Gunners Sing Praises As Cesc Returns

After a summer of discontent and quite literally countless quotes and sound-bytes from Barca players, it appears the Arsenal PR machine is in full swing as Cesc returns to training to a chorus of praise and admiration from his team-mates.

Whilst the monotonous tones of Xavi, Puyol, Iniesta, and Messi were ringing in our ears, Arsenal and it's staff kept a dignified silence as we fought to keep our prized asset, and now as it seems that battle has been won our players have been out in force heaping praise on the Spanish midfielder letting him know just how much he is needed in North London.

The latest players letting Cesc know how much he is loved are Theo and The Verminator.

Thomas wasn't shy with the plaudits, "He is just a fantastic player and that is why he is important for us. He has played many great games and scored a lot of goals.'

"He`s really important and we hope he stays. He`s a leader of the team, he is the skipper and the boss gave him the armband because he is important."

"The way he plays, not just with his feet but also the work he puts in, is hard for anybody to match. He is a complete player."

Walcott too sang the praises of his captain, 'Cesc's a big player for Arsenal so I'm looking forward to playing with him next season,'

'He's one of those players who spots a ball no one else would. I've been texting him. I sent my congratulations for the World Cup and said what a great pass he made for the winner.

'After that he just needed a good mental break from it all. I'm looking forward to seeing him back. He's a fantastic player for us and our captain. After Spain's victory, it's a nice bonus to have a World Cup winner by your side.'

I'll feel much more content once I hear it from Cesc himself.
Trennon
I've just been having a gooesy at Arseblog and he's got it right when he says that the silence won't continue now he's back at training. It can't. Someone has to say something.
Rocky7
I don't think I'm gonna like what I eventually hear from Cesc, but it needs to be out in the open.
Cockney Rich
You may be right CR, but at least we can get on with crap then!
Rocky7
Enough of the Barca and the Spanish newspaper *****e. Cesc is back to where he belongs(at least for the short term)
Eboue=GOD
not been smart but if he wants to leave shouldnt he hand in transfer quest?

Free the Catalan 1 !

Unlock his cage - let him back to his native habitat - stop the cruelty.

Our thanks to the peanut gallery - the spuds and manc glory hunters.

It really makes me proud, we have the best, most dedicated trolls on any fan site.

It’s up to Arsenal whether Cesc goes and as the Catalans have not stumped up enough cash the transfer will not even be considered (that is if Arsenal are willing to sell at the right price in the first place). There is no reason for Cesc not to make a statement regarding his immediate future unless he knows something we don’t.
Sir Henry
Well, that is it then, done and dusted. He seemed quite happy to be back on the Skysports clip of the members day return to training. So, for me, he is STAYING. The trolls had better get used to that fact and sort out how they intend to deal with that, this season.
Naijagunner
Yep that's that then. Cesc is a Gooner, God's in heaven and it's beef casserole for tea. Everything is back to normal. Now I can look forward to the CL draw tomorrow, and see who is gonna dump Spuds out.
Cockney Rich
Hope to see Ramsey back soon. Hope he can take over Cesc's role when he is back.

Fancy keeping a player that wants out - let the boy go - show some compassion

Related to arseblogger's excellent post today (he's on fire, yesterday's entry was also superb), now that our captain is staying, his teammates are obligated to FIGHT FOR THE TEAM IN EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF EVERY SINGLE GAME. Some of our players are passengers who refuse to bust their ass for the team. Cesc is a player who stayed on the pitch with a fkg broken (or near-broken) leg, ffs! He deserves teammates around him who fight just as hard. If they don't, I don't blame him for leaving.
jaelle
Spot on Jaelle. To be honest, we could all see from Cesc's body language this season just gone that he was getting tired and frustrated at continually losing the big games. I vividly recall how downbeat he was during the Chelsea game. He's obviously a great player and he deserves a great team around him. That said, he should also realise what Arsenal FC has been for him. He'll go down in history as the player that made the pass that won the Spain their first ever World Cup, and he did that at 23 years old. Would he have had that opportunity to play for Spain if he'd stayed at Barca the past 7 years perhaps not playing as regularly as he's done at Arsenal? We'll never know but I think not.
Gooner_Vin
Adding to CR - "Cesc is a Gooner, God's in heaven and it's beef casserole for tea. spurs are still ***** and adebarndoor *****s Man City ... Everything is back to normal."
Sajit
its funny all ye lot think he is staying cause he actually wants to stay, if he wanted to stay why did it take so long, its casue they could not agree a fee otherwise he would be gone, an suggest playing with broken leg was stupid as he was out for a for few weeks an it cost ye the league as ye has the easiest run in, starting with an easy 3 points at the lane,
123spurs
123, so "we did not agree a fee" and he is staying. I thought that mutual agreement is the way transfers are done, aside from the fact that at least, two parties have to be willing to sell/buy. What exactly is your point??
Naijagunner
i never said a fee was agreed, its probaly the main reason why the deal didnt go though, of course ye didnt want to sell, but if barce offered more then they were quoted, ye may have accepted, at least another year when the rumours start again ;)
123spurs
....Whatever gives you pleasure, 123. What is important is we refused to negotiate and CESC IS STAYING!!! We all agree he will leave us some day, but it will be on terms agreeable to all.
Naijagunner
for those of you who live in USA or UK, does anyone know if aresnal TVonline, has every arsenal game live or replay? or do they only have highlights? please help i am trying to buy one.
