I typed all those names without copy-and-pasting! :D
Other than the assist, Walcott didn't contribute anything at all. 45mins, one meaningful pass from Walcott
Benanyoun was just jogging in the entire first half
Many other players need to improve in the 2nd half.
We are allowing Dortmund an unbelievable amount of space to play. Will be a miracle if we come away with all the points.

Most players jogging to be honest. Wish i could say it looked like we were committed but a more clinical team than Dortmund would have buried us by now.

So typical letting in goals in the dying minutes. it used to be us doing that to others when we had a team but now every time we go into the last 10 min with one goal lead you just feel that we are going to concede.
Great effort for the point,we could have easily been beaten tonight.
Encouraged though as i thought our defense did not do badly at all. they had little protection through the middle most of the time and we where carrying a passenger in Walcott. I know many will point to the excellent assist but what else did he do? He is not and never will be a winger to his defense.
Great point, would have definitely taken that before the game. We were under the cosh for a lot of the match but we were away to the german champions with a team that still had a lot of new players bedding in (Arteta, Benayoun, Mertesacker, Gervinho) so that was to be expected. I'm pretty happy with the result and so was Arsene by the looks of it but I know some fans will still have a moan.
Hahaha 1 all.
Lots of defensive positives to take from this one.
I thought we defended well for most of the game. Did well considering Bowie's point about new players taking time to gel and that Dortmund played well attacking us - sometimes their end product reminded me of ourselves though haha.. No complaints from me.
Dannism is a sp*rs fan, right?
Speaking of conceding late goals, look at Farcelona.. lol
I believe he's a chav
Very well fought for result; I'll take that all day long. If Chelsea or United do d same and get the same result, the rags will praise and say they know how to "grind out a result". Dortmund is a very good side; make no mistake about that. We may have been lucky but how many times have we said that about many a victorious side? It's 1 point in d bag and that's all that matters.
Good result, but a disappointing performance. The only saving grace was Dortmund's finishing, which was poor otherwise, they would have and should have won the game. The support from mid field was so poor, Arteta/Benayoun/Theo/Gervinho. When the ball needed to be passed out from defence, there was no one from the mid field to collect a pass, which meant the ball was played back to defence/goalie. Fantastic play from Dortmund - put a lot of pressure, high tempo game throughout and never let Arsenal be comfortable in possession.
Maybe the high tempo and pressure game Dortmund played made it hard for the midfield players to make them self's awaileble for a pass. A battling performance but not nearly as good as we can deliver.
Naijagunner concur mate I would have taken a draw any day of the week. The team is still in the stage of gelling together. Our manager stil not able to communicate with his players which makes a difference,(people are always blaming him if he doesn't perform. something i have been talking about for two years the boss has come out with the same remarks;(and you didn't need to be a genius to see that). our defence held its ground and I was pleased with the effort.
Unusual to see us not string a few passes together, that's where Cesc was invaluable in controlling the game. But we made that up in effort in tracking back. We're going to have to grow into a side this season as we're still finding our feet, so I won't be too critical of our offensive play. Hopefully that will improve. Despite his assist, I hope Theo can improve his all round game because at the moment he's very much a one trick pony.
Another brainless performance from Walcott. One good pass in the entire game. I know you may argue that without him, RvP would not have scored. Maybe, but with a good replacement, maybe we could have won the game. What must he do in order to be dropped by Wenger? Alex Ferguson was right, he would not let what has been happening at Arsenal happen to MU. Players like Walcott, Denilson, Gibbs and Squillaci stand no chance of warming their bench.
nowadays, it's more understandable to expect our opponents to play badly than to expect the Arsenal team to play well. Pay attention to our shots on target, which is pathetic for a team challenging for the league title.
fcdematthew, the biggest flaw in your argument is that Arsenal are not a team challenging for the league title. The fans know it, the players know it, the manager knows it. :-)
Did we put a bid in for Gotze? I thought we tried but I'm not sure. He looked class!
No 10
fcdmatthew - I think you're being harsh there. It's going to take time for this new team to gel offensively. Judge them again after another 10 games.
fcdemathew, you are being unbelievably unfair to Walcott and Gibbs but then thats to be expected. Walcott has scored 16 goals and assisted 10 in his last 40 odd games for Arsenal which is not a record to be belittled considering he does not play as a centre forward.
