sunday under 12 team play against Man Utd (absolutely no offence meant by that), but it made no difference in the end. You came back then and you CAN do it now. Now I CAN'T bring myself to say "Come on Ar......" no can't do it. But I'm rooting for your boys out there...
coopsieyid
I do watch Barca quite a bit but it seems to me that they're diving a LOT more than they do in La Liga. Just like Jaelle, maybe it's me being a Gooner. But I do feel they're play-acting is worse than usual.
GoonerLou
Please get 2 more.
julieloveshenry4ever
Delta,I made a mistake in registering on VA? A common or garden F.U.C.K up. That's why i announced my prescence by saying 'hello, Spurs fan here, i was wondering what you made of our game against Fulham last night?' Trawl back and find that post. By christ, i bet you've got a face only a mother could love: you've manifestly got the intellect to match it.
Tony Rocky Horror
I see where you're coming from CY, but do great sides like Barcelona make that kind of mistake twice? We do it consistently, but I just don't see them doing it. That said I've been quite encouraged with the last ten minutes.
Rocky7
Feck it Rocky, I'm going to throw this one in anyway: is there any good news yet? :)
julieloveshenry4ever
coopsieyid, the trouble I'm having is that your lot are always saying we're NOT AN ENGLISH TEAM! We get that from so many quarters, always amazes me there are any nongooners who say they support us in the CL because we're English when so many in England trash us for not being authentically English.
jaelle
They work so hard off the ball that they must tire at some point right? Now is the time to score one and we're back in it...!
GoonerLou
Well as a very wise man once said Rocky7 (and he wasn't a shabby player either ;-)), "It's a funny old game".. If it helps though, I'm more than qualified to help you deal with the disappointment if it comes along lol... As your supporters are so happy to remind us ;-)... Keep believing fella..
coopsieyid
Never thought I'd say this but I actually hope Inter eliminates Barca, and I detest Mourinho. My stream's back on and what I've seen is a Barca that is way beyond their normal simulation/gamesmanship routine.
jaelle
Oh dear Iniesta....
GoonerLou
Oh well, at least we can concentrate on the league now lol
Gooner_Vin
Iniesta's on...f--k
jaelle
Lol - Thanks CY, but we've become quite acustomed to dealing with disapointment ourselves this last four/five years. Such is the life of a football fan. That said I really can't be too disapointed, given our depleated line up and facing the best team in the world, it was always a long shot anyway.
Rocky7
*sigh*
jaelle
Exceeding your intellect requires only a single brain cell TRH. Jog on.
Deltaforce
Just to add to the embarrasment, we had to let in a 4th. Mickey mouse defending as per normal.
Gooner_Vin
Once again, a mix of genius and luck, ***** it, I'm off to bed.
Rocky7
4-1 to Barca,4-1 to Messi. Game over, bar the shouting.
ZeeNut
jaelle, I hear you loud and clear fella. But it's not fair to generalise and paint us all with the same brush. It is the Premier League that they are representing, just as Milan represent Serie A, Barca represent La Liga etc etc. So as long as there is a team from the Premier League still in the competition, I will wish for them to go as far as possible BUT as stated earlier, I'd prefer for your lot not to actually win it. You've already got the Premier League title "Top 4" trump card to throw in our faces, I couldn't bloody handle the Champions League thing aswell ;-)
coopsieyid
Well at least the game only went dead after 88 mins.
GoonerLou
I ******** hate Messi.
ptv-
How luck can one player get? Oh well,i'm happy to lose to Barca rather than any other team
ajwb
I'm with you Jaelle. I kinda hope Inter do them. Now that will be a real contest coz Mourinho will know how to stifle them, not like Arsene.
Gooner_Vin
you have to admire the guy that was increadible
keefdayid
Yeah, that's it for me. If any of you spuds were here GENUINELY trying to "support" us in your own way, it was much appreciated. At least it made for an interesting thread. :-) Not too gutted--much as I hate Barca's performance, I'd rather go out to them than Utd or Chelsea or Liverpool.
jaelle
coopsieyid, fair enuf. You sound incredibly reasonable, far better than a lot of the spurs supporters we get over here. Very strange. :-D
jaelle
Oh well at least we gave it a go. We seriously need to look at the injury situation and find out why this happens season after season. I think with a full strength team we would not have beaten barca tho, they are such a fantastic team.
Armory
Hope Barca stuffs Inter Milan. They deserve to go on and win this.
Deltaforce
All these spud ********s are not here to support us but to take the *****. Just ***** off.
Sajit
Rocky, to be fair I think both of our clubs should be overjoyed with the season we've had after the injuries we've had to endure. I think it's not unfair or unreasonable of me to say that you could well be league champions this season and we'd be well and truly cemented in 4th (or higher) if we'd had our full squads at our disposal all season?.
coopsieyid
hold ur heads high gooners. nothing u can do when there is a player of that quality getting the rubb of the green. he truly is out of this world. maybe a full strength arsenal would have made more of a game of it but as it is barca will win again this year
black-messi
I'm a Messi admirer too. We lost to him and only him, dare I say. No need for excuses cos I think the lads did well consiering the circumstances. But I can't help but think that all the incidents favoured them - wrong offside call on Bendtner, ref buying all their rolling around antics, us hitting the post, etc etc. The margin's small but every single thing went for them.
GoonerLou
Jaelle, Arse are an English team after all you have 1 English player on he field LOL
keefdayid
Ah well. So Barca can beat our Carling Cup Squad, so what? Come on INTER MILAN. Oh and Real Madrid on Saturday night.
julieloveshenry4ever
OH, unlucky tonight aswell. I didn't watch the game but from listening to the guys on SSN and reading what you've all been saying on here, Barca deserved to win?. And as Gooner_Vin said, you can concentrate on the league now!!
coopsieyid
There's just one difference between us and Barcelona - They close opponents down. We are SOOOOO easy to play against because we don't have players who chase balls they lose. Diaby may have had a part in our goal but for most of the match he's been jogging around. Again after the first 20 minutes we were content to watch Barca pass the ball without tackling. When we did it we were threatening. When we stopped the spaniards started scoring. Too TIMID Arsenal. Too TIMID.
Wyn Mills
Wyn, that's what I've been saying for at least 2 seasons, I'm so tired of going on about it and watching us consistently fail to close opponents down.
jaelle
If you're going to loose, you may aswell loose to the very best.
Tony Rocky Horror
lose
Tony Rocky Horror
Well beaten. Please give us Premier League title this season. congratulations to Barca. We are nowhere near Barca in all aspects over the two games.
fcdematthew
Now brace ourselves for those who look back and ask why Arsene didn't bring in a better CB than Silvestre, etc etc. No matter how awesome Messi is, we just have to put up our hand and admit our defence indeed needs work when you see your manager sends on a RB for a CB when he can't play the other backup CB on the bench for his age or fitness or whatever.
GoonerLou
Sajit, so much anger, its not good for you, I am honestly a little sad that the Arse lost tonight now I will have to cheer on Manure and that is painful!
keefdayid
We need real battlers in midfield Jaelle. We have to learn the dark arts as well as the pretty football or we'll always always fall short.
Wyn Mills
Theres a few more reasons aswell Wyn Mills dont lie to yourself. Having said that i thought with a makeshift side that was a great, great attempt against the best team in the world and you should be proud of your team
HuddersfieldYiddo
No shame losing to Messi. If there's any team - or any player to do it almost single-handedly - I'd rather it be Barcelona and Leo Messi and absolutely can't think of anyone else. (Just imagine getting knocked out by the b@5t@rds in white with Ronaldo scoring 4, that'd make me literally sick!) Chin up Gooners.
GoonerLou
sajit, I HAVE NOT been taking the**** out of anybody.. jaelle, there is enough trouble in the world fella, what's the point in looking for or creating more?. I don't like Arsenal, you know that. But that doesn't mean I wish you all dead or hope you suffer any harm etc. Obviously when it comes to it being 'YOU against US" I hope you fail miserably and suffer an extremely unlikely humiliation. However, that's where it stops because if I'm honest, I couldn't give a damn about Arsenal at any other point of the season. If they lose, whoopie f***ing doo, something to take the**** out of my few Gooner mates for a week. If Arsenal win, I get the**** taken out of me for a week, but that's it.. So if I offended or annoyed anybody on here tonight, I apologise wholeheartedly. I meant any malice, would never mean any malice (you got to allow me derby days lol) and was GENUINELY wishing you all the best tonight.. Regards - Stuart "coopsieyid" Cooper
coopsieyid
Deltaforce they desrve to go on to win this??? like coz they beat you easily ?? Wyn Mills ...thats quite a few differences!!!
springy
Thanks guys, amazing to see a few Spurs fans around here rooting for us for once and talking sense too. Let's stop feeding the obvious troll and get the meaningful chat going. Don't waste your time on even replying.
GoonerLou
Villa Fan here, Must admit im gutted you lost tonight :( I wonted u to win and then win the cup. If it wernt for Messi i think you could of wraped it up, Abit harsh on the diving doe didnt think they needid to cheat like that, Anyways goodluck in the league!
Blitz
looking forward to our meeting next week, looks like we might have Lennon back, should be a good game again.
keefdayid
jaelle, THANKYOU. And thanks to the other Gooners who have been more 'accepting' of me. Good luck for the rest of the season (not next Wednesday obviously). Heads high guys and gals. No shame in going out to the best team in the world, with the best player in the world, and in the QF of the Champions League.. All the best.
coopsieyid
OH 1 more thing.. p.villa is just a harmless fisherman out looking for a quick bite, just don't take the bait!!
coopsieyid
The best team won. That has to be what you judge any football match on irrespective of your allegiances. In under 12 months they have bettered us Chelsea and ManU. Whatever regrets we might have about the team we were able to put out it would still have been tough even with a full complement of first choices. We will get the chance to test ourselves against them again.
Amos.
All we asked for was to put up a good fight and I thought we did. I'd thought I would want Barca to go on and win it as I've always admired them. But after tonight, I'm with Jaelle, I'm having difficulties wanting them to win. They're so good, why all the cheating? Maybe deep down they knew we could do some damage despite the desperately depleted squad? Funny how we're complaining about their cheating, and being criticised for our fouls (whether they indeed were fouls or not is beside the point). Seems like a strange role reversal.
GoonerLou
Spot on coopsieyid.
p.villa
In a way, it's absolutely great what happened. We met the best team in the world and were able to see how we measured up. Hopefully, this team will learn so much from this and use it to inspire them. That said, given that we only really go for two trophies each season, our next trophy does seem far away.
Gooner_Vin
Yep Coopsie you and all reasonable football fans like you will be welcome. Hopefully we'll also be in a better mood after the NLD hehe. ;)
GoonerLou
Yeah Vin that's true. We got well beaten and Arsene must see the need to improve/strengthen our squad. But he/we also see a lot of positive signs from the lads despite everything. The mental strength we've shown this year is truly commendable. The technical and tactical skills we can always improve with coaching and with the young players gaining experience. The only thing I keep worrying about is our defensive frailty (goalkeeping included), which I'm afraid is a bit of a weakness in Arsene's armoury cos he's such a attack-minded manager.
GoonerLou
Lou, well maybe as much as the players will learn from Barca, maybe Arsene will learn something from Guardiola and how to combine the beautiful game with winning.
Gooner_Vin
Cheers all :-)..
coopsieyid
Coopsieyid, i take stick off aresnal fans nearly every day and there are some real****s, im simply just givin out what they give to me, i over stepped the mark on some comments tonight i apoligise to who i offended i normally only stick to the football banter and wind fans up but i went abit too far tonight.
p.villa
You guys should be proud. I am disappointed your co. couldn't shut those arrogant muppets.
ACLamp
Honestly aside from Leo Messi - nothing you can do about the best player in the world, by far in my opinion - we can indeed match them player for player, even including Xavi and Iniesta. But three persistent issues remain as the biggest obstacles to us winning the two major trophies: (1) Injuries - this happens season after season, we really have to do something about the injury problem. (2) Pressing off the ball - we did it brilliant against Milan for example, but when we face the top top teams like Barca, ManU and Chelsea, we fall short in this area. (3) Defensive organisation - especially when this 4-3-3 we're playing, we especially need the DM and full-backs to be more solid than before. Otherwise this formation enables us to try and score more but also get more exposed defensively. I dare say we only lost to Messi but games like these do highlight these problems we have.
GoonerLou
I understand we had 5 first team players missing today but I'am disapointed with what was on show from the guys today. Return to the beginning of the season and we were doing exactly what barcelona do e.g. pressing high up pitch, winning back possecion, movement off the ball, slick one-two passing first time. And it worked - we were on target to finish in triple figures for goals scored. the 4-3-3 was working. And even if we lost to manu and chelski twice, we did not get played off the pitch. And so it comes to playing Barca. And boy was it hard to watch. I mean if barca can play like that every game - the high pressing and constant movement off the ball ( throughout the match!!) just like we used to play earler in the season, is it so flippin hard to do the same? Look at the way Diaby played today - was he actually cutting of angles ? well it wasn't much good ,'couse they always had someone to pass to. I recall maybe twice in the match did he attack the ball, and once it led to our first goal. second point- we get the ball back somehow and what happens? They obviously crowd us out immediatly ,but if there are three of their players around - where , i ask where was an arsenal player supporting or offering himself for a short pass? and boy did we loose possession like a pub team. Rosicky , Bendtner, Diaby -first touch was fkin AWOL. On a perfect pitch, no fkin excuse. Clichy shooting twice ?from where? what was that about? too much watching messi me think. I'll leave it there. could carry on but what the hell. Let's have a shot at the league, eh?
Paulo Gun
as much as i hate you gooners i would still rather have you guys succeed over spain
RagingSpur
That's the point...Barcelona combined beauty and the beast tonight. They played brilliantly when they had to,but had no problems resorting to the sly fouls and exaggerated dives when they wanted to slow things down. They stopped us playing...as most teams who succeed in beating us do. Yes, Messi was absolutely unstoppable, but if you allow Barcelona to pick and choose their passes in midfield you can expect no less.
Wyn Mills
When is the club Releasing the last 20 minutes of the 1st leg and 1st 20 minutes of the 2nd leg on DVD :) The galaticos did this to Manchester United a few years ago with Fat Ronaldo (before he was really fat) scoring a hat trick at old trafford and united got battered in the Bernabeau. After playing Real any other team United played seemed to be a relief for them and they duly went on to win the league, we wont face that again all season so if we show the same application we will take the title race to the final day minimum.
iceman10
Paulo, couldn't agree more mate. Frustrating thing is we showed that desire and attitude early on in the season. Suddenely its not there? WTF! I'm not sure I'm totally onboard with all this talk of mental strength either. Too many players jogging back to their positions and passing opponents WITH the ball without even bothering to challenge.
Wyn Mills
We were totally MESSI..ED! He's such a Wonderful Player, unbelieveable, amazing! Good luck to Barcelona in the Semi, and hopefully in the Final! I hope our players are not too down beat, as we had a huge Mountain to climb! Thanks to Super Nik for giving us some hope even if it just so short-liven! Oh, well we now have nearly a week to patch up our players ready for the NLD! Come on Arsenal!!!
hackneyval
p.villa, not one of us stopped anybody from making football remarks, did we? Your twisted view of Gooners - or Gooners around here at VA - was what made you say what you did. It was entirely unprovoked, uncalled for. I was really tempted to delete some of your comments but took the liberty to let it go as you're clearly the odd man out and everyone knows what it's about. Glad you realised it. I wished Villa or Everton would challenge for 4th and won't let someone like you tarnish the image of Villa fans. Now stop embarrassing yourself or your club though.
GoonerLou
Iceman - yes, I remember that well, I was thinking it was similar to our experience here with Barca. That was the Real of Zidane, Ronaldo, Raul and Roberto Carlos, and they did pretty much the same to Man Utd.
Gooner_Vin
Lou - your analysis is spot on but I don't agree that we can match Xavi and Iniesta - not yet anyway.
Gooner_Vin
Just got in from watching us get mullered. Ouch! Read through the comments and fair play to the spud boys - good banter all round chaps. We got owned big time tonight and deep down it ended the way we thought it would pan out. Proud of the lads and shame we couldn't of taken them on with a couple more of first teamers. Still checking out the humour of coops, keef et al I gotta say the vital network was the winner. F**kin' luv u Arsenal, no change on that front!

Does anyone know if Song's injury is short-term or what? We defo need him back for the NLD and so on. And from Wenger's pre-match comments on Sol, it seems that he'd pick him ahead of Silvestre if fit. So if Sol's back next week, either he or Song should partner the Verminator at WHL then?

Wyn Mills & Paulo, my sentiments exactly, re our desire, attitude and the pressing game we used to be so good at, early on. When previewing the first leg, I had opined that we will do just these better than Barca. Alas! I was wrong and didn't know I was calling it against us, instead. I can't help thinking how this game could have gone if we got a 2nd goal to get to 3-2, with 5-10 minutes to go. Certainly, they would have been under pressure and get nervous. However, we were admittedly, well and truly beaten by a very good side with a genius on their side. Lessons will have to be learnt and it was very pleasing to see Pep show us more respect than the evidence of the game showed; like he expected us to, actually, do a "resurrection" act. Well, it's back to the EPL now.
Naijagunner
Err..it was Walcott who set up Bendtner's goal. Admittedly Barcelona then made sure at least 3 players were closing him down after that, and he wasn't exactly helped by lacklustre performances from Diaby, Bendtner and Rosicky. All three seemed to be taking great delight in losing possession and offering precious few options to Walcott.
Wyn Mills
Wyn Mills....Walcott did his best to murder that goal, it was just Bendtner's persistence that got the ball home! Walcott shouldve had a shot himself, he actually passed the ball behind Nick and Alves almost got the tackle in.
Will-i-am10
Wasn't the best pass....admitted. But he was there to beat the defence and Bendtner was in a better position IMHO. Bendtner also doesn't have the quickest feet, although credit to him for getting up quickly to poke it home.
Wyn Mills
I really don't understand why wenger insists on playing walcott on the wing because he is clearly very bad there as soon as he has to control the ball or dribble he is lost,i see walcott a bit like owen was but less technical with the ball but someone who could be so useful down the middle either his pace would scare team and could hurt them in behind but also he would make teams sit deeper in fear of being caught in behind. I remember wenger playing henry as a winger a few times and he was not that good and we all know henry at least had a good technique and footballing brain but theo clearly doesn't so should be left to use his speed up front, yes his touch his poor but bendtner is the same so at least you would have someone who could harass the defenders and not bendtner who just walks not doing anything. Nasri really proved what the overrated all about dribbling and bottler he is today, this is the 4 big game where he has gone missing and for someone who is supposed to be a play maker all he wanted to do was show off while dribbling and then losing the ball and not having the will to get the ball back. Really whenever arshavin is fit he should be given the free role in behind as he is after cesc the best passer and most likely to pick someone out and not dwell on the ball the way nasri and rosicky were doing tonight. Arshavin was right to say you need older heads because players like nasri, walcott and diaby their heads just went down after barca scored the second goal, only clichy played like veteran today which could mean bad thing as he was seen by the real madrid and barca. You need at least 4 players of a good age, someone like krasic, mahamadou diarra, nedum onuoha would also be good playing alongside vermalen.
garrincha1982
Arsenal didn't plat too badly against barca but they failed to capitalize on the errors which u guys forced by pressing. That was a very ingenious tatic but everytime u got the ball by this method, in the final third, u failed miserably to make the most of it. Gael clitchy and bedtner were two of those main culprits. Had they done better with those opportunities u cud have easily levelled the game. Poor guys i wish u the best of luck for what remains of this season and hope u guys maintain the challenge for next season. Good luck coming from a chelsea fan, a fair one at that. :)

apologies for the silly comments by a poster from Villa last night. Have removed them this morning and the replies (so they replies don't look a bit mad talking to something not there!) I should have my vitalfootballadmin login for this doo dah but it is early and I'm being lazy! Banter etc is ok on Vital but we do like to rise about the petty stuff. GoonerLou, you'd have been more than welcome to remove the comments and replies so as not to have the thread decend into playground stuff. Will also email rocky today as it is much better for you all to nip these things in the bud rather than have the slanging match! Don't for a minute think those views reflect on all us Villans, just the one who was posting. Sometimes users get carried away but usually we manage to get them to settle into the idea of Vital Football. Banter and proper football talk is most welcome, abuse or pettiness is very much not! Onward and upward, as per post in the other thread, think your guys did you proud, you were just 'done' by the best in the world, Messi. Not much difference to when Fabregas came on for you folks against Villa and transformed the game and result! Bloody Fabregas!!!!!!!!!!! Plenty to hold your heads high about and the league isn't over yet either!

Chelsea fan here......you guys did your best despite handicaped and im glad you saw for yourselfs how girly they are......you can barely touch them and they fall screaming in agony and the refs fall for it everytime......maybe now Chelsea will get some credit for what they did to a stronger Barca last year.
atomis
Springy, i wanted barca to win the competition because they are imo the best team in the competition. They have beaten all three of the English big 3 in the last year and I would rather see them win playing some football rather than watch Mourinho serve up yet another s*it on a stick display of 'football' and grind out a victory.
Deltaforce
Fair enough Atomis..Barca take a fall too easily and are adept at the dark arts of the game. But they play some great attacking football and watching them win is more a celebration of the game than some of the other clogger teams in the competition. Inter Milan are like a high level Bolton or Blackburn in the way they play their football. Man U without Tevez and Ronaldo are not the counter attacking masters they were and are quite dull to watch. Lyon and Bordeaux are good footballing sides and deserve the current spotlight they are getting.
Deltaforce
Morning Gooners. I am not here to cause trouble or say anything about the game last night. Messi would have destroyed most teams in that form. I just want to know Honestly what you think the outcome of the game at WHL next week is going to be? Away banker or closest for years in terms of players on the field??

There were 300 arse fans in the pub last night calling for wenger's head. You lost to the best team in the world for **** sake not Dagenham and Redbridge! Talk about fickle!

Inter will most definitely lose to Barca.....My brother is a Gunner and he's not mad at all you lost. Too many injuries for you guys not been good but you still have done well.

Arsenal fans are no more fickle (or less I suppose) than anyone else's. A look at the comments section of most Vital sites - VS in particular will confirm that. Most gooners accept that we were beaten by the better side on the day. We get another go at the CL next season.
Amos.
atomis, we aren't getting any credit for sure.

guyz can I just add u played very well,it was only te brilliance of messi tht did u in...nothing to be ashamed of if ur beaten by a gr8 player...as a chelsea fan i think if u guyz buy wisely in the summer u will be the team to beast next season as both us and manu will be in a sort of transitional phase..lot of our players are coming to an end of their career and it will take time for the new arrivals to settle in ..say like maouda...he has took his game to a different level this season
kishaloy_nag_blue
KNB, while we didn't exactly learn from our mistakes in the first leg by - affording Xavi, Messi & Busquets too much time on the ball, defending at a very high line with slow defenders like Silvestre, pass completion under 60% accuracy and not pressing Barca to win the ball back enough, your thoughts are very kind! Thanks and all the best in the remaining games.

Match Report?
Gunnerman
atomis: "maybe now Chelsea will get some credit for what they did to a stronger Barca last year" -- I think you were given some credit, atomis, but I agree you weren't given enuf credit. Watching the 1st leg last week, my thoughts immediately went to Chelsea's 2 legs v. Barca last season and my original estimation of your display went up. I was one who didn't credit you guys enuf. You were able to frustrate Barca very well and lost only because of poor refereeing and 1 moment of brilliance from Iniesta. Frankly I don't think Chelsea would've given Barca as much room as we did and I don't think Inter will either. Appreciate all the good sentiments from all the supporters of other clubs here, esp. our 2 fellow London clubs spurs and chelsea.
jaelle
Paul and Wyn, re our pressing game earlier in the season: I've been asking WHERE THE HELL IT WENT TO for months now. However, much as I've been ranting about our off the ball movement and need to consistently close down the opposition, we should remember that it takes an awful lot of energy to do it all the time. Even Barca don't do it all the time. Against very poor teams in La Liga they don't need to do it as much. Against stronger teams they pace themselves so as not to tire. Notice how they did tire against us and started to slack off after about an hour, it is a very exhausting tactic, not even the best teams can do it for 90+ mins. in every game. PLUS - Arsenal play in a league with no Xmas break and in a faster, more physical league than La Liga. Our players would be even more exhausted and injured than they already are if we kept it up all the time. Still, your general pts are spot-on: we need more discipline, workrate, sharpness, precision and consistency in our off the ball movement. But we also need to work harder at KEEPING THE BALL against top class teams like Utd, Chelsea and Barca. It's not very difficult for them to take the ball away from us - even mid-level teams can sometimes do it fairly easily without kicking us.
jaelle
LD is in Barcelona, so the match report will come later in the week, unless he doesn't get around to it while on holiday. Could you blame him? lol
gunnerkid107
jaelle, I agree with all your points with one observation. Against the Mancs and the Chavs we kept the ball quite well in atleast 3 out of the 4 annual games, the reason we lost was because of massive individual errors and being absolute s*it when facing a counter attack.
Deltaforce
delta, true enuf, you're quite right and my original point should be amended accordingly.
jaelle
Barca are a fantastic team but I don't think Man U and Chelsea are that far behind. Perhaps they don't have the flair and technical ability of Barca but they can certainly compete with them. We've played all 3 clubs twice this season and the only game we did well in was the away match against Man U. This was the one game where we nearly had our full strength team (think Cesc was the only one missing). It shows we've got a good first eleven but if we get injuries we struggle for replacements. Man U, Chelsea, and Barca can cope when 3 or 4 first choice players are missing but we can't. They have much greater spending power than us so there isn't lot we can do about that at the moment.
bowiecokemirror
I was with some Catalans last night and we had a brilliant evening culminating in me teaching them to sing 'Are you Bolton in disguise?' and 'one Kevin Davies, there's only one Nicklas Bendtner'.
lordjohnny
I've watched the games again and while Barcelona is obviously a team operating as near to perfect as I've seen the Arsenal players looked star struck. If they had little cartoon thought bubbles over their heads they would say, "WTF? They're passing! Is that allowed?" I love Arsenal and I believe in the long term project that Wenger is obviously not finished with but until we have players who genuinely believe they belong among the best and understand what it takes to beat the best I think we'll continue crossing the finish line second or third best. Cesc is by far my favorite current player but if he remains our uncontested "best player" it won't be good for the team or him. I look at our squad and while I believe almost all of them are good enough to hold their position in the squad the problem is we have a whole team full of "good enough to hold a position" players. Rosicky, Diaby, Denilson, Theo, and a few others are excellent players but they would obviously not be first choice at the clubs we are looking to catch up to and surpass. I'm not looking to splash the cash, but it would be nice if some of the fans were a bit more realistic with their expectations. This squad was never good enough to take a full strength Barcelona without a super heavy dose of luck. It didn't work that way. Maybe next year.
smithdj74
As far as i'm concerned, you can't go to Barcelona and attempt to beat them at 'playing' football. You need a grinding, Italian style, you need to limit them as much as you possibly can. Arsenal seemed to be saying to Barcelona, "whatever you do, we'll match it",ánd that, frankly, was suicidal. Ok, it may not have worked anyhow, but you've got to wise up a little and try. Sometimes, no matter what you do, you aren't the better team and you have to modify your approach. For all Wenger's brilliance as a football pioneer, his inablity to adapt is his achilles heel for sure.
Tony Rocky Horror
I agree with almost everything you say smithdj74, but with one modification. It's not that we're better than Bacelona, because we're clearly not, but I honestly think we would have had a great chance of beating them if we truely believed that we belonged at that level (most our players clearly don't believe that) and if we had had at least some of our injured players back. I accept that we should expect injuries at this stage of the season given our record, but the level at which they have hit us in the last few weeks in particular this season is just extraordinary. Of course, to beat a side as good as Barca we would've needed a dose of luck anyway, but I honestly believe with a close-to-full-strength team that dose wouldn't have had to have been as large as you may imagine. We're not as far behind them as we think. As for reinforcements, I think it's just fine-tuning this summer. Renew Gallas' contract, add one more CB to compete with him, get rid of Silvestre and get Djourou feeling sharp. I personally think Eduardo isn't really capable in this 4-3-3 formation, but with his recent return to fitness and contract extension it would be harsh to let him go, and that means Chamack probably won't be coming either. I'd rather make that swap, though. But the main focus in the summer has to be getting the likes of Rosicky, Eduardo, Djourou, RvP, Gibbs back to their best, really pushing the likes of Vela and Wilshere to compete for places and drilling it into all the players' heads that they ARE at least on par with Europe's finest and that they need to be competing in every competition as though they are expected to win. I'm not the kind of sp*d-like supporter who blindly believes in 'next year' - this pre-season I would very gladly have settled for the season we've had this year - but I genuinely think we're right on the brink now. Next season we have to play like we're champions, whether we officially are by then or not, because I honestly think we have the best collection of players in the country, this season we have seen them become close to the best team in the country, and next season I expect to see us close that particular gap.
ArsenalRob
Excuse the long post, just needed a bit of a ramble.
ArsenalRob
That's a fair assessment AR. The issue with that then is injuries. I know every team gets injuries, but look at our record. I often wonder if we're seeing the effect of Wenger's diet restrictions being pushed too far. Our current crop of players would be the first ones that have had the heavy restrictions placed on them while they are still developing in their teens. Is it possible that a lack of dairy among other things at that stage in development leads our players to be more injury prone? I remember a few years back one of the NBA players who was a strict vegetarian had multiple breakdowns the docs attributed to lack of meat and dairy. Eh, maybe there is nothing to it but it's a thought.

Hey Tony *gasp!* I'm in complete agreement with you re Wenger's approach to Barca. Really hate to say this but this week I've had the thought in my head that AW will simply never win the CL if he doesn't change his approach to big games like this--study opponents, come up with a tactical plan, give his players clear instructions, modify our style and put the fear of death into them if they're not disciplined to enuf to carry them out. One problem we consistently have is relaxing a bit once we score--we did that on Tuesday, we did that against Liverpool 2 seasons ago, and we were punished for it. That problem is never addressed. As for bringing in new players...as I've said before, there is too much emphasis on this as the end-all and be-all solution to our problems. What good does it do to bring in new players if they're still not drilled defensively, to keep their discipline and concentration once we score, to press and press to fight for the ball and keep it, to track back, focus and work hard for 90+ mins? As to self-belief, I thought that was one of AW's greatest gifts (as Merson and other former players have so often said: Arsene's ability to instill incredible self-belief). Yes, Barca pass and move brilliantly but it is their WORK RATE, teamwork, concentration and collective discipline that makes them champions. La Liga is full of teams that pass and move the way we do, which is why Barca didn't have too much difficulty with us. They have more difficulty when they come up against the likes of Chelsea or Inter because they don't face opposition like that very often. Still, two excellent pass and move teams in La Liga--Sevilla and Atl. Madrid--did come up with good tactical responses to Barca this season and defeated them. We have better players than either AMadrid or Sevilla but unlike those teams we did not go out there with a clear tactical plan. We still may have lost, esp. given all our injuries, but at least we would've had some kind of studied approach to them.
jaelle
Sorry for no paragraph breaks, I lost those para. break marks somewhere, how do you indicate them again?
jaelle
BTW, today's Arsenal.com has an interesting interview with Colin Lewin regarding all our injuries: http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/lewin-the-reasons-for-our-injury-levels .
jaelle
jaelle I agree re defensive signings needing to be drilled, along with all our players, about collective defending in a way we don't seem to do now, but still the personel behind Gallas and Vermaelen in the pecking order aren't right at the moment, and hopefully if we can sign someone experienced and assertive enough, he will command more of a collective responsibility towards defence throughout each game - the best way to get that done is through the coaches, not signings, but that's clearly not happening. As for Arsene's motivation skills, I think they will drop as long as we go without a trophy. Nomatter how good he tells the players they are, they won't really believe him until they prove it to themselves. Unfortunately their lack of belief is their self-fulfilling prophecy at the moment, and I'm starting to think that if we have to make ourselves believe enough to win something next season, before this talented generation begins to accept mediocracy, or move to pastures new.

Jaelle, read Colin Lewin's interview and he seemed to believe our injury problems are much the same as other teams with 90% (or so) Internationals, who have to play as many games as the average Arsenal player. It would seem the number of "traumatic injuries" (7) this season has surprised even him. While I agree with the effect of the number of games we have to play, I don't know about our injury woes being at par with our contemporaries. Rooney only had his first injury, all season, against Bayern in Munich and was to be out for 2 to 3 weeks. He returned to play after one week, for crying out loud. I've got to ask: Is that kid human or just suicidal?

johnny's just jealous we've got Vital's best writer. Certainly no spud can match the quality of the writing here. And what a loser of a life you have, johnnyboy, if the best laugh you have for 4 days is the best team in the world eliminating us from the qf in the most prestigious football competition in the world. A competition you'll never experience in your entire little life.

naija, Lewin's responses were ok but just not all that convincing to me. I too was struck by Rooney this week--hardly ever injured and when he is he's out for short periods. Same with Cronaldo when he was at Utd. It just seems that Chelsea and Utd have far shorter injury recovery periods, and that they have fewer players injured, and that they just seem to cope better. Utd, for example, have had their 2 best CDs out for long periods this season yet they still manager to be #1 or #2 in the table almost the whole season.

Nice comments from Fernando Torres about us: "Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has backed the Gunners to take the title. 'I want Arsenal to be the champions,' he told CANAL+. 'They have the best fixtures of the three. Wenger deserves to win the title and to be imitated for his work he has done in his time there.'" http://www.hamhigh.co.uk/content/camden/hamhigh/sport/story.aspx?brand=NorthLondon24&category=Sportarsenal&tBrand=northlondon24&tCategory=sport&itemid=WeED09+Apr+2010+13%3A15%3A47%3A177
jaelle
Further to Jaelle's comments: Arsenal should have: Played five across the midfeild with the extra man deployed as a sweeper to protect the centre-halves. Messi loves to pick the ball up from deep and run at the defence. A Diarra type player would have tipped the game in Arsenal's favour. Kept the ball! Even if you have to play it across your back four every now and then, it's no problem! Patience is the key. The opposition can't hurt you if they don't have the ball!! If you have to give them the ball, let them have it, AS LONG AS THEY AREN'T GIVEN THE SPACE THEY NEED TO PLAY IN THE FINAL THIRD!! It doesn't matter how technically gifted they: force them into a situation where they would literally have to score a wonder goal of serious proportions to win! Go man for man, and CLOSE THE SPACE AND THE ANGLES DOWN TO LIMIT THE RANGE OF THEIR PASSING!!!! They can't hurt you if they can't see clearly the pass they want to hit. There's actually no real great science to this, just hard work and dilligence.
Tony Rocky Horror
Btw, anyone see SAF celebrating his horse's victory at the races? He seemed happier than when ManU went 3 up against Bayern. Plus he was there with his old pal, fat Sam, whose Blackburn side ManU meet this weekend. With the curious name of the Horse- what a friend (or something like that)-, anyone thinking what I am thinking or am I just paranoid?
Naijagunner
Naijagunner, I one for one am thinking exactly what you are thinking. Rooney will be rested but United still win 2-0 against fat sam without breaking a sweat. Fat sam probably says this in the post match interview - "I thought we atleast deserved a point from the game..but some bad decisions from the refree and some bad luck mean that we are empty handed despite our endeavour."

Indeed, Delta. Sam's always played the lap dog to Sir Alex and will not stop now, I guess; even with the prospects of Rooney not playing. He's also one of those managers who has something irritating to say post-match (I wouldn't bet he disappoints me tomorrow and pulls a draw).

On another note, just watched Barca do Real Madrid in at te El Classico in the Bernabau. I think Barca will make any team look bad and we really must hold our heads up and get out of this gloom that appears to have pervaded Arsenalfansdom.

Having just watched Xavi dismantle real..it doesnt feel that bad.
Sajit
Aw, No! Now, I wish I had taken that bet on fat Sam getting a draw. Stuck a knife in his friend's back there, didn't he? What-a-friend, indeed. Lol!
Naijagunner
For once Fat Sam does us a favour. Happy to be proved wrong.

Nikolaijns-have you never seen the ying-yang symbol? Thought not...try googling past page one in future. Did you realise that your name in Cantonese, Mandarin and English is the same? Coincidentally it is Ying-yang: look it up, or up it, there's a clue. By the way, your mother must be so proud, obviously a classical education. Jaelle (Is that a popular name down Upper Street these days among the Vicki Pollard community or do A**E not have, like their players, any indigenous fans any more?) You labour under the illusion that European football began with the misnomer that is The Champions League. And Deltaforce (Deltafrickingforce- Jaysus I'm having the pish ripped out of me by a Gladiator wannabe) the only way I'd retreat to nurse my 'injured johnson' would be after the night I had with three Pedro Almodovar inspired Catalan laydees last Tuesday, who after a night on the swally, continued later in the same vein....geddit.

Yeah nice try divwad, to humour you I did fruitlessly google and all it offered is the helpful suggestion 'Did you mean Yin and Yang?' that and endless pages of the ying yang twins, Atlantas party crunk duo. Here's a link to lessen your arrogant cockery...http://www.iep.utm.edu/yinyang/#H1. Also noone gives a skinny ball balancing chicken what you got up to with three fat bullfighting biffas in the friend zone last week so do one you tedious verbose little tit.
nikolaijns
Hilarious! johnny boy really doesn't know it's "yin" and not "ying"! Absolutely hilarious, you're just showing up your own stupidity, little boy.
jaelle
My young lady cantonese assistant thinks that you are either lanbi or shabi. And while she is happy to do most things, she would find sitting on your faces most unacceptable.
lordjohnny
If she's happy to do most things, ask her to jab a sharpened pencil in the eye of the verbally diarroeha afflicted pretentious little troll that paid for her sex change.
