'If It's Football, It's Vital'

R.I.P. Dan Wheldon

Many football fans are generally fans of all sports and appreciate sporting talent in general, and sometimes it`s alright to to use Vital Arsenal as a vehicle to talk about other sports.

Unfortunately tonight I`ll be using the Vital network to pay a sad tribute to a race car driver who tragically lost his life tonight.

British Indycar driver, and current Indy 500 champion Dan Wheldon was killed in a tragic accident at Las Vegas Motorspeed way this evening.

Wheldon was killed in a 15 car accident as the series hoped for an exciting season finale, but ended in tragedy.

Dan had lost his ride to JR Hildebrand early in the season, yet secured a drive for the world famous Indianapolis 500, and ironically Wheldon passed his former car on the last turn of the 500, after Hildebrand put his car into the wall enabling Wheldon to join an elite club of drivers with multiple Indy 500 wins.

Dan Wheldon is survived by his wife and 2 children.

Vital Arsenal offers our deepest sympathies to his family.

Rock, why use Vital Arsenal to comment on an Indy Car driver? I'm not having a go mate, just curious as to why when other British sportsmen have died over the last 10 years and they didn't get a mention. Do you have any connection with the guy or his family?

As i said in the first paragraph LG, most football fans are the fans of other sports too, and this is one outlet to express something sympathy. I've mentioned other sports on a number of occassions, I don't remember mentioning anyone else's death, but I'm not sure anyone else has died who I've known enough about them to comment.
