'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cesc pays tribute to Arsenal fans (AUDIO)

Having completing his £35m move to Barcelona, Cesc Fabregas was quick to thank his former Arsenal colleagues for the support they'd given him over the past eight years.

The former Gunners skipper, who moved to North London from Barca as a 16-year old, insisted for the North Londoners to succeed, they must back Arsene Wenger and allow him to rebuild the side.

The Spanish international also paid tribute to Arsenal's fans, apologising for his silence over recent months, but insists he gave his all during his time there.

One regret remains however - in his seven years in the first team, he has just one FA Cup to show for it, having won Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup at international level.

Thanks for that. I would have been very surprised if he didn't have anything but kind words for Arsene and gooners. He may have barcelona dna but he has always loved the club with his heart.

So he should have nothing but good to say about Arsene, Arsenal and us fans. Wenger spotted and helped make him into the player with the reputation he enjoys today, Arsenal gave him the platform and the profile, and we fans idolized him and stood by him.

For me i need some Fu**ing ARSENAL fans to show some respect to the team by not joining the media in killing the spirit of the team(present players). We need these fans now more than ever. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE.

To all Gunners: A big thank you for your unconditional support during the last 8 yrs. Just say that I will always carry you in my heart!
Sajit
I agree Arseniger, while the club could certainly move in the transfer market decisively now, the fans have their own share of responsibility to support the club right now. It certainly needs it and negative chants at the Grove for the CL play off against Udinese will be counter productive.
