Jack Delighted To Sign On At 'Perfect' Arsenal

Following his signing of a new long term contract, Jack Wilshere has described Arsenal Football Club as 'perfect' for him.

Wilshere committed his future to the red and white half of North London for the foreseeable future after deciding the Gunners are perfect in every way, not least with the perfect manager for his development.

The 18 year old sounded as excited about his deal as we all are, as well as offering his thanks to everyone who has helped him over the years.

'Arsenal Football Club has been like a second home for me and my family since I was nine years old. To be offered a new contract means everything to me.'

'At this point in my career, when I'm only 18 years old and still learning so much about the game and myself, this is the perfect club, the perfect team-mates, the perfect fans, the perfect backroom staff and most importantly, the perfect manager to help continue that.

'I've got a long way to go before I can become the player I dream of becoming and I'm sure I'll keep making the odd mistake, but it is a massive help for me having a special manager like Arsène Wenger and so many quality team-mates and the unbelievable Arsenal fans around me. I believe there is a lot more to come from me.

'I've been at the Club for almost ten years already, so I would like to thank everyone that has been part of getting me this far, especially people like Liam Brady, Roy Massey and all his staff at the Hale End Academy. Also Neil Banfield, Steve Bould, Academy Coach Steve Leonard, Academy Scout Bob Arber, Assistant Head of Youth Development David Court, all the backroom staff, Arsène Wenger, all my team-mates and, of course, my family.'

Well that's just perfect then.

Last night Jack tweeted "dreams do come true" and those of us who follow him didn't know what he was referring to - today we all guess this is what he was talking about. Also, Cesc just tweeted this: "Very emotional video. Thank to all for you faith, we lose together, we win together. we´ll do it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SorPhiHgSOI "

Perfect quote from a proper Gooner. You can just tell that Jack does deeply love the club. Dreams do come true indeed. Very well done Jack and keep up the great work! I agree with Arsenales, I might have got ahead of myself a little bit but I've always seen a bit of captain material in Jack ever since he broke into the first team.

Captain Jack! That does have a ring to it. This is fantastic news, not that I ever doubted it. Jack has Arsenal running through his veins! I would love Fab to stay for a few more years with Jack playing alongside him. It would do Jack the world of good playing alongside him for as many games as he can. Anyone found any odds on Jack being England captain?? That has to be worth a cheeky score!

Jaelle- Am I allowed to say that video put a lump in my throat? The bit where Henry failed to put the ball past Valdes!!!!! arrrggghh!!.... And the poor lad crying his eyes out! Wenger should play that video in his pre match team talk!....We would clear up!

Blimey has he really been with us since the age of 8? So chuffed he has grabbed his playing time with both hands this season, I did suspect it may still be a season too early and I'm happy (altho not entirely surprised) to have been proved completely and utterly wrong, exciting watching a likely future Arsenal legend begin to build on that fledgling promise.

Great news. The lad only needs to keep his feet on the ground, potential wise he is world class.

Does this mean he's due a testamonial at the end of the season? :)
