In my 38 years of this life (33 since I have loved Arsenal), I have never seen a *****ter and more gutless bunch. Honestly my amateur team could outmuscle this bunch of gutless wonders.

Slow and totally uncommitted. No bite in midfield, no real intelligence in defence. Unbelievable. The shower gel is ok though.

We can blame the players all we like, but have the fans shown enough faith in the side? Not one post on here before or during the game yet we have plenty to say after it. I feel we are getting what we deserve at this time. Not happy, but will have some perspective on this too.

Well, it seems like our regular columnists have given up and left it to the sponsors. No pre-match preview or even team list, so where are we supposed to post comments? Look , I don't mean to be negative but there ain't a lot positive to say at the moment about our team. After this weekend we will be near bottom having conceeded more goals in 3 games than I can remember. Sure, the attacking play was good at times, if a little profligate. But what is clear is that Wenger doesn't do defence. And he doesn't drill the sort of 'win at all costs' mentality into his players that is required to take a team over the threshold. Will he ever admit to himself that he could use help with defensive coaching? Who knows. And as Fans we will cheer and moan as a fact of life. What's the point blaming the great unwashed? I'd say most fans have shown more than enough faith in Wenger for well over a decade.

Wyn, I agree with you re: our in-house columnists leaving the site to sponsors' promotional articles. It does send a signal: that we have left the team to its own devices! Let us support the team and continue to be positive. This team needs time to gel, take care of the defensive problems and biuld the confidence.

I hate to say this but I've pointed out many times that we can't play without Cesc. He was the vital cog in the wenger system. He made them all look better. He's now in a team worthy of his talents and banging in the goals and dishing the assists. He will finish the season with 20 goals and 20 assists at this rate. Wenger should have build a great team around him. Instead we are left with this.

The sort of ball Song played in to Gervinho for our first goal was the sort of assist Cesc would regularly produce for us. He'd keep an opposition midfield occupied for the entire match with his intelligent positioning. Not sure Arteta has this to be honest. But were going to have to get used to life after Cesc, and it means some players learning how to get stuck in.

We are in for a long hard season. We just picked up from where we left of last season. We are paying the price for our slowness during the summer and the whole uncertainty that created. I don't know what our style of play is anymore. Ramsey, Wilshere and Arteta need to define that.
