Cesc Trains With Arsenal Despite Rumours He'd Gone

Cesc Fabregas today trained with his Arsenal team mates despite the world wide web erupting with claims that the Arsenal captain has signed for Barcelona.

Photographs on the official club website clearly show Fabregas participating in a training session that the club says took place on Friday ahead of the first game of the new season against Newcastle.

This follows Arsenal Wenger`s statement saying he wasn`t expecting anyone to leave Arsenal football club this month.

Samir Nasri was also pictured in training.

You can view the pictures here.

Weird that. I thought him and Nasri were gone too. Surely only a matter of hours/days now though?
Gooner_Vin
I would have thought so. Still adds more credence to Wenger's statement that he doesn't expect anyone to leave (which I reckon is the only reason pictures of training were posted on Arsenal.com) and less to that curly haired c*** Puyol. Booooooooooyyyyyy!

Link is no longer working

Rocky, the unconfirmed buzz is that Fabregas left the training session before the end. The bozo trio of Puyol, Valdes and Pique have tweeted claiming that Cesc was in Spain.

Odd that linksn't workig. Copy and paste it - http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/38998/arsenal-in-training-picture-special ..... Delta, That's some swift travel to get from training to barcelona in that time!
Rocky7
I think he got on a flight at about midday. I think this will be confirmed by all parties in a few hours.
Little Dutch
The link above isn't working but if you go to the official website you can see the pictures and Cesc is on pic 23. Very strange that both Cesc and Nasribayor are there in view of their imminent departures though. I suspect there's some poker being played at the negotiation table and he who cracks first loses. Could it be AFC being adamant to City and Farca that we won't sell unless our price is met?
Gooner_Vin
I'm not doubting he's off ... just find it all very strange is all.
Rocky7
So weird, Wenger saying that as well today is completely mugging the press & anyone who listens to him off. Treats people with utter contempt.

Link is now working. Accidently slipped a bit of code into the link.
Rocky7
he trained in the morning, and is reported to have jetted of to Spain later in the day. Reports are that he (along with Nasri) has not been included in the match squad for the Toon match.
chiches
He wouldn't have been inlcuded had he stayed chiches, he hasn't played a single pre-season match. Thinking about it, you don't think Wenger had left Cesc out of everything and left it till the last minute simply to spite Barcelona so as they don't have a fit player once he joins do ya? Nah ...
Rocky7
Apparently he's still in London and Arsenal have rejected the bid....this is all surreal. Good on AFC if that's the case.
shewore
Nasri's sickness is there for all to see in the pics on the website as he smiles and plays football. Wish I could do that when I was sick...
Gooner_Vin
The more Arsenal take the ***** out of Barca the happier I will be. F*** em.
Rocky7
Awwww...i'm really gonna miss this transfer saga!Imagine a summer where Cesc isn't trying to force a move through to Barcelona, those ****-cock-heads at Barcelona not whining about the kidnap and suffering of poor ol'Cesc...damn,BORING SUMMERS ahead!!!
Blezbluez
Word I'm getting is that this is definitely done, only thing that could postpone announcement is the fact that Arsenal fly up to Newcastle tonight and might not verify paperwork till after the game.
Little Dutch
Where did you hear that Arsenal have rejected a bid Shewore?
Dberg
Not sure that anyone going up to Newcastle would be needed to verify anything would they LD. Arsene Wenger might be the gaffer but I don't think he actually has to sign or verify anything. Surely that would be down to Ivan or Silent Stan?
Rocky7
It would be Ivan and other club officials. But they all travel to away games.
Little Dutch
There are also more administrative duties than we think which require official paperwork. Taking him off the payroll for example and ratifying at what date he comes off.
Little Dutch
According to Sky Sports Guardiola has instructed Fabregas to remain in England until after the Madrid game on Sunday. Seems odd to tell Fabregas to wait after 2 years of desperately chasing him.
TheFamousNo7
What the ***** is going on?
Gunnerman
Oh dear.. this is what happens when you are a selling club.. 6 long fantastic years and still counting.. COYS
