Arsene-al Until 2014

On the eve of the new season for Arsenal, manager Arsene Wenger has ended speculation that this might be his last.

Announced this morning on the club website, Arsene had this to say on his new deal: "My heart belongs to Arsenal and my desire is to see this team win silverware.'

"My commitment and drive are as strong and fresh as ever. Signing a new deal means that I can see this talented group of players reach their potential. Trust me, they are ready to deliver.'

"With my staff and players we are in front of an exciting challenge and we are looking forward to achieving much success."

Arsene signs on ahead of trip to Liverpool? Great news, let's hope Arsene's squiggly signatory is followed up by that of a good centre half and a great keeper.

Le Boss really is the master of deflecting unwanted attention and negativity, and putting the focus on himself. What a massive lift for everyone just ahead of the season opener. I bet Cesc knew that this was going to happen last week !

Great news, still the most important person at the club by a long stretch. I'm still confident we'll have another couple of additions to the squad by the end of the month.

Any players thinking of joining the club will know the manager who signs them will be around for a few more years. This should make it easier for us to recruit new players.

Another four years without a trophy for the Gooners - great news for the rest of the league - Wenger must be the most overarted manager there is - he can't attract or keep big name players.

Another willy waving post from the gobby manc who only found his tongue when a load of Arab cash was shoved up his arse. Money talks but wealth whispers.
