'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Nasri Applauds Joey Barton

Samir Nasri has become the first person in human history to ever say thank you to the despicable thug that is Joey Barton.

Speaking at the France training as they prepare to take on Norway tomorrow, our somewhat petulant midfielder had this to say:

'During one of my first matches in England, we played Newcastle and Barton tried to intimidate me. It definitely made me a better player.' admitted Nasri to France Football.

'The Premier League demands a lot of effort because there is so much intensity. Since that day, I have improved a lot. Thank you Mr Barton!'Nasri has been in fine form this preseason, which is no surprise since rumors have it that he started his own personal training camp before the World Cup even got under way. With Cesc, van Persie, Denilson, Song, and Diaby not ready for this weekend`s league opener at Anfield, Nasri immediately becomes a senior member of the squad. We will need him at his sharpest to get a positive result.

For now I leave you with a short clip of Nasri-Joey Barton dispute in question.

Looing forward to Samir having a great season. Being a ' senior ' player now alot more responsibilty will sit on his shoulders, but he is well able to cope. The little fella can be our match winner and his trickery and intelligence can turn games for us. Good luck Samir and COME ON YOU GUNNERS !!!!!!!!!!

The first and the last to thank him!

Haha nice one Samir! That's an admirable attitude - cos you wouldn't expect Ramsey to thank Shawcross for making him tougher would you? (And no, let's not dwell on that. I didn't mean to digress or invite the trolls to comment on the tragic incident or the other ones for that matter.) I'm confident that Nasri is all fired up for this season because he's keen to prove that (a) Domenech was wrong to leave him out of the France squad and (b) he can replace Cesc even if it's a big pair of shoes to fill.

Lou, Nasri also said in that same interview that "I'm not fighting Cesc for one position." And that "We'll prove Evra wrong, no men versus boys this season."

Hopefully Nasri will make Barton look like a fool on both occassions this season when we come up against Newcastle. He is a nasty piece of work that Barton.

It looks like Cesc won't start against Liverpool, so it'll be interesting to see if Nasri can do the job in his place. OT: This photo montage was very good, showing the progress of Wilshere by the BBC. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8900284.stm

I read the title as "nazi applauds joey barton". It didn't spark much interest in me, but after rereading the title I now realize this is more of a "man bites dog" story.

I remember that game and that lovely kick from Nasri that sent Barton tumbling. It was a thing of beauty!

Yeah....that's a great clip. The last time I saw a crowd like that it was throwing stones at a black maria entering court. Football.......such a middle class sport these days.

thanks for the clip brice. love it :) barton is a criminal and shouldnt be on a football pitch except maybe to cut the grass or paint the lines. bloody waste of space. as for samir... hope he has a huge season which im a sure he is capable of having.
