Damn, very nervous so far.
Sajit
Sagna!!! You magnificent faggot haired ********!
Ozi Gooner
What a powerful shot!!! Also well done to Chamakh who got to the loose ball and cut it back for Bacary!!
GoonerLou
Lou - think it was actually Arshavin that pulled it back to Sagna.
Gooner_Vin
...So far, it's so good. I'd say the team is continuing from where it stopped at the Wolves game. Make no mistake about it, this is a tough place to come but our defense (and luck) has held out, so far. Theo should come in at about the 70th, then Denilson, at some point and that is all the change(s) I'll expect to see.
Naijagunner
That was hilarious from Lukasz.. I dont want any more funny situations!
Sajit
Good thing Cesc didn't hold back Coleman in the box when he showed him a clean pair of heels. Heitinga should have gotten a red for the double kick on Song when he was on the ground. Of course, it won't be noticed by detractors.
Naijagunner
How can you get Andrey mixed up with Chammy? Jack Wilshere has looked impressive in the middle; winning a lot of fouls, winning fouls is a good skill to have you know. One which Denilson sadly lacks; I've never seen a player fouled as often as him with a getting the freekick. If we get the second early on I would like to see, Rosicky and Denilson introduced. I don't think this is the right game to introduce RVP.
gronedrone
Sajit, easy on the man; he is destined to be very crucial for us in the 2nd half.
Naijagunner
Heitinga should of gone for the two footed, knee high lunge on Arshavin. Didn't even get a yellow.
Ozi Gooner
Credit to the LD and the boys in the away end. Drowning out the scousers for most part of the first half.

Mmmmhh. Denilson on for Jack. Too early, if you ask me as it invites eVERTON TO ATTACK US MORE. I thought Jack was doing well keeping Heitinger's attention.
Naijagunner
World class finish from cesc.
gronedrone
Deni made me eat my words there, didn't he. surging forward Wilshire-like.
Naijagunner
Good goal. Just what we need to settle nerves.
Naijagunner
Well in! Squillaci should've gone then for me.
Ozi Gooner
If we don't win this it'll be our first capitulation of the season. We should be 3-0 up.
gronedrone
Clichy is being overloaded on the left. He needs help.
gronedrone
gronedrome, well Rosicky is in just to ensure some cover for Clichy. We are paying more attention to the defensive side of our game, these last 2 games.
Naijagunner
Mmmm. Everton have made to attacking changes and the subs have moved into 'defense'. Lol! Good ball keeping play by the lads.
Naijagunner
Deni needs a more appropriate pair of boots, it will seem.
Naijagunner
For my money, this game could go on for 24 hours and Everton will not score. Good defending by the team today; Plus the keeper, of course.
Naijagunner
That is criminal defending from Arsenal to be so focused on arguing with the ref that you don't notice a short corner
Ozi Gooner
Ouch! Spoke too soon. Webb had a part, distracting our defenders there.
Naijagunner
Yep! Agreed, Ozi. We got our tactics spot on today.I repeat, this is no easy place to come.
Naijagunner
Webb messed up royally with their goal. He can't let them take the corner if he is still remonstrating with Sagna and he also missed that Saha was climbing all over Song. Fabianski deserved the cleansheet, but the win is all the matters.
gronedrone
Ozi, I was agreeing with our defensive focus for the Everton goal, that is. Sounded there like it was in our tactics to be arguing with the ref.....
Naijagunner
I personally thought their goal was a foul (on Song I think), their player was using him as a springboard!
Dberg
You know what, grone, I just saw the replay and that goal shouldn't have stood. Saha was all over Song.
Naijagunner
Not convinced we got our tactics right, actually, I'm not convinced we ever really change our tactics much to suit an opponent. Moyes got his tactics wrong, he tried to play us at our own game, when everyone knows they're a better side when they're direct. I know Fellaini wasn't playing, but Cahill is still one of the best headers in the game, and Saha is no dud, but they barely put a cross in the box. The way they played suited us perfectly.
Ozi Gooner
Phew! Nervy final few minutes, but we held on for the 3pts! So i'm very happy to see us going 2nd! Well Done The Arsenal!
hackneyval
It might've been a foul Dberg, it was still *****e defending regardless
Ozi Gooner
So how many of you have bloody nails right now? :) Nail biting stuff!
Sajit
Ozi it wouldn't be arsenal if they didn't give us a heart attack or two in each match :-) My heart was pounding at the end of that match!
Dberg
Nervous last few minutes, but we held out for a massive three points. I thought that the Chamakh miss and our failure to create much after going 2-0 uo was going to cost us, but thankfully it didn't. I thought Djourou and Denilson were great.
Gun 'Em Down
Nervy but solid enough win in the end...!
GoonerLou
3 points in the bag. Look who's next on the fixture calendar after the Interlull??
Eboue=GOD
Ozi, has it occured to you that we made the pitch too small for them when defending and too wide for them when we were attacking? How many times have you seen Wenger bring on a pure DM, (who closes down and keeps the ball well) at half time, for no obvious reason other than to hold the lead? Everton was all over ManU in the last few minutes of their game, but couldn't manage that much today; a direct result of our ability to stay calm and keep the ball, at the right time. We closed down their crossers very quickly while Djourou was at his heading best today. We got our tactics right today with a significant variation in defensive approach. The only time they scored, we were switched off; that should tell you something.
Naijagunner
overall, arsenal deserved the 3 points.. fabianski looks more assured, squllaci and djorou hv now not lost a single game they've played together.. clichy at times erratic but at times solid.. song motm, nuff said.. fabregas inching back to form, nasri and chamakh thanking their lucky stars everton didnt equalize.. arshavin good running but tired off easily.. denilson, wilshere decent
McGooner
That'll f'kin do. 3 points in the bag. Aside from conceding a late goal it was pretty much plain sailing. When a team commits that much going forward you're either going to concede a goal or you're going to score another. The key when you're 2-0 up is that if you do conded you keep your cool. We did that well. I was nervous after they scored but we defended mightily. Fabinaski was impressive again.
Rocky7
I think Wenger is going to have to give Gibbsy a run in the team when he's back to full strength, Clichy is looking far too susspect at the back. I've always rated him, but he's playing too inconsistent, and Gibbs looks very solid when he comes in.
Rocky7
Agreed Rocky, I'm never confident when clichy has the ball close to our own box.
Dberg
I'm still surprised that Arshavin went out for Rosiky. If Wenger subs in Walcott instead we can exploit the space behind Everton's attacks and possibly keep their wingbacks concentrating on their defense rather than crossing into our area.
Bergkamp4Life
Get in! I had a bad feeling about todays game....glad the boys proved me wrong! Whoooohoo....Chelski 0-2 sunderland...hears hoping!! But Im not holding my breath!
gunnerman76
cashley cole having a clichy brain freeze moment
49ers
Well, gunnerman, it ended 0-3 to Sunderland. You breathing easy now? Chelsea has little on the bench, when you have two key players out injured. It is something they will need to look at.
Naijagunner
Oh, Yes! Chelski lose to Sunderland. What a Great Sunday for The Arsenal!
hackneyval
Naijagunner- I'm breathing very easy now! 6 points at Wolves and the Toffes was priceless. 6 hard points we grafted for! 2 points away and only 6 goals away now. As long as were in touching distance of Chelski come march/April were in with a chance.....bearing in mind we have already gotten some tough away games out of the way!
gunnerman76
Man going to work tomorrow is going to be fun:)
Armory
...To think the, potentially easiest 3, of the 9 points on offer this week, was the one we had to drop.
Naijagunner
** had to lose.
Naijagunner
Massive 3 points, many other teams'll get nothing there this season. Great to see Cesc back shouting, marshalling and directing. Great support as usual although I really wish we'd kill that ten men went to bed with Ashley song, it's feckin tired and makes us look bitter and that we care about the scowling chav. He's dead to us - move the feck on!
nikolaijns
Nikolaijns- Agreed about cole....to be honest I didn't even bat an eyelid when he fluffed, I was more impressed with the way Sunderland played and more importantly our 3 points!
gunnerman76
Bergkamp4Life, seems pretty obvious to me Rosicky came in to track back, something that neither Theo or Arshavin do well.
Ozi Gooner
I haven't watched many non-Arsenal games this season, but has there been a better right-back in the league than Sagna so far? Now that he's vastly improved his crossing (not to mention popping up with a goal) he is looking the complete fullback. And he doesn't have brainfreezes like Clichy does on the other side.
krismon1
***** me that was Nerve-Racking! I thought a lot of people did well, the goal (despite the foul on Song) was pretty poor defending, we had nearly triple the amount of players in the box as they did, someone should have got to it first. Fabianski is playing really well, lets just hope he can add consistency to his game also! Fab's still looked a bit off to me (a lot of passes going astray) but he will get there. Clichy i thought did well, he was getting a lot of action down his side and with minimal cover from Arsh i felt he dealt quite well. Song played excellent defensively today, even before Everton started there onslaught he was covering and tracking back well. A difficult 3 points that we worked hard for and earned, i just wish they wouldn't just about give me a heart attack next time!
FuiKaka
LD called it right before the game; he thought we'd nick it 2-1.
Gooner_Vin
Sorry guys, no match report. I actually wrote one up this morning, but my harddrive died before i could publish.
Little Dutch
Awwwwww, and I was so waiting for your report. I generally trawl other sites but my post-match read is not complete till I read yours.
naijagooner
sucks. Sorry to hear that LD. Was wondering why it hadnt appeared on the site yet.
Sajit
Sorry to hear about the hard drive LD. Not having your report makes it seem that something is missing - it's almost like a part of the game itself for me!
grouvillegooner
Great win - repeat needed guys against the Spuds.
