Wenger insists Wilshire WILL NOT play for England

From Vital England:

Not for the first time Arsene Wenger has 'warned' Fabio Capello about one of his Arsenal men...

The Arsenal manager, as he told the clubs official website, insists that Jack Wilshere will not feature for England against Holland this midweek: 'they can include him as much as they want, he will not play (because of injury).'

Wilshere was included in the squad that Capello announced at the weekend.

Having already had a 'club v country' row over the teenager - mostly with Stuart Pearce - before the Euro U21s earlier this summer, which Wenger won, there is another brewing here...

To be fair to Wenger here though he already said that if Wilshere was not fit enough to feature in Arsenal's final pre-season friendly with Benfica, due to an ankle injury, he would not be fit for Three Lions duty.

Its good to have competition in CM at last. Cleverley was good in yesterday's game and needs as much time on the field as Wilshere gets to move to the next stage of his development.

Rightly so aswell. Jack needs to take it easy, I don't know how many times we have to have this discussion with International teams, if OUR player wasn't fit enough to play in our previous game then he shouldn't play for the National side till he's fit for his club side. Common sense has prevailed it seems

Wenger is right this time, but his track record shows that he's always have problems with National team managers. It'd always seem as if he is wrong.Just a case of an ex-convict seen at the scene of a crime.

Phew! Thank goodness for that. Anybody know the injury situation with Theo, Vermaleen, Koscielny and van Persie? We can't afford to start without at least 2 of those, tbh.

Sorry to go off topic but what do you guys think of Chamberlain and his reported medical then?

Naija - I'd bet my last pound that RvP will play on Saturday. That bit of a kick he took against Benfica was the perfect excuse to avoid yet another friendly for our favorite Dutchman to get crocked in.

TFN7, I think Chamberlain is one for the future and not 'the signing' we all hope Wenger will make. It is quite unfortunate that the possible signing of such a talent cannot provide the kind of Buzz it deserves, just because most gooners expect more from the Manager. Still, better to wait till the transfer is confirmed then the jury may be out on Wenger.

Ah! It is confirmed. I like...I like.

TFno7, from whatever I have tried to understand about Chamberlain, there was a reason United and Liverpool were interested too. AOC seems to have a mature head and has quite some skill apart from speed.
