Wenger: Communication Is The Key

Wenger: Communication Is The Key

Arsenal gaffer Arsene Wenger claims lack of communication is the reason The Gunners continue to drop points when it seems as though we have the game already sewn up.

We have dropped points against Sunderland, Spurs, Wigan and Partizan Belgrade (Knowing what we know this could be the costliest of them all) from winning positions already this season, and many people put that down to concentration.

Wenger kind of agrees. 'There was no need to concede the corner that led to the own goal against Wigan. We have to make a bigger effort to communicate - there was no need to concede the corner if someone talks before. That's something we need to rectify.'

'Nobody is taking charge on the organisation side, there is no voice when the focus drops a little bit. We need to recover quickly and focus quickly again,'

'It's down to us. The players are very frustrated after the Wigan game but they can be strong in their belief and think 'that will not happen again'.'

It's an interesting point that many people believe that we don't have enough on field leaders as we did in the days of the invincibles, as it ties in with Wenger's theory that nobody takes charge or responsibility to organise things when we need it the most.

If simple communication is the key to our 'troubles' then it should be a relatively easy problem to rectify, let's hope we see lots of shouting and barking of orders at St Andrews this weekend.

Cheers for that Arsene, we all already know that - it's your job to sort it out.

And you think he will manage that? We will have some glorious victories and then back to the same stupid losses and draws like on Wednesday followed by decelerations from the players that they will need to do better and moaning from Wenger that the players don't communicate well enough. All this will then be repeated ...........again and again and again and again.............................

Who is the 'someone' Wenger is talking about? Doesn't he know who is marshalling his defence? Isn't it his responsibility to make sure these guys are communicating? Seems we are the only team in the league where the defenders don't talk to each other.

Interesting point by the gaffer. I feel it is a reflection of his own style, as well. He needs to do more than just kick a few (harmless) water bottles, from the sidelines, when things go wrong; if the players hear him shout more often, it could help. I agree he isn't the most animated person but these things help and will send the message as to the required reaction. Again, he should choose his leaders, no?
