Henry & Gallas Have No Chance

Arsene Wenger says Thierry Henry and Billy Gallas both have very little chance of playing in next weekends Carling Cup final. Wenger has maintained that he will stick with his policy of playing the youngsters and fringe players.

Despite Wenger`s constant insistence that he will not be fielding his first XI, every pundit and his goldfish has said that Wenger will likely filed something close to his first team against Chelsea next Sunday.

Wenger has once again come out and said that he will play the players that have taken part so far, stating that it would be unfair on the players who have done Arsenal oh so proud so far in the competition.

"I will play the players who have made the whole campaign," said Wenger.

"They must have contributed at least one game. This competition is a bit special for me so I will keep it special to the end.

"Jens is suspended anyway. William Gallas, I don't think he has a chance to play and Thierry will not be involved either. It would not be fair to play the big players.

"Thierry knew from the start that he was not involved in this competition anyway."

There is one way that Thierry will line up against Chelsea next week - if Arsenal suffer another injury crisis in the next 7 days: "Listen. I can`t say today he [definitely] won't play. If we have three injuries he will play.

'You can never say never in our job. But, basically, if everybody is available he will not play.'

Starting line up for Sunday: Almunia, Hoyte, Kolo, Djourou, Traore, Hleb, Diaby, Cesc, Denilson, Aliadiere, Baptista. FACT!

Fair play to him for sticking to the players that have got you there. It would be very unfair to take it away from them now.

I agree Rocky, the only change could be Clichy in for Traore. Still I wish Traore will get some playing time.

Here's my take: Almunia; Hoyte, Kolo, Djourou, Clichy; Hleb, Denilson, Diaby, Rosicky; Aliadiere, Baptista. Subs: Poom, Traore, Senderos, Cesc, Adebayor
devvil
it's only right and fair that the players who took us there, should be the ones who get the right to compete for the trophy. »»Arsene Knows««

If it aint broken don't fix it!
sandgroanun
Basically if 2 players get sick :)

The players who got us there have to play. We are not Chelsea who reward players like Bridge (who was playing out his skin pre Cashley) by dropping them for no apparent reason. Arsene is a man of his word and those players will only be in the squad if there is an injury crisis of Sp*rs vs West Ham proportions.

What's the price on Theo's first goal being a cup winning one? I'll have a tenner on it :P
Rocky7
Who cares who plays as long as they play with passion and never give up!
AB_Arsenal
I agree with devvil's line-up, but I think Walcott will be in there as well. Don't know at whose expense though...

iceman , bridge was hardly playing before cole came, mourinho isn't playing a specific team for each competition, he's rotating , if wayne bridge was so mad he wouldn't ask for another contract.
k_chelski
No surprises there. arsene has always maintained this, and he will stick with theyoung guns. they deserve it, and they will only be better for the experience.
