I'm hoping that Cescs rather ' downbeat ' expression and half-hearted applause is nothing more than the feeling of reality, now that he's back to the ' day job '.
Cockney Rich
I see the exact same thing happening next season and Cesc staying. Wenger never once looked unsettled by the whole thing. You heard it here first, Cesc will be a Gooner for the 2011/12 season.
gronedrone
gronedrone - Cesc AND Wenger to leave at the end of the season. You heard it here first !
Cockney Rich
I'm sure that's one of the end times signs.

I was at the members day eysterday and I have to say the desire to over analyse Cesc's facial expressions etc is a bit painful. The guy turned up and did some running, that was about it. Nothing Freudian that needs to be deconstructed to the hilt.

In the meantime, enjoy this http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_6296953,00.html

Tim, I am not trying to " over analyse " anything. After a painful few weeks regarding Cesc and his future, I just expected a little bit more, that's all. Fernando Torres found the time on his return to Liverpool and give a heart warming interview. If my wife had been telling me that she ' loved ' someone else and hadn't spoken to me for weeks, I think I would be entitled to sit down and say to her " Tell me what's going on ".
Cockney Rich
I jizzed when I saw that article, got it bookmarked for when Spurs will be dumped out in a few weeks time.
gronedrone
LD - I was just about to copy and paste that articule here but you got here first. Seems like Defoe is just like the Spuds fans - deluded and obsessed with Arsenal. What a knob.
Gooner_Vin
I wouldn't read to much into Cesc's demeanour, he is training after all, i wouldn't be smiling! If you look at van Persie, he's got the same expression on his face and he's definately not leaving! It would, however, be great if Cesc came out and tell us exactly what he's feeling.
GunDaz
GunDaz - I guess that that was what I was driving at, Cesc's continued silence. He had a perfect chance to address the fans yesterday, or even do a 10 minute piece with Arsenal TV. I just want the captain of my beloved Club to come out and give us a statement telling us where he stands on the whole Barca thing. I don't think that it's too much to ask and it's a million miles away from LD's load of old ********* " Freudian " comment.
Cockney Rich
I agree. All we seem to be getting on the Arsenal website at the moment though is comments from TV5. Maybe Cesc is, as he should be, embarassed about the whole thing, though that is no excuse not to come out and put the fans minds to rest, one way or the other.
GunDaz
Cesc is well aware of the bridges he might be burning so hes keeping quiet for as long as possible. He WILL go to the Catalans but everything has to be right before he does including a sizeable transfer fee and a contract due for renegotiation. I only hope that Wenger grooms a replacement for Fabregas in time for the big move. Due to his contract, I can see Cesc with us for next season as well (disgruntled or not) and anyway, Im sure that he can see too much bench time at the Camp Nou with Iniesta and Xavi currently in the way. The noise from Barcelona will continue until he moves so wed better get used to it.
Sir Henry
Cesc, all you have to do is sit in a studio for Arsenal TV and give a 10 minute interview stating the following : 1. Thank all the fans who came to the open training day and giving you such a warm welcome back. 2. Thank the Arsenal fans for the support and good wishes you received during the World Cup. 3. Discuss the amazing feeling winning the WC and say how sorry you feel for RVP being on the losing side. State how proud you felt that 2 Arsenal players were taking part in the biggest spectacle in world football. 4. Clear up the facts that Barca did make 2 offers for you, but that Arsenal turned down both offers. Discuss that you did have a conversation with AW telling him that you would like to join Barca. 5. Tell us that at the moment the transfer isn't possible for a number of reasons. 6. Say to us that you are very proud to be an Arsenal player and their captain. You feel that we can win something this year, and that you and the boys will be fighting all the way to win the PL, CL and FA Cup. 7. Welcome the new boys to the club and state what great signings they are. Tell us that you can't wait to lead us out at Anfield next week and you predict us to win. 8. Thank us once again for our continued support. Is it really that difficult ????
Cockney Rich
****** THINK HE MIGHT HAVE HEARD ME ! Well, almost. *******
Cockney Rich
You should pitch for a role as his PR manager, CR. Lol. I rather take the position things couldn't be that straight forward since it is a fact he intended to leave for Barca. Over the next few weeks, he should settle down to meeting you all the way.
