Bowyer Banned For Stamp On Sagna

Bowyer Banned For Stamp On Sagna

Lee Bowyer has bee handed a 3 match ban following his stamp on Arsenal's Bacary Sagna in the 3-0 demolition of The Brum at St Andrew's on New Years Day.

The Gunners overcame a succession of filthy challenges to claim the three points as Arsenal looked to close the gap on leaders Manchester United.

The majority of the filth was spotted by the referee and punished accordingly, if not a little leniently at times (I'm looking at you Roger Johnson!), however former racist, Lee Bowyer got away with a malicious stamp on the Arsenal right back (not to mention raking his studs down the back of the same player's achilles) Bacary Sagna.

The Birmingham City midfielder will now miss three matches.

Good.

Former?! Great that he's been banned but now some other team benefits from the little C*'t trying to deform Bacarys leg. The reffing in this country is appalling beyond belief summed up by Manchester Uniteds finest ref Howard Webb getting an MBE.

Interesting to see McLeish's comments, refusing to comment on Bowyer's challenge before citing a quite innocuous Nasri tackle. It's the sort of obfuscation that would have people raging were Wenger to make the same faux pas.

"From what I saw the Wilshere challenge looked quite bad. Ziggy’s a big lad, not the type to go down to milk it. It looked bad. I thought Eboue’s tackle was awful as well" Thats what Roger Johnson said after we beat them at the Emirates, has anyone found his quotes condemning his own challenge on Saturday? Looked to me like he was a bit p*ssed that he even got a yellow?

Should have been a 6 match ban as he executed 2 red card challenges IMHO. As for Johnson, he's clearly no intention of improving his tackling ability as Jack publicly stated he would straight after that match. Fecking Brum hypocrites! And to think they used to accuse us of being too soft!

What's happening at City? Are they gonna have any players fit enough to face us? http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/851737-emmanuel-adebayor-and-kolo-toure-in-training-fight-before-arsenal-game?

Kolo is one of the nicest guys in football, and let's be honest, who wouldn't want to give Adebayor a slap in the face!

You're right. Must have taken a hell of a lot to get Toure steamed up. I wonder if Adebayor knows how big a ***** he is.

Well, at least we're agreed on something - Hope Kolo gave him a slap for both sets of fans. P.S. Yes the ref was crap and should have sent Bowyer off, but at least this was one of those incredibly rare cases where justice was done retrospectively.
