'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wenger Not Listening To Barca 'Noise'

Arsene Wenger remains uninterested in what he calls 'noise' that has consistently and relentlessly emanated out of Camp Nou over the last 12 months, preferring instead to concentrate on only things that he can influence.

Barcelona, it's staff and it's players have acted quite disgracefully in an attempt to drive a wedge between Arsenal and Cesc Fabregas and cheapen the deal somewhat, however the board have shown an impressive resolve in the interest of keeping the Spaniard, so much so that the 'noise' we're hearing now is Spanish sobs about how the big nasty men in London won't even talk to them.

Wenger however refuses to be worried, insisting the noise, is just that and he's more than happy with Cesc at Arsenal.

'It is only noise,' said Wenger 'In our job we have to deal with what we can master. What we cannot influence is not to worry about.

'We have learned about that and I believe that in a big club you have to live with those kind of noises without being disturbed.

"I am very happy with Cesc and we are all very happy at the Club with Cesc. He is a very important player for us, he is our captain and we have worked very hard [for him] to be the future of our team and that is why we are always adamant about [not] letting him go.'

Good stance indeed, "Let not a man guard his dignity, but let his dignity guard him" as they say.

Barcelona's desperation is so dire now that its making the entire club look cheap and small. Their best cloak and dagger effort has not been enough to get Fab on the cheap and it has Barca look like right t*ts in the media as well.

I hate Barca so much that I would even be rooting for Chelsea or Man Utd or even Spurs against them if they play in the CL. Okay maybe not Spurs but still.
Gooner_Vin
"It is only noise". Haha. Right in your face Barca. Love the way Arsenal and Arsene just take care of Barca and their shenanigans with one single statement.
Eboue=GOD
Noise pollution indeed! Well said boss!!

Interesting to see on twitter how Arsenal have generated a lot of respect among football journos throughout this entire saga (US and UK journos). Daniel Taylor from the Guardian just tweeted "Credit where due, Arsenal handled Fabregas affair with dignity/determination, refused to be bullied and look *for now* to have won" - yesterday Darren Lewis tweeted similar stuff about Arsenal. Grant Wahl, Henry Winter, Sean Ingle and others have all tweeted the same kind of praise for Arsenal.

Thats right, stand firm Arsene! La Liga just can't keep getting away with unsettling prem players like this!

I propose that Arsenal fans World wide post letters once a week for the next four weeks to UEFA & FIFA complaining about Barcelona FC's 'tapping up' of Cesc Fabregas. Also post a letter just once to Arsenal FC requesting that they formally complain to UEFA & FIFA. I have drawn up 3 template letters that I will email to willing participants. All you need to do is type in your own Name & Address before printing off & posting. Momentum will be boosted by you forwarding the email to every one of your Arsenal FC fan family & friends, encouraging them to participate. The aim of repetitive letters is to create an Admin headache for UEFA & FIFA with thousands of letters received from all over the world & display the strength of feeling from Arsenal FC fans. The purpose of the single letter to Arsenal FC is again to display the strength of feeling from us fans. My email address for this campaign from where I will email you the letter templates is …….. Well you've got him for one more season. How much do you reckon you will get for him next season?
TheFamousNo7
Thats a purely academic and hypothetical question TFNO7. Just because you sold your prize player (and have relinquished your league title) doesn't mean we will do the same!
Deltaforce
I like the picture in the caption. Just about says it all doesn't it?
Naijagunner
Yeah Naija! I was also thinking how useful this pic has been on VA! lol It's gone well with a lot of topics really.
GoonerLou
So now he didn't hear an incident?
CoxintheBox
No disrespect Deltaforce but unless you want to lose him on a free you best cash in next season. Question is, how much will you get? I'd also like to congratulate Wenger for standing strong however i do believe he should've complained about how Barca have gone about this, it is completely unacceptable and their obsession is sick and unhealthy.
