Oh Gerard Houllier is playing Bobby in the No. 10 role behind Carew, hmm...

I think we have to be 4-0 up before I can feel comfortable that the 3 points are safe given our recent capitulations (",)

Yep I wouldn't be surprised if we started playing some crazy mullet system of 1-4-5 in the scond half just to give Villa a chance to get back in to the game!

2-0 up at half time despite having missed some chances... apparently cruising... We've come to expect the complacency to kick in but we all hope we're wrong!!

I don't really blame the defence too much in this game. It's our inability to finish off our goal scoring opportunities at the other end that is the main problem. Villa have had very few chances and managed to score 2 goals. We have managed 3 goals from about a dozen good chances.

Well done lads, good performance overall. Villa Park is not an easy place to get a result. Villa had some injuries but we also have Vermaelen and Fabregas missing and RvP is not fully fit yet either.

Very happy for Jack who got his first league goal. Very well done to him! Players do their badge-kissing stuff but the boy really loves the club! Not sure who to pick for MotM, Chamakh, Arshavin and Nasri did so well, Jack and Tomas also. The back 4 dealt with the danger well enough overall, couldn't blame them too much for the goals. '4-2 to the Arsenal, 4-2 to the Arsenal!' What a game!

Does Arshavin drink champagne?? Definitelty a question to ask him on his site. If not then he's gonna waste a whole bottle as he's the nailed on MOTM for me

Looking at the posts on this thread, you would not know we were top of the table. Then, of course, you have to reckon that we have had previous opportunities to do so, but failed. Yet again, with our main rivals still to play, we wait, eh.

Jack is my favourite player at the moment, always works hard and uses the ball intelligently. Our midifield looks much better balanced with him in it.

Great win. Our composure when leading the game needs massive improvement still but the boys deserve this win with our attacking players quite outstanding today. Its puzzling that some fans vent their ire when we let in some goals and then not celebrate on here when we go on to win.
