Vote For Your VA Player Of The Season

Vote For Your VA Player Of The Season

It`s that time of the year again when the readers of Vital Arsenal vote for their player of the season, young player of the season, favorite goal, best burger stand, nicest blade of grass etc etc.

Of course many people might not feel like voting this year after our complete and total capitulation, however I feel there was lots to be pleased about and does deserve credit so our polls will be open to all. If you didn`t see anything worth voting for, don`t vote, it`s that simple.

We`ll start with the Vital Arsenal Player Of The Year Award. You`ll find the poll to the bottom right of this page. Site limitations mean I can only fit 14 players on there but I think you`ll find the choice more than adequate.

The poll will run for a week then we`ll move on to Young Player of the Season.

It'll be interesting to see who people go for. Despite a poor end to the season, there are plenty of candidates but probably no absolute stand outs. Think I've decided mine though and I'll run an article on it next week, after everybody's voted.

I've already voted. And despite waxing lyrical about Wilshere and van Persie who have been vital to our season, I went for Sagna. The guy is an absolute rock. Wilsehre and van Persie play in high profile positions and can and do get all the glory, I think it's important Bac gets some love because despite RB being lower profile, it's no less important and he has been awesome this year.

I'd love to see Sagna get the official one, he deserves that level of recognition because he's performed in every single game.

van Persie dominating the early votes. And despite voting for Bac you just can't argue against it. The dude has been phenominal!

Nasri's slump in form towards the end has not done him any good, has it? Fans have allowed the more recent memories to becloud the early season accolades showered on the lad.

Wilshere for me. Don't get me wrong I'm delighted with Sagna and van Persie's consistency and the improvement throughout the season of Szczesny and Koscielny but 12 months ago if you said that Jack would start, and essentially run a Champions League match against Barcelona you'd be ridiculed. An unbelievable rise to stardom. Walcott is getting better no doubt, but Jack is having the sort of immediate impact we all hoped and thought Theo would have. For his first 'proper' season, to nail down a place ahead of some good competition and end up in the PFA Team of the Year is an outstanding achievement. He's got everything needed for a midfielder and while he doesn't have Fabregas' guile, I'd argue he's a more rounded player in that he'll run and run and won't shy away from a challenge. Not only Arsenal but England will be building teams around him in years to come. A shining light in a dreary season.

Had to be Bac right.... Nasri, brilliant in first half. Poor in second half. Robin , second most important player for us this season... but Bac - a freaking rock every game.

I find it fantastic that Nasri is at 2% right now, considering he was our best player till December - and thats half the season!

My vote goes to Laurent Koscielny. He gave it all. He is a no nonsense defender. He came from france to england and initially Refs were targeting him by trying to make a mess of Wenger's transfer for not signing british. He took care of messi and Rooney and the best at it this season. He is a 100% MAN MARKER. He will learn more about the opposition next season and know individual strikers better. Yes RVP is 1 but i give it to Kos for coming 2nd in my book. Sagna 3rd and Wilshere 4th.

I never considered Nasri, he was fine the 1st part of the season and now he is trying to Milk our little Budget (Tranfer + Wages) which will affect our signings and wage structure. For 80k is more than enough for an half season player, but to want more is suicidal for our budget. These players needs to understand we operate on budget, if you take more it gives less chances of getting better players to play along side. We ain't City or SPurs that over shoot their budget.
