Disappointed no start for JET, but that's a very strong lineup and will destroy the tiny tots. It's seems the tables have turned on the youth philosophy for this one.
insider says
Spurs have not put out as stronger team as I expected. Feeling even more confident now that we can get the win here.
True-Gooner-Blood
Had Vermaelen not missed the Sunderland game I'm sure Squi would have played this one. Almunia on the bench because the manager didn't want to rank Mannone higher than Wojciech or vice versa in my opinion. Lansbury and Jet are the only players who haven't been in and around the first team. I suspect Kos Djorou Gibbs Eboue in defense. Vela to lead the line. Denilson playing the Song role. I haven't a clue about the rest. Who will play the Cesc role? Wilshere, Rosicky, or Nasri?. Will Eboue play in attack or midfield?
gronedrone
Sorry, Eboue is the right-back of course. ^[CORRECTION]^
gronedrone
lol..we have basically put out our 3rd choice 11 and you guys are playing a strong team, no excuses if you fail to beat us
Yid_from_India
yid from india, the team above is very much our second string not our first. Otherwise a lot of our bench would start the game not to mention the key matchwinners that are Fab and RvP. That said, no excuses if we dont win despite your home advantage.
Deltaforce
IRONY^^^^^
gronedrone
We're not the ones talking about how its only our third team before the match has started. We only have 2 first teamers, you guys have 1.
gronedrone
The side we have put out is a good one. Only concerned about the lack of physical or aerial presence up front with Vela having to go it alone up front supported by Nasri and occasionaly Rosicky. Would have thought JET would make it ahead of Lansbury because of his versatility up front.
Deltaforce
Should be a good game anyway.Vela has looked sharp and should be looking to score tonight
ajwb
I think Chamakh will feature at some stage too.
True-Gooner-Blood
Looking forward to seeing most how Gibbs and Lansbury do. I hope JET gets a good 30 mins or more.
insider says
Really hope Fabianski keeps his cool. He will be targetted on set pieces for sure. Its make or break for the young Pole.
Deltaforce
lets hope its a cracker
jljyid
Was a penalty clearly.
True-Gooner-Blood
Landsbury!!!! 1-0!
True-Gooner-Blood
I can see now why Lansbury was played!! Well done young lad.
Deltaforce
Good Boy Lansbury.... real passion!
insider says
':D'
ajwb
Yayyyy!
GoonerLou
Bring the ***** on
Sajit
We are playing well but are overcommitting a bit much in attack, hope our defenders especially Djourou keep their line.
Deltaforce
Credit to young Jack for such a great pass.
True-Gooner-Blood
Indeed TGB, great ball in from Jack. Credit to Henri for that good run too.
GoonerLou
Gibbs was onside!! Damn...that possibly would have been game, set and match..
Deltaforce
Should be 2-0. Gibbs was clearly onside.
gunnerkid107
Rebel Wenger!
ajwb
That's a shame. Our first half performance deserves at least a two goal lead.
gunnerkid107
Excellent half, superb movement, but need more strength and a target man up top. Should put JET on and move vela out wide left. Take Rosicky off if he's carrying a knock.
insider says
Good performance from our boys, should be 2-0 and have a penalty, but such is football. It's fair to say we have a really strong squad, considering we made 9 changes from the weekend and we had van Persie, Bendtner, Walcott and Vermaelen out for that game also. This should firmly put to bed the myth suffered by some Spurs fans that they have a better squad than ours.
Rocky7
any live streams?
Armory
Vela's movement has been excellent even if he doesn't expect to get the ball, he makes room for the players around by dragging defenders away with him. That kinda effort is very nice to see from Carlos.
gronedrone
They will be fired up for the second half - they will come running at us and may try some long balls as well. Glad Kos is playing today. Our intensity needs to be kept up. Another replica of the first half performance will be so welcome.
Deltaforce
Say what you want about Ian Wright and his opinions, but the man is an out and out Gooner.
Rocky7
Lansbury and Gibbs look really impressive. And Jacky,Tommy and Sam linking up well in midfield. Good goal. Should seal the victory in the second half if we continue in the same vein
Eboue=GOD
are we allowed to post streams here?
insider says
Nope.
Rocky7
We need some to volunteer for suicide watch over at Vital Spurs, they're ready for offing themselves. Doesn't matter that they're playing a load of 12 year olds in a cup that doesn't much matter, they're still gunna boo god damn it! lol
Rocky7
Lennon and Keane are immediately going to come on in the second half. This half will be tougher. Cmon!
Deltaforce
LOL,.. no way not me! not going near that ***** hole
insider says
Ah ******** Hell!!! Fabianski *****s it up again!!
True-Gooner-Blood
Definitely offside, Fabianski should have saved it anyway, no surprise he didn't tho
bowiecokemirror
Damn it. How was that not offside? And Fab should have saved that.
Deltaforce
Isn't it the same linesman who flagged against Gibbs when he was clearly on?
gronedrone
Lol unlucky then guys, still not out the game!
Blitz
I'm sorry, I want to support the guy, but Fabianski needs to do MUCH better than that.
Gooner_Vin
The ref and linesman are doing their best to hand it to the spuds. We would have been 3-0 up in the first half if it wasn't for them. As for Fabianski, theres not really much more you can say about the guy. He makes a serious mistake every time he plays.
bowiecokemirror
The pressure is too much for Fabianski. Though it will shatter his confidence, wish he is substituted for Almunia now.
Deltaforce
Starting to find our feet again. Hopefully will get a 2nd. Get Chamakh and perhaps Arsh on.
True-Gooner-Blood
Chamakh will have an impact if he is given atleast 20 mins. Our forward line needs more bite.
Deltaforce
If the pressure is too much for Fabianski in the 3rd round of the carling cup, there's clearly no hope for him.
bowiecokemirror
Koscielny is pure class. What a purchase.
Deltaforce
I think for the sake of Fabianski's whole career, not just at Arsenal, that Wenger needs to let him go, at least on loan.
Gooner_Vin
Double change. Looks like AW read my mind lol. Chamakh and Arsh
True-Gooner-Blood
Arshers and Chamakh will do nicely
ajwb
I do worry though that Wenger is risking too many first team players in this game.
gronedrone
End of argument - - 2122: GOALFLASH Stoke 2-0 Fulham (Jones) - - Stoke goal: Are the Potters heading for the last 16 of the Carling Cup? It looks like it. Mark Schwarzer flaps at one of those Rory Delap long throw-ins and Kenwyne Jones heads home.
bootoo
that young lad who scored for you looks excellent no jelousy honest.
jljyid
Fabianski might not look that bad then, bootoo!
ajwb
Yeah Lansbury has been immense tonight.
True-Gooner-Blood
Yeah, Lansbury looks like he might actually break into the first team some day. Couldn't say the same about, Randall and the likes.
gronedrone
Were so so close to winning it at the end of normal time..lady luck where art thou..
Deltaforce
Lansbury has played with great fire and passion. He is on a yellow though and needs to keep it tidy.
Deltaforce
Penalty!!
Eboue=GOD
In you get!!
Eboue=GOD
Nasri......Cool as you like!!!
True-Gooner-Blood
Pretty good spot by the ref, initially I thought there was no contact. Sometimes ref's see that and choose to ignore it, well done ref.
gronedrone
Ohlala
ajwb
Hhahahahha Another Peno!!
True-Gooner-Blood
Game set and match
Eboue=GOD
Nasri.......Coolhand Luke!!!
True-Gooner-Blood
why did Nasri not take the penalty on Saturday? (",)
bowiecokemirror
AHHAHAHAH
ajwb
LMAO
ajwb
Just keeping taking the pens from now on Sammy, I dont give a ***** about the "ive just been fouled so i cant take it" BS. Henry used to do that and it annoyed me.
gronedrone
Nasri didn't take it because he was the one fouled, its stupid I know.
gronedrone
Haha indeed guys. Samir shouldn't have been so modest against Sunderland. All for having him take the pens!
GoonerLou
Spurs look *****ed... I can see us getting a few more.
True-Gooner-Blood
Great singing from the travelling Gooners there! :)
GoonerLou
Aye Lou. His precision on both penos was second to none.
True-Gooner-Blood
Yeah I know that's the reason that was given gronedrone, but as you say it doesn't make much sense. Anyway he was fouled for the first penalty today and he took that.
bowiecokemirror
Come on lads, get two more!! I want us to avenge that 5-1...
True-Gooner-Blood
Gibbs played so well today.
Deltaforce
Arsh!!!! 4-1. One more lads, one more!!
True-Gooner-Blood
Whats this about a DVD? LOLOLOL
ajwb
Beautiful strike from Andreyyyyy!!! :D
GoonerLou
Give credit to Arshavin, his finishing has been clinical latley, even if the rest of his game hasn't always been up to scratch.
bowiecokemirror
Kinda feel sad for the boy who was crying, but at least he is a true supporter unlike those****s who left with a whole half left to play.
gronedrone
Nasri is BEAST
ajwb
Hahahhaah the Spuddies are running to the exit, Gooners jumping up and down, Mr Twitcherson twitching. :D
GoonerLou
Koscielny has be outstanding once again.
gronedrone
I want more
Sajit
The Spurs have been humbled tonight. Plain and Simple. And TBH it has been a long time coming. A major reality check.
True-Gooner-Blood
We want more!!!!!!!!!!!
Sajit
Does anyone (Amos?) know how many times Kos has made clearances with his head? I lost count a long time ago.
GoonerLou
Yes.Sit back down you spuds
ajwb
was that really their first corner of the game?
gronedrone
Listen to those Gooners at 3 Point Lane!!! I'm so jealous!
TPowell
They got their first corner in the second half of added time lol..
GoonerLou
Cant wait for the DVD!
bootoo
Koscielny, Gibbs, Wilshere and Nasri have been outstanding. Denilson also had a very good game. :-))))
Gooner_Vin
I liked how Andrey stared at Naughton stretching his leg as if he's asking 'you need help with that mate?'
GoonerLou
The Gooners at WHL have been brilliant tonight. Have made themselves heard throughout the night even when the scum got that soft goal and refused to be silenced. My hats off to them and to those who say that Gooners have no passion, ***** off...
True-Gooner-Blood
lucky win against our reserves...COYS
yidpondan
More like FOYS....as in ***** off you Spurs.
True-Gooner-Blood
I'm working on the DVD guys.
gronedrone
Outclassed is more like it pondan.
Deltaforce
Sounds like a really good night out for the guys and gals.
gronedrone
Well played the gooners! I'm a Spurs fan and we've been shamed tonight, not even good enough to give you a game, congrats!
The Horses Mouth
Aren't you going to congratulate us yidpondan? Just like we did with your world famous, DVD blockbuster 5-1 win. Take it on the chin mate.
Professor Calculus
The best team on the night won. Anybody who thinks that was an even match after 90 minutes needs their head examined.
gunnerkid107
That guy pondan isn't a real yid at all, he's just a d!ck, we're all trying to get him banned from our site,,, maybe if you guys complain to, he'll be gone!
The Horses Mouth
Great result boys. yes TGB...FOYS!!! Wilshere was outstanding once again..played all 7 games now and never look tired. Here's for Wilshere's long healthy streak!! And lastly..Thank You Samir Nasri!!! :D
Malaysian_GunnerZ
It's past 5am and I can't sleep! :D
GoonerLou
Why was JET not introduced?? I really wanted to see him,if not in the starting lineup then at least as a substitute
Eboue=GOD
Worst playerr by far- Caulker. Is he really an electrician who won a 'play with your favourite club' contest?
elbondo
I've never been as angry winning a game 4-1 as I was when Arshavin hit that volley at the end, he had tons of space .... I really wanted 5. lol
Rocky7
David Bentley has just given the worst display I've ever seen from a pro footballer! So glad our youngsters got to see it up close, a nice lesson for them. Spurs are just embarrasing the team they put out cost 65m the team we put out cost 35m, outclassed.
iceman10
you know in Malay language pondan = man that behave like woman. not always gay though..don't know if yidpondan is in fact a Malaysian like me
Malaysian_GunnerZ
You deserved to win, fair and square. No excuses, we were poor. Enjoy your night, guys. If you need me, I'll be on VS ripping into our players.
DubaiSpur
Agreed Elbondo. Caulker was abysmal.
True-Gooner-Blood
To Dare is to Do=To Poop is to *****
Eboue=GOD
The Horses Mouth..cant u accept a bit sarcasm?..they used the same excuse when we thrashed them 5-1...COYS
yidpondan
hahaha I'll be with you Dubai, well done the Gooners, see you in the prem (maybe we'll actually give you a game,,)
The Horses Mouth
Everybody played well. Koscienly, Gibbs, and Wilshere were on another planet.
gunnerkid107
Cheers DS - Nice to see some honourable Spuds!
Rocky7
lol Would explain alot Malaysian
The Horses Mouth
@Lou - there's a video on kos' performance against sunderland on you tube. What a tackle he made in the box today tho. Wow!
insider says
Cheers and credit to you guys Horses Mouth and DubaiSpur.
Deltaforce
Koscienly appears to be a carbon copy find as Vermaelen was last season. He is the aerial beast we've been searching for for years.
Rocky7
Also - how *****in hard is Jack Wilshere? The kid gets kicked all over the park every week and he never ever complains, other than to say "come on ref" .... the kid is freakishly strong for such a skinny lad.
Rocky7
Well and truly outclassed, out-thought and out-Gunned!
Naijagunner
Wilshere played like a champion as did Kos, Nasri, Gibbs and Lansbury. Eboue made countless interceptions and nicked the spurs players when they had possession. Djourou was solid, happy for him. I'll wait till he meets Drogba but Koscielny has to be among the three best centre halfs in the league. He is technically perfect.
Deltaforce
Still could he live with the likes of Drogba,Rooney etc. Remains to be seen
Eboue=GOD
good game really enjoyed it except extra time, our goal was offside, 1st peno was very soft, bentley was pants, most of us were prayin it wasnt 5
123spurs
Very well done to the boys!! We could've won by a bigger margin but I'm also happy with the defensive performance. Kos impressed again. Everyone's serious about tracking back despite being in a more comfortable position. The boys have been showing more maturity. :)
GoonerLou
MotM was Wilshere - ran the whole game and stood up to everything. Kos also flawless, but excellent all round performance from everyone. Lansbury - Well done, a true gooner for the cause!!
insider says
enough about jack ( motm), what you think of sandro ;)
123spurs
Really solid performance from Gibbsy. Looks really good and hope AW sees him as a real competitor now for that LB spot along with Clichy
Eboue=GOD
I think Kos is turning out to be a gem of a buy, "light weight" that he is. Has perfect timing, almost psychic in the interceptions he makes; and in the air, a monster, for such a wiry man.
Naijagunner
shud have been five really, Gibbs was clean through!!
luckys_10
I had a dreary day. I go to bed a happy man! Twitchy can shut his face for a bit now.
Naijagunner
congrats chaps well done wilshire is awesome.
jljyid
Bentley left us when? 6 years ago? He was a better then than he is now.
Amos.
Not at all Yidpondan, I don't think any Arsenal fan excused the 5-1 defeat, even I didn't like Arsenal that night. Anyway back to tonight, it suddenly feels like we've got lots of first team players? Rosicky is back, three new signings, Wilshere, Gibbs stepping up to the first team, plus we have Theo, RVP, Cesc and Verminator injured. At times last season Pat Rice and Wenger were considering lacing up, so this is a welcome change.
Professor Calculus
only bad thing about Koscielny's performances is that he'll be called away to the Arsenal killers known as international football. He's better than both Gallas and Abidal at this point, that's just a fact.
TPowell
From the official Arsenal Dot Com: "Shall we make a DVD?’ sang the away fans – a reference to Tottenham’s habit of releasing collector’s editions of wins (or even draws) against their local rivals." haha
gunnerkid107
123, Sandro (who I was very interested in seeing in this game) played like how I expected. He's a major pain-in-the-ass in midfield, creates nothing, is ruthless and dirty and rotten to the core and knows how to disrupt opponents using every sly trick he can. It's why his former club Internacional love him, and why Mano (the national team manager) chose him. I think he'll adapt well to England but he'll get you lots of bookings.
jaelle
Well played, Harry was really asking for that. I can't believe how little respect he showed. I must say that was a tad embarrassing at least you gooners aren't the type to rub our noses in it......could be a long day tomorrow ;)
Phartman87
123 I think Sandro looks like greg fockers love child. Wilshere quite frankly murdered him.
iceman10
Denilson showed how overlooked he is by the brazilian national squad tonight. His passing and defensive work was near perfect.
gronedrone
Biggest away win in a NLD since 1978 (we beat them 5-0 at WHL back then).
Amos.
As for Bentley....cant understand why he couldnt force Pirez or Ljungberg out, could only be because he was english and wenger hates the brits...im sure thats it....
bootoo
Bentley is awesome, surely only Adebayor can beat him to World Player Of The Year. This particular award is merited on ego.
Professor Calculus
"Has the fire alarm gone off?" - sang the away support. lol
insider says
lol bootoo
jljyid
My 3 year old watch his first NLD with me tonight. He sat there saying "Awwwww Arsenal" every time a shot went wide or one of our players was tripped. "Come on Arsenal, go the right way" every time the ball was at our end. Unfortunately he couldn't stay up for the whole games because, well, he's three. We'll watch the highlights together in the morning though :)
Rocky7
TP makes a good point, sooner or later the French are going to call him up which is really annoying. He's been our most consistent player since the international break.
gronedrone
gronedrone, has Kos decided between Poland and France, though?
cestlavie
That is hilarious bootoo!
Deltaforce
wow rocky thats awesome, would have been extra special watching it with him. turning your little boy into a gooner, not many things could be more amazing than that..
luckys_10
Good thing is Lucky, I'm not doing any such thing. He's free to do what he wants, I don't do anything to encourage him to like the Arsenal, he just does. He sings "Robin van Persie" and "Super, Super Nick ......" (He wanted Nicklas Bendtner to win the World Cup) .... only trouble is he still thinks Adebayor plays for Arsenal and sings for him too. lol
Rocky7
If he had to choose between Poland or France I'm pretty sure he'd choose France despite their current situation.
gronedrone
You never know... Chamakh chose Morocco over France :D
cestlavie
Rocky my son is 3 as well and whenever he sees someone in an arsenal shirt with a 4 on his back he says "its fabregas"
61 NEVER AGAIN
It's great isn't it. I love watching him get more and more enthusiastic about football. He likes to play too. I'm not going to push him into anything, but he looks like he's got a great right foot. Maybe he can get a game in the Carling Cup next season.
Rocky7
we have basically put out our 3rd choice 11 and you guys are playing a strong team, no excuses if you fail to beat us Yid_from_India - Well it's a good job we bitch slapped your mob then lol
LondonGooner
spuds are owt ha ha
