Sticky Rosicky

Sticky Rosicky

Tomas has had his haircut. Cesc said he should change from his dated centre parting bob style and he seems to have opted for a fetching bouffant affair. Changing hair styles doesn`t really affect performances but it`s surprising how often they seem to coincide. Sagna seemed to suffer a bit of a dip in form when he temporarily abandoned his braided style. Maybe it`s the whole thing about things just not looking quite the same.

I wonder if things will now look a little different for Rosicky. Heaven knows he`s a talented enough player to hope that it might. His performance in the first half of the Emirates cup game against Milan, for me at least, showed a quality player capable of constantly probing and moving trying to find the key pass to open teams up. He has been with us for so long and featured so little that I can`t help but feel his opportunity has passed him by but at 29 maybe he still has a chance to shine long enough to feel that we have got something worthwhile out of him.

He`d extended his contract last season which isn`t always a sign that a player is staying. Eduardo extended his contract at a similar point. As often as not contract extensions are in place to hold some contract value in the event of a transfer and there were rumours that Rosicky might also be on his way a week or so back. Such speculation is normal Tomas assured the Czech press but he intends to stay around for as long as he can.

'I must thank everyone for showing interest because it flatters me, but I must repeat myself - I am satisfied to be with Arsenal and as long as the club want me to stay, I am not interested in moving elsewhere.'

Our midfield relies heavily on Cesc for creativity. Nasri has great individual qualities and has shown the ability to pick out a telling pass but not yet at a rate that marks him out as a playmaker but other than those two there isn`t really anyone else that can make others play. Talented an individual though he is Arshavin doesn`t really plug that gap. There is a role for Little Mozart if his fitness allows him to fulfil it.

It seems Tomas himself is not too sure just where he might play. "I don't know, we will see. In pre-season the coach used me on the right, in the centre but also on the left,' he said.

'I simply played everywhere and am curious myself to see where I will be playing.'

If he can be the player he should have been for us then anywhere in midfield will do for me.

Seems like I say this every season but if we can get a full year out of him he'll be a very important player. He's a very classy player with good vision, touch and can properly tw*t a ball. He's also one of the better tacklers amongst the creatively gifted players you'll find.

He's much more effective in a central role. But players like Nasri,Fabregas have curbed his opportunities in that position. I personally feel he is going to have a really good season and we are going to see the real Tomas Rosicky this season.

This is gonna be a big season for all of our players. They can't hide behind excuses anymore. For me it's make or break for Diaby in particular.

We need some more goals from him like his ones against Hamburg and Liverpool. That was Rosicky at his absolute best. I agree if he can get back to his best, we will have one hell of a player on our hands and will add some more potency to our already superb attack. Just hope he has fully recovered from the injury problems that have dogged his career at Arsenal and gives us his absolute best this season.

Now he’s achieved some distance from THAT injury, 2010/11 could be his big Arsenal year. If he struggles then I think Wenger will look to get rid him, possibly January but probably next summer. Personally I think he’s going to have a storming season along with Samir after a frustrating time watching the WC from a distance this summer.

Rosicky had a habit of over elaborating last season. He often held onto the ball too long and ran down ' blind alleys '. However, on his day he can unlock defences for us as he is first to see the ' in ' ball. Tomas, just stay fit mate and you will be a major asset to us this season. Good luck.

I remember before Arshavin arrived, it was Rosicky who used to traumatise the Scousers. Hopefully we will see more of that play this season were he tears apart opposition defences for fun.

Diaby also have similar habit ..but yea.. he got more slack that Tom ever had.
