Samir Nasri has become the first person in human history to ever say thank you to the despicable thug that is Joey Barton.
Speaking at the France training as they prepare to take on Norway tomorrow, our somewhat petulant midfielder had this to say:
'During one of my first matches in England, we played Newcastle and Barton tried to intimidate me. It definitely made me a better player.' admitted Nasri to France Football.
'The Premier League demands a lot of effort because there is so much intensity. Since that day, I have improved a lot. Thank you Mr Barton!'
Nasri has been in fine form this preseason, which is no surprise since rumors have it that he started his own personal training camp before the World Cup even got under way. With Cesc, van Persie, Denilson, Song, and Diaby not ready for this weekend`s league opener at Anfield, Nasri immediately becomes a senior member of the squad. We will need him at his sharpest to get a positive result.
For now I leave you with a short clip of Nasri-Joey Barton dispute in question.
