Bowyer Banned For Stamp On Sagna

Lee Bowyer has bee handed a 3 match ban following his stamp on Arsenal's Bacary Sagna in the 3-0 demolition of The Brum at St Andrew's on New Years Day.

The Gunners overcame a succession of filthy challenges to claim the three points as Arsenal looked to close the gap on leaders Manchester United.

The majority of the filth was spotted by the referee and punished accordingly, if not a little leniently at times (I'm looking at you Roger Johnson!), however former racist, Lee Bowyer got away with a malicious stamp on the Arsenal right back (not to mention raking his studs down the back of the same player's achilles) Bacary Sagna.

The Birmingham City midfielder will now miss three matches.

Good.

Former?! Great that he's been banned but now some other team benefits from the little C*'t trying to deform Bacarys leg. The reffing in this country is appalling beyond belief summed up by Manchester Uniteds finest ref Howard Webb getting an MBE.

Interesting to see McLeish's comments, refusing to comment on Bowyer's challenge before citing a quite innocuous Nasri tackle. It's the sort of obfuscation that would have people raging were Wenger to make the same faux pas.
Little Dutch
"From what I saw the Wilshere challenge looked quite bad. Ziggy’s a big lad, not the type to go down to milk it. It looked bad. I thought Eboue’s tackle was awful as well" Thats what Roger Johnson said after we beat them at the Emirates, has anyone found his quotes condemning his own challenge on Saturday? Looked to me like he was a bit p*ssed that he even got a yellow?
iceman10
Should have been a 6 match ban as he executed 2 red card challenges IMHO. As for Johnson, he's clearly no intention of improving his tackling ability as Jack publicly stated he would straight after that match. Fecking Brum hypocrites! And to think they used to accuse us of being too soft!
Wyn Mills
Priceless Bowyer pic BTW. Lol!!

We've Got Cesc Fabregas, You've Got Lee Bowyer

What's happening at City? Are they gonna have any players fit enough to face us? http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/851737-emmanuel-adebayor-and-kolo-toure-in-training-fight-before-arsenal-game?
Wyn Mills
Kolo is one of the nicest guys in football, and let's be honest, who wouldn't want to give Adebayor a slap in the face!
gunnerkid107
You're right. Must have taken a hell of a lot to get Toure steamed up. I wonder if Adebayor knows how big a ***** he is.
Wyn Mills
Well, at least we're agreed on something - Hope Kolo gave him a slap for both sets of fans. P.S. Yes the ref was crap and should have sent Bowyer off, but at least this was one of those incredibly rare cases where justice was done retrospectively.
fifthcolumnblue
Bowyer was an Arsenal junior. He learnt everything he knows at your club. Oh the irony of thugs slagging off thugs!
Tony Rocky Horror
My my the troll has resurfaced.....cant say I missed it. On the bust up at MC between Kolo and the wannabe spud could not have happened at a better time I must say.
Armory
The problem with justice being done retrospectively is that it only benefits some other club. (or not depending on what value you think Bowyer brings to Birmingham). Not that it mattered in the end but we should have been playing against 9 men by the end of the match. When one sees Koscienly being sent off for an innocuous hand ball you do tend wonder what its all about.
Wyn Mills
I'd side with Adebayor if he gave TRH a slap.
Iceman10
Agreed Wyn, but I guess it's a case of better late than never in some cases. On the subject of silly cards, Adam Johnson picked up a yellow for blowing a kiss at a player that had just fouled him. YCMIU

I dunno if these things come in waves, but there's been a spate of truly bad refereeing performances recently. I don't see why we can't have instant TV review of the worst red-card offences (as happens in Rugby) so that the incidents referees miss can be reported and acted on during the game. I guess it would be difficult to implement across the width and breadth of the leagues.
Wyn Mills
Well, if Blackpool can't even manage undersoil heating, can't imagine Accrington Stanley setting up video playback equipment! Besides, HRH Blatter doesn't seem to be in favour of anything that can't be bought.
fifthcolumnblue
TRH - Just because Bowyer was a Arsenal junior doesn't mean he learnt that stuff from us. I meant Campbell started life at Spurs and ended up a winner. Go figure.
Rocky7
in the midst of all this, can we get a hand for Bacary Sagna keeping a cool head in the midst of all this aggression? (can't forget Rio Ferdinand's disgraceful lunge at OT) I would have retaliated - in both cases - and I know a lot of others would have as well. Bac is one incredibly focused, disciplined, hard working and FAIR player, bravo!
Arsene_Wonder
Good news indeed. Just hoped/wanted it to be a longer ban because there were multiple fouls missed by the ref. AWonder is also right that Sagna deserves a lot of credit for the mature way he handled this. Also wanted to highlight yet again how very solid he's been defensively and that he's also significantly improved his crossing this season. Top pro.
GoonerLou
Can only agree with the last two posts . Keeping your discipline in those situations is very hard, and good for Bac for doing so, to go along with his top all round performances game after game
grouvillegooner
Sagna's also an extraordinary athlete. 3 games in a very short amount of time - forget exactly how many days. Always behaves honorably on the pitch too.
jaelle
Rocky7 great comeback LMFAO ! Hey TRH the jerkstore called....they're running out of you !
Will-i-am10
Maybe you should give him a call then..maybe he'd know how to mark Younes Kaboul from a freekick. Seriously, move on, the Campbell thing is getting old now. Mind you I have to say I do enjoy it as well. It only serves to confirm just how desperate you're getting. Will-i-am10, say toofwee ten times, one after the other...asshole!
Henry Baker Brown
We should move on from the Campbell thing? Wow, just wow. Remind me which set of fans were prosecuted for singing appalling songs about him seven years after he left?
Little Dutch
Say fwiftyyears ten times one after the other. Maybe you should give Sol a call as you have a worse defense than we do.
iceman10
In American gangsta speak-TRH got owned
Eboue=GOD
Don't give a toss about your jibes cos we're a *****ing mint team on for the league. Sorry.
Tony Rocky Horror
If you didn't give a toss you wouldn't be here troll.
Deltaforce
Yeah right TRH really didn't give a toss commenting on an article that doesn't involve any of his players about an incident that didn't involve his team on an Arsenal site.
GoonerLou
Troll RH keep your tossing for the bathroom. Go you toffees !
Will-i-am10
To add to that Seamus Coleman was in my fantasy team as well. Double delight for me. Also I really do pity Chelsea at the moment. They are behind you guys TRH. What could be worse for them.
Eboue=GOD
im a Spurs fan but i hate that **** bowyer
