What a sad display from us so far.
What? Why? What's going on? Chelski have dropped 3 points! We need a win here!
Tired legs I guess. No urgency at all. Dammit
If we don't get 3 points today after the early result, I am gonna do my nut!!!!!
Just got home. What did I miss? Oh not much I guess.
Good job Al..
All!!!! awesome
I was just saying 'poor Almunia!' when he conceded that pen after making a couple of good saves in this game. Not a great strike but he saved it well.
Did that git give away a pen?
I hope Arsene has the hairdryer ready. If we don't take advantage of Chelski's loss, it'll be a disgrace. We should be thumping WBA...
We need to take Eboue off and get Rosicky on
0-0 going in at HT at HOME against West Brom??? Not good enough, not NEARLY good enough.
An indicator of how crap we have been is that Wenger has been fuming at touchline from the half hour mark. Not good.
We've not got many options on the bench with all our injuries...just Wilshere, Rosicky and Vela
Get Wilshere, Rosicky and Vela on!
I dont see anyone who can come from the bench and make a difference , expect maybe Wilshere.. But its expecting too much from the lad. How we are missing the pace of Theo and the directness of Cesc.
Vela cannot do anything in these kind of situations.Id loved to have any of the following options on the bench, Theo - Aaron or Cesc. or even Nicklas.
Rosicky has been pretty impressive so far this season, I'd like to see him come on. Wilshere must be a tired after playing so many games recently. Only Nasri has looked like producing anything in the first half.
another lazy arshavin pass gifts them possession
shocking defending from Sagna
There goes the .... :(
defence is cba
What happened?
Diaby and Eboue have been useless, thankg do they're finally off...
Am I reading this scoreline right?
Good substitutions!
you can try rubbing your eyes as hard as you like dont work...Ive tried.
If the results stay like this come full time....Citeh will think Christmas has come early!
I think Sagna was rubbing his eyes when Thomas ran past him
Useless goats. Just when I thought it could get no worse after Sunderland. Title lost AGAIN. Fecking embarrassing result this :(((((((
Absolutely the last time I gloat over another result before our lot have played. Typical!
Suddenly Chelsea's weekend doesn't look that bad. Though according to SireTraggart, this fixture would've been "Easy"..
Wow.. 0-3 at home to WBA.. Nice.
Ouch! There's the third.
Nasri is playing on his own
We still need a miracle to get anything from this game
I swear I felt like someone just hammered my chest when the third one went in.
Nasri! Cmon guys, give us a great final few minutes!
Ermm is this a good time to comment? LOL...I thought 6-0 against newcastle was bad, But your 'Arsenal getting destroyed to west brom, that must hurt.
Shut up!!!!!
You sound like a Spud.
Blackpool have equalised!
I'm off. Weekend ruined and result against spuds just *****ed away. Thank you very much indeed....:(((((((((
GoonerLou spud as in potatoe? Or spud asin a tottenham fan? I dont no what goes around in cockneys heads ;) Ouch about the result again.
And they restore some pride :P
Only a Spurs fan because only they would compare 1-3 to 0-6. So you sound exactly like them.
Thank god for Nasri still too late i think
'Ouch'? A 'result' is only a 'result' at full time baby.
There's still a tiny bit of time yet. Keep the faith.
Wow, now there's a game. Wish this goal would've come 5 minutes back, though..
Is that the full time whistle i heard? LOL and gooner lou i compared 3-0 to 6-0 just due to the fact you are arsenal and we are villa big difference. shame about the loss.
Was that aimed at me, GoonerLou? I meant no malice in my posts.
Goodbye Vital Arsenal, hello Vital Spurs.
Arent Villa CL contenders anymore P?
Shocking result, it could have been so different with Wishere and Rosicky on from the beginning. Eboue and Diably were hopeless. Only Nasri comes out of the game with any credit among our players
Spuddies lost as well, might stop them coming over and gloating. Then again I'm probably underestimating their stupidity..
Poor performance. Poor first half. But credit to the boys for pulling themselves back into the game despite going 3 goals down. Came too late though. Don't know what happened. I started watching half way through the first half. What do you guys think? Was it fatigue or what? I saw a few tired legs out there. But the MotM today Nasri played 120 mins on Tue you know.
That's it I've given up on the league now. Lets see how long we can stay in the race and give a real go. But if we can't win at home to West Brom (not to say they aren't a good side) we just can't pose a real threat at the top. Chelsea won't lose at home to bottom half table sides and neither will United. and I started watching the match after they scored their second so I don't how bad the performance was so I'll leave it there.
ajwb not this season no, Im not like any other fan, i am a realist and basically we cant compete this year with no signings and a chaos start, city and spurs are ahead of us in terms of quality. And as a realist i will say arsenal will not challenge for the title its a two horse race with chelse and utd or maybe city coming in the frame. Shame.
I was just looking through match reports to see who was sent off, but we played with 11 men the entire match. Credit to West Brom they made me think we were a man less.
We didn't deserve a damn thing today. *****in awful.
Nope, they lost too- They won't be here today.
complacency!!! we didnt and hv never given lesser opponents enough respect and it comes from the boss.. i cant see eboue and diaby starting the game if it was chelsea/united/city on the other when the boss fileds a weakened side he has disrespected the opposition and the players showed that today with the most uninspiring performance i've seen from arsenal over the last 10 yrs.. the weekend has been ruined and i can only see it getting worse next week.
These are the games which really question our title credentials. Could you imagine a team which gets beat outright like that challenging for the league?
Come on Julie...Title lost again?......There's a fair few games yet and I'm sure many more twists and turns. Your right JT, It seems Chelski's loss is bad, but not that bad, so I guess that makes our loss bad...but not that bad. I think I would feel a whole lot worse if I were looking at Chelski sitting lofty on 18 points! Cluthing at straws maybe but I certainly aint throwing the towl in after one loss, all be it at home to WBA!
Dreadful-That's the description of our performance today. And All hatss off to Samir Nasri to bring us back into it by almpst himself. He and Arshavin were the only ones who looked like they were proud to wear that red and white strip
Four points behind with only 32 to play- anybody writing Arsenal off already is an idiot and/or as fickle as a Spud.
Nearly 2 years to the day that we lost at home to Hull too. Two awful, awful, utterly embarrassing results. The unbeaten season seems a long time ago.
gunnerman, its exactly at times like this that we should cash in on chelsea's loss.. they are already 4 ahead of us.. big time bottlers we are, chance to go top last week and chance to cut the deficit to 1 this week.. and we screwed it up BIG TIME
Its a marathon, fellas. Not a sprint. We're just in Matchday 6, so calm down. Gunnerman76, right you are. We all lose, nobody gets affected. Here's to hoping Bolton beat United tomorrow! lol That would be the perfect weekend.
Not writing us off but still this was reminiscent of Wigan(A) last season. Our players weren't up for the game at all
Forgot to say fair play to WBA. Not many teams have got a result at the Emirates....have to give them credit they deserved it. Now I will put my blinkers back on.
Guys, I agree that we are not out of the race. But at home title challengers should be unbeatable against team's from the lower half of the table no matter which side they field. And the injury situation is not going to get better its only late September and we are already without Vermaelen, Cesc, RVP, Walcott and more. Btw, why was Almunia being booed everytime he got a touch, I didn't watch their first two goals.
McGooner- I totally agree with you, we should have taken this opportunity to capitalise on Chelski's loss. What I'm trying to say is we still have 32 more opportunities to cash in....including 2 games against them. Like JT says its a very long season and were not going to get it all our own way. Lets drag our bottom lip off the floor, wipe our bloody nose, stand up straight and walk tall. I'm sure we will get beat again before May. We are never going to go a season unbeaten again in my lifetime....
Should be beating the likes of WBA at home. No disrespect to WBA, solid team they are but this is minimum expectation for title challengers.
gunnerman, like everyone else my heart bleeds arsenal and i hope that we resurrect our season next week.. and even if we lose again, i hope i never see that sort of a performance again from our player.
Every team has an off day, it's our first one of the season so let's not get carried away. We lacked any urgency for the first 60 minutes and our passing was very poor. Diaby didn't look fully fit so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Eboue had one of those days where everything he did went wrong. I felt we should have started with Denilson, Rosicky or Wilshere ahead of him. Nasri was the only player who seemed up for it from the beginning. Hopefully the players can learn from this and our performance in the last 30 minutes was encouraging. A win against Chelsea next weekend is still possible in my opinion with a stronger team out.
Yes Foreverunited I think every gooner would agree on paper we should be beating WBA at home AND away. The thing is not every game will go to Im sure you will find out this season at some point :)
Hey, one plus point is that by "letting" WBA beat us, the spuds have dropped down the table.....I think it was a conspiracy...we threw it for the greater good of the game! (tongue in cheek).
Remember Barcelona lost to newly promoted Hercules at home a few weeks ago, so anything can happen if you have a bad day. Hopefully Bolton will beat Man U tomorrow and make my weekend much better..
bowiecokemirror- Judging by foreveruniteds analysis that would mean that Barca don't stand a chance of winning the title then....all bets are off!
I'm in shock. What the hell happened out there? I understand every team has an off day. But this was beyond having an off day. Pass the alcohol, please...
Unfortunately some people seem to overreact too much to one result Gunnerman. That was a full strength Barca team and they lost 2-0 to a team that hasn't managed to win another game this season. I just hope the fans don't get on Almunia's back too much after one mistake. They should remember Hart, Cech and Reina have all made shocking errors also this season.
Just back from the game. Inept performance. WBA came with an excellent gameplan, looked sharper and seemed to want it more. Arshavin's attitude or workrate, let alone performances, don't merit a starting place IMO. He's for too arrogant out there. I think it's plain to see this team isn't good enough to win the league. It's the same old Arsenal of the last 5 years; good performances, in with a shout, but will probably end up third. To lose is one thing, but to concede 3 goals at home to a promoted side is shocking. It wasn't complacency (for the most part), but you got the sense the players thought they just had to turn up and a goal would come and the game would be won. Here's hoping it was just an off-day, a freak result, but it's all to familiar...
good performance!!!
Pretty good summary Vin.
If we would have beaten Manure and Chelski home and away last season we would have won the league.....simple! Yes I'm gutted we lost but a victory against Chelski in there back yard would more then put this defeat to rest. Football is a funny game....that's why I love it, the ups and the downs. If it wasn't for the downs the ups wouldn't feel as good! Chin up guys, we need to rally this team all the way to May, and that includes Almunia if need be.
Just thought i'd drop by to say thanks for taking the edge off the disapointment we had to deal with today. Well done!!
Tony Rocky Horror

It really was a bad mistake by Almunia. Actually that goal summed up the whole performance really. Its coming straight at you fairly predictably but you still managed to goof it up.
Good stuff folks. We didnt over estimate the intelligence of Spuddies :)
TRH You are a gluten for punishment
"Nope, they lost too- They won't be here today." - JT_daniel. Chelsea fans must blissfully ignorant to the trolling we suffer.
It must be a sad old state at the lane when they lose and still troll on here looking for scraps. Like I said above....
Get a semi about our poor performance and result if you want to Tuesday's Rocky Horror, wont hide the fact that was the spuds 4th defeat in the 10 games uve played this season.
no arse fans on our site either ;)
We are too classy to troll on your sorry abode 123.
looks like we got a great away point at west brom
And you lost a great 3 home points at Wigan 123spurs.......we can all pick and choose results out of thin air. The only result that really matters is the final standings come May.....see you then ;)
thats true we are shocking an lucky in all our games so far
Can't disagree that the gooners were not at the races today, but I reckon a lot of people have been underestimating the Baggies - Di Matteo looks to have made them into a very good attacking force with a defence that is becoming hard to breach (Chelse result being the exception!). So whilst you gooners are bemoaning your loss to one of the supposed "lesser" sides, I think the Baggies are a lot better than most people think. And for those of you espousing the doom and gloom "oh, the title race is over", it's a bit early to write yourselves off isn't it? Everybody has off days, and West Brom have gthe potential to surprise a few teams.
Yeah, I dont think Wenger underestimated West Brom, the players did. He said before the match that losing focus could be fatal and we did and it was. If we had scored in the last minute it would've been very harsh on WB. I only watched the second half and I thought we have had player sent off. West Brom were that good. Outpassed, outplayed, and outfought. Thoroghly deserved win.
Bad day at the office for you guys.
our last three games finished 1-1 sunderland 1-1 spuds (after 90 mins) and 2-3 wba......warning signs?
Di Matteo still has blue blood! Makes my day better! :)
I'm Gutted! Yesterday We're Rubbish! Nasir was to only light in a tunnel of Gloom!
now that was a schock result , well done WBA
