With the transfer deadline (mercifully) passed, yesterday clubs had to admit their 25 man playing squads for league games in 2010-11. Squads of 25 must contain at least 8 "home grown" players. Arsenal submitted a 20 man squad with 7 home grown players as follows [(h) denotes home grown]:

21. Lukasz FABIANSKI
22. Gael CLICHY (h)
23. Andrey ARSHAVIN

29. Marouane CHAMAKH
52. Nicklas BENDTNER (h)

In addition to this, clubs are allowed to name an unlimited number of players who were 21 or under as of 1st January, 2010. Arsenal registered 56 such players in addition to the 20 man squad

Yes - that would be the one rejected by Real and cleared out in the summer sales after 'arry was conned into thinking someone else had offered £18m for him.

It's exactly the same Arsenal squad we would have put forward even if the new rules hadn't been put in place. Most PL teams in the recent past will only use something like 26-28 players over a normal season and there'll always have been a handful of youngsters amongst those.

I think Arsene has just made a mockery of the new squad rule.None of the 20 selected are English. And the thinks the new squad rule is gonna help English football??....hahaha....absolute mockery of the new rule by Arsene

'Cesc Fabregas, Johan Djourou, Niklas Bendtner, Alexandre Song, Vito Mannone, and Perka Denilson - Do these names sound home grown to you?' was a post a Spurs supporting friend of mine put up on facebook/ twitter today. All i seem to be doing is arguing with people about Arsenal at the moment! lol!
