Perfect line up, let's smash these guys!
It's been a long time since we've crushed somebody. I'd love for it to be today, but I'd take any win now
No pink kit for Szczesny today. He'll be happy about that!
Wigan isn't going to come here to hide. We have to start cautiously and score early. That's all we need.
Poor call by the Lino. Cesc was onside.
RvP needed to get much better contact on the ball then he dd. The bounce made it awkward.
YEEEESS! We've got our Robin back!! 4 in 3 for RvP
******** SHOOT!!!! Ahhhhhh Theo
Can't watch the game. From BBC text updates it seems we're playing quite well eh?
What's with all the wrong offside calls?
We are playing quite well and should be at least 2-0 up, for some reason Walcott decided to pass instead of shoot. Also several mystifying offside decisions have kept us from getting a second. The Wigan 'keeper has been very good too.
It is about 12 goal attempts to none GoonerLou. It is amazing we are not 5 up by now.
We could say we've been wasteful infront of goal, and whilst we have missed a couple of guilt edged chances, we are one up, and their keeper has made two or three world class saves and they've made a couple of last ditch sliding tackles. Very happy with the performance, and still convinced we'll score three or four. While Wigan haven't been dirty as such, they've certainly been a little to robust in the tackles on Cesc.
Amazing performance from the boys but if we don't win today we'll be looking back at all those chances wasted. We can't keep this level of intensity up for the rest of the game so we should take advantage of our domination. Wigan have been absolutely toothless but teams only need one chance to score against us. COME ON ARSENAL!!
Walcott's decision to pass was ridiculous when he was clean through. The players need to MTFU and take some responsibilty and shoot when in front of goal.
i have a feeling that vpersie would be catching up with the premier league top scorers chart, after having missed a few weeks earlier in the season
Sumptuous, absolutely sumptuous. What a peach of a pass (and a goal). RvP is truly back!! 2-0!
do we wrapped him in cotton wool to protect him, or do we let him hattrick?
Oh what a lovely goal to see as I just turned on the game! :D
Glad to see RvP back to his best but why are we not out of sight?
Nice to see a little payback from Cesc. He was stupid to raise his hands to Caldwell's face.
And tiny totts behind against Newcastle:)
First time I've ever seen van Persie miss.
Did he ********* raise his hands to Caldwell's face. That was nothing more than put his hands on his head, in a friendly way to say "You've kicked me all afternoon, it's a foul, so stop moaning". Nothing stupid in that at all.
OH dear robin...what was that?
I would have said it was the weight of expectation for a 3rd goal, but RvP is surely more experienced to bury that penalty. Poor kick.
van Persie hits the post. Normality returns to his play!
his hattrick ;_;
Arshavin for Nasri? That is a rare sight, with the game still undecided.
He'll get over it it's still time enough for his hattrick.
RvP can still score a 3rd. Hopefully, Arshavin can bring back some pace back to our attacking.
Two nil, with Wigan down to ten men, i think the game is decided ..... oh .... wait ....
AA for Nasri to give Nasri a breather ..
Er I'm not an AA slater but he really needs some time to get back in form...
Ad what more better then to give him more play time in match that SHOULD be wrapped. Less pressure to build confidence.
They are down to 10 men gunnerlou best time for AA to come on and get some quality gametime.
Once again I find myself applauding Sagna!
3-0 !!! RvP gets his hat trick!! with his right (chocolate leg?).
Lol I knew there ws time:)
Not a bad week for Robin
7 in 5 RvP have truly arrived.
I felt sorry for AA, he should try to keep it simple for the time being.
Nice ovation for Arshavin when he went to take that corner.
We are racking up the clean sheets in the new year.
Good to see the home support giving Arshavin some encouragment, it's what he needs. Took a bit of stick on Tuesday, and in the previous games, but you could see the crowd trying to help him along. Great performance, could have been more but whose going to complain at 3 points, 3 goals, a hat trick and a comfortable game? Not me that's for sure. next up ... let's get ourselves to wembley!!
I think the lads played a little with the brakes at 2-0; with our midweek game in mind. A good win, nonetheless, especially as it still keeps us on United's tail.
....Our (tiny Tots) neighbours got a late goal to draw Newcastle.
We have given up 22 goals this season, while United, Chelsea, and City have had 19 scored on them. Not that much difference really.
How many of you believe we can do the job against Ipswich. Positively nervous about that fixture. We need to go for it, while they can just sit back and park a bus.
I was until I was reminded that the away goals rule only counts after extra time .... I'm fully confident that we'll get a 2-3 goal led of the course of that amount of time.
Wonderful result. Was almost made better until Spurs equalised in the last minute at St James Park. Its good to have RVP back leading the attack.
Wyn Mills
RvP took all 3 goals without even taking a first touch... Robin Bang Bang Bang persie... different class... thought the ref was good.. calm and no fuss.. unlike the many graham poll babies of this league
Does anyone else think Robin van Persie is a Ben Affleck look alike? Lol!
Naijagunner - no, don't see the Ben Affleck resemblance. Was at the game earlier, great to see RvP back and playing so well, even more pleasing to see the team really play for each other. The fans need to get behind Arshavin though. There were a few moans and groans when he gave the ball away. Okay, he wasn't great, but he needs our support.

Funny that a lot asked earlier in the season whether RvP could get his place back off Chamakh. No disrespect to MC, who has played brilliantly, but there are only about two other players in the top flight who could have scored that second goal today.
Little Dutch
Chesney may have been disappointed today- he was hardly on TV at all!
You read his tweet elbondo?
@Dberg- no, I don't do Twitter. Please share.
I'm not on twitter myself, got this from A Cultured Left Foot. Szczesny on twitter: “Did any of you notice that I was acctually playing today? Great result and well done”
-> LOL at poll on the side... I wanna vote the captain in the last 5 minutes D: Denilson :o
I have to say I was very impressed with the way Theo shielded the ball while waiting for RvP to arrive on the third goal. He had a defender on his back but he showed great upper-body strength and intelligence. he has really progressed this season. Kudos Theo.
Not impressed with his one on one with the keeper when he elected to pass though. He'll learn for next time he has a chance like this. Maybe against Barca.
Loving Szcscczcszczcesny, very confident player, lovely kid too!
