Arsenal: Wenger Looks To Loan Carlos Vela

Arsene Wenger says given the right opportunity he will send Mexican striker, Carlos Vela out on loan in the new year.

Despite a number of very promising performances, Carlos Vela has struggled to break his way into the first team since he joined the Gunners back in 2005.

Vela has actually spent most of his time since signing for Arsenal out on loan after he failed to secure a work permit, spending time at Celta Vigo, Salamanca and Osasuna.

'Some offensive players don't play games, like Carlos Vela. If he can get games somewhere else we will loan him out.' Said Wenger

'Not sell him, loan him out because he needs to play. He is a top quality player and at the moment we have too many strikers.

'He does not get the games he deserves. He has an opportunity that I let him go somewhere.'

I've always been a big fan of Vela and hoped he would go on to bigger and better things, however going on loan at this stage of his career usually spells the beginning of the end, the only player in recent history to go on loan like this and come back to make himself a career at Arsenal is Nicklas Bendtner, and I'm not sure Carlos has quite the same amount of confidence as big Nick has.

with a minimum 15 games to play in January and February, why should vela go on loan now?

He does need games and I think the gaffer is beginning to feel for him. He is a top quality player who deserves to be in a very good prem side. I do hope a good side comes along; otherwise, the young man may be a key member of the FA cup side.

Maybe we could loan him to Liverpool? He'd be going to a side with good PL pedigree, however it's not like they're going to threaten us this season :)

I hope Vela stays in England during his loan spell. He badly needs it. Btw, how lcuky can Man Utd get? This looks like their year.. They are getting the rub of the green in all crucial matches.

If we had to loan him then he should go to a Premier League side. He needs to toughen up to the rigours of this league. One of his main criticisms is that he is very lightweight. He needs to man up to the challenges and the battle-like nature of English football
