Pearce Sees The Light As Jack Stays Home

England under 21s manager, Stuart Pearce has finally taken the sensible step of ruling Jack Wilshere out of the up coming International tournament.

Pearce had previously risked the wrath of Wenger after saying he was taking Jack and that was that. However after some well placed comments regarding Jack and Liverpool`s Andy Carrol, Pearce has opted to leave the pair at home.

'Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere will not be part of the Under 21 squad which travels to Denmark. Andy has been ruled out through injury,' said on the FA`s website

'I spoke to Jack last week and he explained that while he told me in March that he wanted to be part of the squad, he now feels he is not in the best condition to take part in the finals.'

'I spoke to Jack last week and he explained that while he told me in March that he wanted to be part of the squad, he now feels he is not in the best condition to take part in the finals.'

'That is based on the number of games he has played for Arsenal this season, sports science data which Jack was presented with last week and concerns he has for his fitness looking ahead to next season.

'Jack has always expressed his enjoyment at being involved with the U21 squad, and while I am disappointed not to have him with us for the finals I've accepted the situation. I am very conscious of the importance of looking after all our players, and that is why I have frequent conversations with club managers throughout the season.

Wenger had also commented that Wilshere would miss pre-season and the start of the new season claiming the young Englishman would need a lengthy rest after a gruelling campaign in which he took part in more than 50 games followed with the Under 21s tournament.

However now we should have a rested and refreshed Jack Wilshere ready for the new season.

Good work Arsenal, Pearce is too much of a clump to realise we actually sent Arshavins data to him :)

Great news. Wilshere would certainly benefit from a proper pre season to take his game up another notch for the new season. If he adds goals to his game he would develop into a near complete midfielder.

I have spent the afternoon listening to commentary on this matter and I have to say Wenger is coming in for a huge deluge of criticism. And, in my view, with every justification. Two points are important here. Firstly Wilshire was presented with a compendium of statistics which 'showed' him he was tired. Well no ***** sherlock! Wilshire has been utterly rinsed by Wenger this season, exploited would be a good word for it. Why? Because of Wenger's incompetence. He couldn't get his act together and sort his squad out and so Wilshire has been forced to play over and over again. In fact, he has spent more time on the pitch than any other Arsenal player! *****ed over by Wenger. Now he's been tricked by the old man into missing out on one of the most important moments of his career! Seriously, you couldn't make it up. And, when he starts to break down Wenger will start trying to blame the tackling of other teams. The truth, as everybody knows, is that Wenger is using this lad as a human shield to protect his arse and his 6 million a year job. I hope Fabregas gets the move he years for and escapes this professional bully. I wish him well. I actually feel sad for Wilshire.

A good pre-season? What you mean dragging Wilshire's arse around China as a publicity stunt, so Arsenal plc can try to cash in the popularity of the premier league, so they can set up sweat shops in Beijing, selling millions of pounds worth of rubbish to peasants? I wonder if Wenger will have a clipboard of stats showing how 'tired' he is then, when the money men come calling, demanding their pound of Wilshire's flesh? I doubt it. This is all stems back to Wenger and his failings, which somebody for some reason wants to cover up. Shameful.

I'm relieved the players aren't too down that would be terrible, it's bad enough having the fans moping about. Good to see them publically larking about reminiscing about the size of each others cocks. Wilshere hung like a rhino apparantly, thats enough to get you over a self combusting f*[kstorm that we in January fondly remembered as a season.

On side note..there has been rumours about players leaving Arsenal. Does it mean that all the Bench IX are leaving ? Players like . 1.Almunia. 2. Eboue. 3.Gibbs (On loan). 4. Denilson 5. Squillaci. 6.Djourou. 7. Arshavin. 8. Diaby. 9.Bendtner 10. Rosicky 11. Vela.....All these are are sh..t IX. Who among these players stays?

For me only Djourou and Eboue deserve some sympathy in terms of wages/productivity. Eboue brings other things to the table. And we will be losing 5 homegrown players.

I'd hold onto Gibbs (far from ready for regular berth but promising, fitness allowing) Djourou and give Diaby and Arshavin a last season apiece. Wouldn't lose a seconds sleep over the rest just don't look to make a profit as in the main the cheap purchasing cost has more than paid for them.

Pearce is copping out, by blaming Wilshere for this decision. Does that mean Pearce does not look at player stats to make his decision on which players to take? Incompetence.

Heh, have to laugh at the troll. Criticised for not playing English players, now criticised for playing them too much. One can only imagine how this was relayed to Pearce. "Jack tired. Jack play more, Jack get owy." "Eh?" "Jack might get booboo, not play anymore."

The worst damage to come out of this is to Capello. He said the reason England did so badly at the world cup was tiredness; the response? Send his new centre mid to play in a junior cup the summer before the Euros. Capello should have put his foot down and told Pearce Wilshere isn't going. It's hard to blame Pearce for wanting to boost his own CV, but he shouldn't have been allowed to make the desicion.

though I understand the priority for Arsenal to want to keep Wilshere at home instead of going with the U-21s, if wenger was so worried about his physical state, why didnt he rest him more during the season instead of flogging him all season, when the GPS figures were apparently telling him that he was an injury risk.

What I find hilarious is all this media coverage of a tournament England puts little effort into by failing to produce players who can actually win it and assigning a crap manager who can't ever make a success of any tournament. Pearce is a joke of a manager. What idiots like the Ugly Arsenal-Obsessed Troll ignore is that Arsenal went thru all this with Theo Walcott - he went to the U21s, got injured, came back unable to play, had a horrible season with injury & poor when he could play and then failed to get into the world cup. If the Ugly Arsenal-Obsessed Troll is so concerned about England's performance in major tournaments, he should be concerned about Jack's fitness for Euro 2012 and not some youth tournament no one cares about.

Exactly shewore. He ran the lad into the ground because he had little, if any, faith in the back-up. Shame really no-one had the balls to tap him on the shoulder and remind him that HE is the one responsible for player recruitment and it therefore follows axiomatically that if a player is too ***** to play that is HIS fault. The more shocking aspect of all this is that Wenger spent a week compiling a dossier of stats to rob Wilshire of an opportunity to play for his country whilst he should have been preparing his team for a crucial match. Arsenal have now finished fourth in a two horse race but that's by the by. The plain, hard and unpallatable fact for some is that Wilshire wanted to go but has been blocked from doing so by his manager who used him continuously, far beyond his capacities. I'm afraid it's another example of a foreign manager showing a lack of respect for England. It is not a Frenchman's place to dictate to an Englishmen when he can play for his country. What a total outrage.
