The Spirit Of Henry Norris Could See Us Through

Some interesting news coming out of UEFA is that Arsenal could still take place in this seasons Champions League even if we are knocked out by Udinese.

Reports coming from Turkey confirm that the Turkish FA have removed Fenerbache from this season`s CL as match fixing allegations continue to dog them. Their Football Assosiation had to take the measure after the clubs themselves refused to bow to UEFA who had asked them to pull out.

However it became clear that failure to pull Fenerbache out could put Turkey`s place in Euro 2012 in jepoardy as well as future Turkish places in in the Champions League.

UEFA have not made it clear as to how they will fill Fenerbache`s spot in the competition, but with other Turkish teams who would be eligible also invloved in the match fixing scandals, it`s possible the team with the highest coefficient knocked out in the last set of qualifiers COULD take that place.

Of course with our continued participation and some relitive success as reaching the later rounds goes … that place would belong to us.

However it would be much easier to just win our match and let someone else think about this mess.

The sound of Sp*rs fans screaming in their inept rage at our "unearned" inclusion almost makes that seem like a desireable outcome.

Lol - we'd probably to go on to win the whole thing and then forever have accusations thrown at us! That would be pretty funny :)

Would certainly be the first bit of good news you've had this summer, though don't know how Udinese would feel if they beat you then came to face you later on in the competition!

Jljyid, some people *ahem* still begrudge Arsenal their original spot in the top flight. Just some friendly ribbing.
smithdj74
It doesn't matter now anyway, the spot has reportedly been given to Trainspottingspore.
